Thank you for your post, I like honesty from everyone that I encounter. Everyone has a different opinion, and yours is different from others. It is fine that this is the way that you feel about my physical appearance; it is the way that most men, especially ones in my age group, feel. Regarding the abusive 14 year old who's been posting harrassing, vitriolic crap:

Do not PM him. Trolls thrive on negative attention. By reacting to him, one feeds the burning need for the attention that seems to motivate him. Better the active scorn and derision from faceless strangers on the net than the way he goes through his day, ignored and friendless.

At the bottom of every post, there is a link that titled "report this post to a moderator". Do like I did. Send a copy of his post to the moderator and say "This git is abusive, harrassing, and as a member of Literotica.com, I don't want this kind of absuive crap to be tolerated. Please deal with it as you see fit. Thank you."

Don't flood the git with the reward-messages his seeking. Flood the moderators with complaints about his abusive behavior.

Literotica is a voluntary community, one I'm quite fond of. I, for one, don't intend to stand around and let this go unattended. If everyone who agrees that this type of crap is unacceptable writes a POLITE PM to the moderators, I'm sure they will either give this git a "last chance to straighten up and fly right" warning or, since I feel he's already gone way over board, erase his account and ban him. But I don't run the board.

Remember to be polite when you write the moderators. Let HIM be the vitriolic asshole.

Please don't repost those people, because the moderators can't do anything about it, and here's the reason why:

It happens now and then that people post derogatory posts toward the people who post here in this forum. I for one think it's very rude, but that's just how I am. But since the owners of this board are firm believers in free speech, theses kind of posts are very rarely edited. There are several examples of it on the general board.

The easiest thing to do, if people are being rude, it to simply add them to your ignore list, that way you won't automatically read their posts, but have to click a link to read it.

Laurel agrees with me on this point, and says that I'm on the right track when I suggest that people simply add the rude people to their ignore lists.

I have one more thing I want to inform about. The only ones that can ban people from Lit are the owners for the site, so if you want to have somebody banned, you have to contact them. The moderators can only edit and remove posts/threads on the specific boards they moderate.

On second thought, ignore the moderators. I just heard back from one of them and the response was pretty much "The Owners declare total free speech, put him in your ignore list. Nothing will be done".

I think that's a suck-ass, cowardly cop out. But I don't run this operation.

Enforcing civility in a political discussion thread is maybe both a waste of time and not a good idea. Fine.

Enforcing civility in an area where people are posting revealing pix of themselves is, I think, not a bad idea, nor an undoable one. You can say "I don't think that's a good photo of you." You can say "I don't think you're very pretty." But to allow what ammounts to a personal attack in the name of "free speech"?

One of the things I've loved about Literotica.com has always been that, at least in the picture feedback section, people were always polite. I hear that the General Section is a bit more aggro and snarky. Fine.

But to allow this kind of abuse to go unchecked in the name of free speech totally recasts Literotica for me. People come here to post pix and quite often there is some version of "I'm shy, my first time, go easy on me." If this is a free-for-all state of nature with no rules of civility, I would not recommend at all that those who are at all shy or self-conscious post pictures of themselves.

Any thoughts I may have had of encouraging my wife to post here have not been moved to the back burner, they've been taken completely off the stove until I get a better sense of what I thought was a community I really enjoyed.

I thought this was a community. I'm not sure what it is now.

P.S. The terms "cowardly" and "suck-ass" refer to the quality of the decision, not the decider. No personal attacks.

Pornofan420 I can't understand why you judge a whole comunity on two single posters. Put then on your ignore list, and the problem is solved. There will always be rude people in the world, fortunately we are lucky that we don't have many of them here, and if people don't reply to them, they will go away.

As for free speach, it is a big deal here on lit, so don't say it's a cheap cop out. If we didn't have free speach here on lit, it would be a very boring place to be, and we wouldn't have the sex talks and the nude pictures at all.
