I had a few glasses of wine with the Sunday family lunch ar in-laws. Funny how when we're just me and my Dom we seldom have any alcohol (independence day is a major exception - wines are already waiting for next week), but when we visit either parents, it probably means some wine with food.

Then again, there IS a point against drinking alcohol when having a session... meaning almost always after our private dinners. So it doesn't leave much else than the family dinners

My in-laws don't drink and my wife is giving me crap about my drinking. I won't get any until Turkey Day and then my wife and daughter will be watching me like hawks.

Frankly, in our sessions there's not much risk as any pain is excluded anyway. You can't slip with the whip when it's not even in use. But he's probably more skilled sober anyway. I might even benefit from 1 small glass of wine, the verbal part might go better.

I just don't like absolutism, I want some on special occasions at least.

Frankly, in our sessions there's not much risk as any pain is excluded anyway. You can't slip with the whip when it's not even in use. But he's probably more skilled sober anyway. I might even benefit from 1 small glass of wine, the verbal part might go better.

My D doesn't harm me at least nothing I can't handle. I have a strong tolerance to pain anyway. She knows what I like & how far she can take it me and she limits it to once every 2 weeks for recovery.

The lack of a "moderation gene" applies to practically everything... work, love, play, pushing the envelope, etc... even abstinence... I can spend five and a half months on the boat and not touch a drop, with no problem... it's a weird trait that I've always had. I'm pretty much an "all or nothing" kind of guy.
