šŸŖ¢ All tied up today šŸŖ¢

Sooooo... back on topic with a side question:

What do you grab when you want to tie, but have no rope?

For this woven tie, I used glittery shoelaces.

Itā€™s the pattern coming off your toes that does it for me. Amazing.

How long does that take?

What a beautiful thread, Moochie! I love the colors of the ropes that enhance the visual of the tying, but GLITTER SHOESTRINGS have me smiling! :rose:

Here are my first 50 cents to this thread, and I have to say, I am not really sure it is even 50 cents I have to offer today.
I had an idea for my picture thread, I wanted to take a picture in which I was binding myself with a rope , as I am crafting the rope. I thought making the rope myself would be a nice touch... it might still be, but I have horribly underestimated also how difficult this is.
I first tried using the handcuff knot Tanstaafl showed and that worked fine, but the rope comes uot very thin and you can hardly see the knots, so I am not really happy with the end result.

I found some amazing pictures online of other forms of binding ones legs, but my immediate conclusion should be... "you gonna need a longer rope" Pardon the Jaws Pun

well, back at it :)

love,

Thom

Beautiful tie, and very creative.

For me, the original bindings i used, the first time i heard the magic words "Tie me up" was the belt ofva silk Asian style bathrobe. Silk...feels very good against the skin.

Hahaha! FWIW, there is nothing more frustrating than havihg your partner restrained, enjoying the process, ropes all falling in place...and you're about to finish the perfect tie and...you are two feet short for the coup de grasse. ARGH! And, the "knitting" pic on your thread is very creative Thom.

When I get a minute I will show two practical uses for the Prusik. So get a piece of cord and practice! I recommend a piece of 3/16" or 1/4" (4-6 mm) single braid as a practice rope. Or, whatever you have on hand

I can't wait.

Other than restraints, I can't think of much of a use... maybe putting some limb into traction? Tightening then releasing pressure?

Time to pic this up again. Today I have for all you wonderful Pervs the Prusik Shackle. This know provides a wrist or ankle tie that will not tighten or loosen if the sub pulls in it or leans heavily. Struggling will not move it either. Yet because it is a Prusik, if you squeeze the know and push or pull, a Dom can easily adjust it.

This will be a couple of posts. I am trying narration. to begin

This is SUPER cool. Thank you for sharing this, TAN. Wish I had someone to loosen it for me ;)

I want to do more outside this year. Adding an element of exhibition to my ties. This was a really quick something I tied on the spot. The center is a joining of the two ropes... take that fact with as much symbolism as you would like.

What ways do you like to use to join ropes? I usually use the collapsed larkshead like in this picture because I have the knotted ends.

That knot is fine as a finisher in this case because there is no tension on it. The same goes for its other form...the reef knot, which lays flat and won't irritate.

The knot you used in the middle of the last tie you put up on your Mementos (with Manny) thread is kind of the starter for an Ocean Plait. There is a knot that provides a very secure end-to-end connection: the Carrick Bend, which looks very similar. Here it is with the ends seized:

That is an interesting way to carry your supply of emergency rope on a hike!

A quiet walk in the woods. Look it is a wood nymph.

I've always kept it simple when joining ropes: I use a fisherman's bend, which is very much a "form over function" knot.

I like yours better, both for its execution and for its appearance on your body. This is a beautiful pic.

ETA: Lol. I've always called it a fisherman's bend, but the interwebz are telling me it's sometimes called a "double fisherman's bend."

Whatever.

At one with nature. Ideal tie for speed, not too complicated but effective.

As an aside, I had to look twice at your head as initially it looked as though it became part of the tree, then noticed you had blurred your face as well as part of the tree. From the distance it looked joined.

So kind. Thank you. :)

Ah! Looks a lot like a double coin to me. This would be pretty to use as an accent knot in the center of a tie for sure! I love learning new knots like this. Thank you, TAN.

That is an interesting way to carry your supply of emergency rope on a hike!

I would not recommend a hike in this particular outfit, and I would triply not advise using this particular rope for any emergencies. This is bamboo silk and only meant for ā€œfloorā€ ties, not suspensions. It wouldnā€™t be good for uplines or climbing. It sure is pretty, though, huh? ;)

Iā€™ll whisper the secrets of the trees into the wind for you. Just listen for me, Iā€™m there. šŸƒ

Fishermanā€™s bend (or double for two ropes joining) is a very good way to join. Thank you for sharing, Dubinsky.

As a rule, I donā€™t care to blur in my photos, but my face isnā€™t something I want to share here... so I tried to make it a bit less obvious and like I was meant to be a part of the nature around me. Still distracting, but less-so, I hope.
