2024 Democratic National Convention Thread

According to you I’m always wrong, RG’s always wrong, HisArpy is always wrong, Buff girl is always wrong, Cloe is always wrong, maybe it’s the other way around doofus
Now that ChloeTzang is concentrating on talking about Ukraine, her track record is getting better, but yes, you, RightGuard, HisArpy, and BuffaloGurl are always wrong.

He stepped aside. Biden made the decision not to run.

Whether you believe it was nefarious or not is irrelevant to anyone except for yourself
because of their own innate selfishness and greed—which they don't view as such—magat republicans are incapable of understanding the concept of selflessness; they cannot begin to understand why President Biden would give up his position so need to frame it in terms they do understand: coercion, fixed, forced, cheating, a coup....

For them to understand that Joe Biden, the man, is a good person whose interests in helping his country outweigh any personal ambition is just too alien a concept for them and why they vote trump. They 'understand' trump in their own terminology... where we see bully, they see strong; where we see coward, they see smart; and where we see 34 counts of felony, they see a saviour suffering to save them.

Someone said Biden was perfectly coherant at the DNC implying his marbles are intact. If that's the case why was he taken off the ballot? Gettin' it now? :)
Oh look, Ann is tryin' to drive a wedge in the Democratic convention.

Isn't that adorable?!

I think you might be a tad harsh here. Buffalogurl has some outdated eye-rolling beliefs, but she's not afraid to try to express them.

Rightguide and HisArpy are, quite frankly, simpletons, i.e. "Trump like something, me like something. Trump no like something, me no like something".

y'all want musk trying to run the entire country?

Billionaire Elon Musk has suggested he will step up to the mark if appointed to a White House role by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump said yesterday if he is elected president in November he would be open to naming the Tesla CEO to a cabinet or advisory role.

'He's a very smart guy. I certainly would, if he would do it, I certainly would. He's a brilliant guy,' Trump said in an interview with Reuters. Musk responded to the comments on X today with just five words: 'I am willing to serve.'
the only service musk's interested in is self-serve, and i'm convinced he'd attempt to totally influence trump till musk would, effectively, be running the show. There's not enough room in trump-world for 2 such enormous egos, and musk would have no problem influencing and then outmaneuvering trump... could he do it before trump fired him?

They didn’t just climb over a fence…they cut part of it down. There are pics showing them carrying away what looked like interlocking portions so they couldn’t be used again. The article I saw didn’t mention arrests, so I’m going with they were “mostly peaceful”…
I would have thought you'd have gone with 'guided tour'.

It was a reminder, to anyone who needed it, that the GOP's election subversion efforts surrounding Jan. 6, 2021, never actually ceased — and that Georgians know this firsthand.
^ referring to Ralph Warnock's warning speech
"The day after my Jan. 5 election, [Donald Trump] instigated an insurrection. A violent assault on our nation’s capital and the peaceful transfer of power. All driven by the 'big lie.' But behind the 'big lie' was an even bigger lie. It is the lie that this increasingly diverse American electorate does not get to determine the future of this country. The lie and the logic of Jan. 6 is a sickness. It is a kind of cancer that then metastasized into dozens of voter suppression laws all across our country. And we must be vigilant tonight because these antidemocratic forces are at work right now in Georgia and all across our country, and the question is: who will heal the land?"

Joe Biden went out the way he's been throughout his entire "career" as a taxpayer funded parasite. "Poorly Informed, Vindictive, and Dishonest...," forced out in an internal Party coup and with his "swan song" speech relegated humiliatingly to midnight when nobody except the Party Faithful would be awake and listening. Reminiscent of the best in Stalinist show trials.

Biden has always been consistent. Consistently wrong, consistently poorly informed, consistently and deliberately dishonest, consistently nasty, and consistently vindictive. Obama told us that we should never underestimate Joe Biden's ability to fuck things up and as former Defense Secretary Robert Gates said of him, "I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Something he proved all to capably during his so-called "Presidency". Last night, at the DNC, we saw Biden give the speech that will be seen as his swan song, and he was 100% consistent with his record: Dishonest, vindictive, nasty, and wrong. No surprises there, and there's no point in going into the details. The Demonrat sycophants' will deny, and those of us who are based in reality will agree.

The one good thing is that we can now bid farewell to one of the most dishonest, feckless, and incompetent (and let's make no bones about it, corrupt) politicians in the history of the USA. While technically he remains the President and still has a few months left in office, we all know he's not the one in charge, but at least he's finally out of the picture and good riddance, although we all know the only reason he's not the candidate is that Pelosi, Obama and Clinton stabbed in the back the candidate the Democratic Party members had voted for, despite knowing that he was a senile old fool with dementia.

Oh no....I am damned with faint praise LOL ... but regardless, I shall continue down my path of supporting Ukraine and the Heretics shall see the Light!

Classic Chloe. Once again she made up a load of bull and became upset.

Naaaah, that's not upset. Stop being melodramatic. That's just shaking my head at the DNC and the nastiness on display. Whatever happened to JFK and inspiring speeches and turns of phrase. From "My fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country” and "Ich bin ein Berliner" to, well, Biden said it.....

Last night at the DNC I saw Senator Warnock give a moving speech on American inclusion. At the RNC I saw people holding up signs calling for mass deportation of foreigners. Despite how white American you may feel in your Asian skin, foreigners to MAGA doesn’t just mean Mexicans.

In what universe are you saying that? She's been begging Israel to give up and let Hamas won since the October7th terrorist attack.
From Kamala Harris' 2024 election platform:

Democrats believe a strong, secure, and democratic Israel is vital to the interests of the United States. Our commitment to Israel’s security, its qualitative military edge, its right to defend itself, and the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding is ironclad.
...
We oppose any effort to unfairly single out and delegitimize Israel, including at the United Nations or through the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement, while protecting the Constitutional right of our citizens to free speech.

TS should snag ownership of that Uncle Sam picture and make it official use for Harris.

SPOT ON! imho Biden is the most incompetent foreign policy maker in US history. Hopefully he'll exit his failed presidency without leading us into WWIII.

If you think that's bad, you should hear how trump talks about people.

Got our troops out of harms way in Afghanistan. Aiding in exposing the flaws in the ego of Putin and the Russian military without sending troops into conflict - more substantial gains against Russia in 4 years than in all of the Cold War. You’re not blind but you’re a traitor who refuses to acknowledge America regaining credibility lost under the orange man.

Leaving Afghanistan was the biggest tactical and strategic blunder sin modern US military history. Just ask the British. Surrendering Bagram air base to the Taliban was nothing more than pure stupidity. Biden refused to take the advice of his generals.

2 decades with no measurable results under presidents from both parties. 2461 troops lost. 2461 families in mourning. Go ahead! Do it right now! Give us the pitch you would give to these families how leaving is a tactical blunder.
