Well, i don't get to handle rubbers, they're out in the rest of the store for everyone else to fondle, but i know more about my patients than i'd care to sometimes........lol

my niece works in an old age home, so i can only imagine.......i don't know how she does it........the only butts I have managed to wipe are my daughter's and my own........and that's all i care to say about that........lol

I used to work in a nursing home, became a certified nursing assistant when I was 16. Bad idea! Old people are mean! And those little old ladies know right where to pinch so it hurts the most...

I've worked in a general hospital. It doesn't get much messier than that. And smellier. And ickier.
Accident and Emergency is fun though. except when they come in with milena and you're stood there for hours trying to keep on top of it ~_~

Milena (i'm not sure of the spelling) is basically bleeding from the bowel. It runs down andout the only way it can, and picks up alot of shit along the way (literally).
It's comes out a sludgy brown colour and it smells like rotting flesh. And since it's internal, all you can really do is keep wiping it up and hope the wound clots itself soon.

Well, I'm in the same boat...still five semesters left in my undergrad...and not even something marketable...biological anthropology...but I love it!

I had to chime in on that...what the heck is biological anthropology?

I've taken Intro to Anth and I'm a Biopsych major (working with the brain...go neuroscience nerds!) but I'm not sure how they interact? Using biological function as a basis for human social interaction maybe?

Haha, I knew I was going to have to answer this sooner or later. Biological anthropology deals with changes, developments and adaptations in the human body from a long term historical perspective. Lots of evolution, genetics, evolution, osteology, EVOLUTION.... well, you get the picture. I love the genetics!

Oh I see. What sort of job opportunities are available in that field?? Are you taking a heavy genetics track? Or are you primarily going to do some sort of R&D (the ONLY place I could think that would want a biological anthropologist for R&D would be a major uni) or teaching?

Well, probably won't get a job in anything relating to my major, but there's always forensic science and identification to go into. Right now I'm thinking about radiology after my undergrad...
