The polluters always say, "I'm for cleaning things up, but not just yet!" They make ridiculous claims, like you are doing about "outlawing fossil fuels" when all we're trying to do is, for example, make car and factory exhaust cleaner, shift from high-polluting fuels such as coal to lower-pollution fuels such as natural gas, then eventually transition to a world completely powered by renewables. What objection could you possibly have to that?

The scam is the polluters saying, "Yes, but." Yes, coal is dirty, but the coal companies contribute a lot of money to our political campaign fund. Yes, wind turbines supply clean energy, but Donald Trump doesn't like to see wind farms offshore of his golf course. Yes, solar energy is getting cheaper, but if it gets too cheap my Royal Dutch/Shell stock will be worth less. Yes, the petroleum princes in the middle east have too much influence because of their oil, but Qatar just gave Donald Trump a big shiny airplane so you have to be nice to them.
