It’s almost impossible to keep idle chats from happening in threads… occasionally they get a bit derailed …. It’s usually not a big deal, imo.

But that’s also why I tend to only post in threads where that doesn’t make someone angry.

It’s also why I have so many of my own threads … ;)

It can be a fine line between fun banter that springs up and derailing a thread. I’m pretty laid back about it, but notice it when all of a sudden there are pages of idle chit chat in threads that are usually pretty on topic most of the time. It doesn’t usually bother me too much unless it’s unending.

If the thread owner speaks up and is polite about it, I never understand the entitled and rude responses though.

To be clear, I’m not saying you did any of those things 😂

This … I’ve been a part of threads being derailed … and I’ve had mine derailed..


I usually just post the initial post or try to re-route the conversation back to where it belongs.

I don’t think it’s rude to ask people to take it to PM if they are continually going on and on in their conversation that does not have to do with the thread topic.
