I’d like to nominate NoTalentHack, He has written some of the strongest emotional rollercoasters over the past several months and shows a grasp of storytelling that brings the reader into the tale being told!
I agree. NoTalentHack is an excellent writer.
I'd also give a nom to @NoTalentHack ... strong stories good execution and an eye for the tale

You guys are going to make me cry! I'm a grown-ass man! Don't do that! Thank you, though.

Honestly, jokes aside, I'm really touched.

Just read through this thread and realize now I’m out of my depth here as a newbie, not “influential” by the various yardsticks being discussed here.
But thanks to Carly though (I mean Carly?? wow)
Anyways, anyone here that’s a legit/real writer - would love any feedback should you have the time.
Off to read a little NoTalentHack…

My stuff can be… ah, kinda dark. Like real dark. If you want to dip your toe in, start with Meat Market, Virility, or A Very Long Engagement.

I’m neither a writer or a critic with any standing. As a reader though, I appreciate authors whose writing offers no resistance, that pulls me forward (as opposed to stuff that one has to grind through, stuff that’s “work.”). Your April Fool’s story was delightful! I’m gonna dip outta here now - didn’t mean to hijack y’all’s thread.

However!

Please…please…please don’t take this wrong, but the category here is “Most Influential Author for 2022”. Can a writer who just joined Literotica in November really be considered for this award? Don’t get me wrong, I think NoTalentHack is a misnomer, this is an extremely talented author and if LitE had a Rookie of the Year award, I’d be in the front of the line to support the nomination, but I can’t get behind it for an award that to me suggests a longer term impact. I think we are potentially seeing a shooting star here, but not for this award at this time. If NTH keeps doing what they’ve been doing, lots of these awards will be in their future…just not this award yet for me.

Being the card-carrying narcissist that I am, I write more than I read. Though I have started to remedy that of late. Also, I’ve not been here that long.

Having said that, a vote for @Djmac1031 with his pared-down, realistic style and engaging characters (and not just as I have a girl-crush on his Jenna 😬).

Maybe suggest newcomer of the year as a category?
Yes, a much better suggestion for the category title. I really think this should be a consideration for 2023!

Also you can go to Laurel’s initial thread titled

“The 2022 Literotica Awards - Special Category Nomination Round”

to get an explanation of how the nomination and voting process works.

As much as I hate to admit it, you're not wrong. And I do appreciate that, if there was a rookie of the year, you would nominate/vote for me in it. Unfortunately, such a category does not exist, and by the time it does, I won't be eligible.

However, there is an evergreen award that I do think, if people are interested in nominating me for something, I would better qualify for: Most Literary. That's what I've aimed for, in most of the stuff I've written. I'm not asking people to nominate me for anything; I appreciate that people have, and I truly mean that. I don't want folks to feel like I'm beating the drum for noms or anything; but if someone asked me, objectively, which award I thought I was most eligible for, it would be that one. So, if you like what I do, and I mean really, really like it, and think it's appropriate, maybe that would be the better place?

But next year. Next year! I'll be back for you, Most Influential!

You're so prolific, I didn't realize that you'd been on here for such a short time.

I appreciate the nomination, @EmilyMiller, but I haven't even been writing that long myself. I doubt I've "influenced" any other writers.

But I'm glad you enjoy Jenna. I have a crush on her myself. 😉

@EmilyMiller, as much as I truly love your stories, and deeply appreciate your nomination, I have to nominate @NoTalentHack .

Is he relatively new here? Yes.

But reading his stories HAS influenced me, because his realistic and often dark style has helped me realize I've been on the correct path to writing my own more "realistic," down to earth stories.

Even when I'm writing about alien abductions.

I wasn’t really expecting any nominations. I didn’t even know about this until someone else posted a thread saying they’d nominated another author, but wished there was a tentacle porn category.

And the Oscar for most mentioned in nominations for other people goes to…

I just scribble porn, can’t see that being terribly influential.

I'm more interested in who actually sparked you off... that in my mind is influential to you. Who was it that really made you think you could have a go at this as an author? Who started the ball rolling?

I would have to say that "most influential" for me was therefore @OllyT - David and Becky was an absolute beast and he kept lobbing the chapters in regardless, publish-and-be-damned style, demonstrating commitment to core. I learned from him that it's the story, stupid.

I nominate NorthernNewEnglandGuy because he is writing stories that are both able to tastefully describe sexual situations and relate to normal human beings. Some of his his characters are physically disabled but fully deal with them, and all of them are mentally balanced and decent people.

Most of the categories on Literotica turn my stomach, but this guy is a jewel in a haystack.
