slipped too far into the bird's water dish
and lay helpless until a gentle finger
extended, a lifeline brought him crawling
to safety. No sting but a fluttering
of wings in the heat of the sun, safety.
A droplet of water poured for him only,
he crawled to drink, fluttered a while longer,
then up and flew away.

Thank you to you both. It’s funny, but I kinda miss it already - even though I ran out of decent thoughts halfway through and scrambled those last few poems!

It’s always a bit sad finishing November, but April is right around the corner!
