If it were Vinnie and the Jets, maybe...

The Panthers showed up for the first quarter of the game. I don't know who was wearing their uniforms the rest of the game. :(

Although they lost, they are the first team this season to score on their first drive against the Colts.

I wondered if anyone would pick up on the oldies reference to Vinnie's age - "Bennie and the Jets" ... I guess not, or it was just too lame.

Let's leave Elton John out of this. ;)

Let me be the first to apologise for how bad the NFL game over here was.... The organisers clearly did not get it right... And as much as I tried to give it a good atmosphere, the other Brits clearly didnt understand how the cheer etc.. lol

Corrected the previous post. And tonight's game will tell if you did better than the Brit or not. If GB wins, you did. If Denver wins, nax did.

Un-freakin'-believable! Favre gets the ball at 14:56 of OT; 12 seconds and one 82-yard pass play later, game over. ::Shakes head::
  • 36 times he's come from tie or behind in the 4th quarter or OT.
  • 425 career touchdown passes.
  • 12 consecutive completions to start the second half.
  • Ties the longest game-winning pass in overtime in NFL history.
Brett, the Hall of Fame is holding a new wing for whenever you decide to retire.

Congrats to NW_D - 11
Daddy, nw_s, ShyGuy - 10
HM, SW, subkitty, WD - 9
nax - 8

Hey.. us brits arent that bad :p

Ok, well maybe this week anyway!

So just how much ass did last night's MNF game kick?

Quite a bit I'd say!!!

Not that I'm still excited about it or anything... but you know it's good when you're still pumped the next day.

I was in shocked disbelief. We were all ready for this long battle in overtime and then poof, it was over! Could not believe it. Great game.

I know it... I was just wondering how late I was going to have to stay up. Then to have it end the way it did, I was SOOO pumped, I couldn't sleep for a while anyway.

LOL - I didn't watch the game. I was working and watching network shows I like. (For some reason, I can "watch" network shows and work, but I just can't get my mind back into work mode when I'm watching football.) Then I watched a little bit of news. Then I switched over to ESPN for the last 00:28 of regulation time, including Denver managing to (A) run Cutler on a nonsense QB keeper that essentially got nowhere except eating up 10 seconds, (B) get the offense off the field, (C) get the FG team on the field, (D) line up, and (E) kick the tying field goal - the last four of which took 18 seconds, or much, much less time than it took me to type it out. Then the commercials, the coin flip, the kickoff, and the second anti-Colorado miracle in two days. All of that took perhaps five minutes *real* time.

Then I spent half an hour or so replaying it in my mind as I watched replay after replay, interviews, etc.

I think I basically saw two of the three greatest moments of the game in 5 minutes. Now that's efficient!

Denver is REALLY efficient in getting their offense off the field and their field goal unit onto the field. I was also pleasantly surprised that the Packers didn't get penalized for being offsides, having too many men on the field, or whatever.

Regarding the QB sneak, it worked earlier in the game for about 8 yards, but then the Packers started keeping a spy on Cutler to prevent him from repeating it.
