Otay, reason for my "disappearance" for a few days... <sigh> started having chest pains (angina) last Thursday evening (9/13), ended up going to an ER Sunday afternoon. They said my enzyme levels weren't high enough to say I had had another heart attack, nor low enough to say I hadn't.

Called the VA clinic Monday morning, they had me come in in the afternoon, then sent me to another ER who ran the same tests as the first ER. This time, the enzyme levels had increased by a factor of 3 or 4 - I had definitely had, or was having, another heart attack. Because Knoxville doesn't have a VA hospital, just the Mon-Fri clinic, the ER where the clinic sent me called Nashville VA hospital, and they said throw my ass in an ambulance and transport me to Nashville. They pulled more tests, but the enzyme levels were down moderately, meaning the heart attack was over and my blood was returning to normal. They did a cardiac cath Tuesday afternoon and said it was small vessels with blockage, and that would be treated with some new meds and some increase on current meds. Yesterday (Thursday), they sent me home.

So I'm feelin' okay, except for that "pincushion" feeling after all the dang needles and catheters and things they stuck in me, and I'm going to try real hard to take all my meds every day. Three heart attacks over the last 9 years is enough, I guess.

My picks for Week 3:

Baltimore
New England
Philadelphia
Indianapolis
N.Y. Jets
Kansas City

Good lord, Sir_Winston! Please take your medications daily. I know it's tough, but you can do it. You must preserve yourself for all the ladies 'round here who need their daily spankings... and the NFL game schedule!

BTW, folks - the only picks I currently see in are Northwoods_Dom, northwoods_sub, and me... less than 48 hours to get 'em posted, you laggards! ;)

Remember, anyone can get in... the price is right!

Hmmm... interesting... with 10 of 11 players having their picks in, there is only 1 unanimous pick - Denver over Jax.

And four solo picks:
Hottie - Buffalo over New England
Nax - Houston over Indy
subkitty - SFO over Pittsburgh
and Daddy - Giants over Washington

If I were to pick with my heart, I would pick Atlanta as well, now that they have come to their senses and signed the highest scroing NFL player, and not to forget fellow countryman of mine, again!!!! But since I pick with my head, I can't pick them. But it'll make my heart happy if they make it!

Aaah, I see... and I don't pick with my head! Is that what you're saying? I smell an insult in that!

We'll see. young Hamlet, we shall see!

Good morning (or whatever time it is at Elsinore)!

How about a small wager?

If Atlanta wins, I'll throw my red briefs out.

I they lose, you'll have to send me a pics of you in sexy underwear.

And good afternoon, almost evening to you.
