The high point of my day was buying sneakers, and I’m okay with that.

I had planned on just taking it easy with my guest, but my friend who stayed overnight announced already yesterday that she wants to bake, and then my partner came and we actually escorted my friend a bit (so that she cleared the transfer from bus to tram), and walked back... Well at least I still have the evening to be lazy!

You must be in the foothills somewhere. Wasn't cold enough a smidgen above sea level for snow at our place.
But it really does feel that winter has arrived.

We're around 1,900 feet. Got maybe 1/4-1/2" of wet stuff. Got a decent amount at the ski area and more on the way

That's interesting. It has to last past 8am to count as snow? Seems a very Nordic definition.

I went for a hike today. The weather was good even though you could smell and taste the smoke. I’m glad I brought my poles because even though I picked the easiest trail my knees gave out at the end. I am really out of shape.

I’ll do some walking around the neighborhood. The hiking spot is a half hour away and closes at dark so I can only do that on weekends.
