Just wanted a separate thread for today.

I'm extremely proud to be an American today as we inaugurate our next President.

I don't like him or his policies, but my pride is not about that ..it's about our Republic, our Constitution and our Democracy.

I wish our new President well in his term to protect our Constitution.

I don’t.
The lies and vindictive nature of his campaign in addition to the promises he made are a threat to this democracy as well as all those in minority classes that do not include white, heterosexual males. You and I disagree. That’s fine. I do not share in your sentiment of feeling proud as an American.

Today marks the end of both American democracy and American Exceptionalism. We had a good 249 year run of democracy.

America has served notice to the world publicly that misogyny and racism are now core American values, please treat us accordingly.

The incoming president has clearly signaled his intentions early on by claiming he would "rule as a dictator" from Day One, which is today. (He also swore he'd have a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine prior today, which should go down in history as his first unkept promise of his second administration).

The world becomes a much less safer place as of today.

Kakistocracy with a side helping of Oligarchy replace Democratic Republic as the primary form of government in America.

As a white male, I will suffer far less than women of color and minorities.

I hope and pray that the suffering, misfortune and disease inflicted upon America by the dotard is returned threefold to himself, his family and his delusional supporters.

Political sepsis has been introduced to the body of American politics at noon today. Let's hope the patient survives.

Tip of the hat to everybody involved with the planning and logistics, especially with the decision to move things indoors just days before the big day. So far, everything is perfect.

The set up at the arena is unprecedented. It will be fascinating to watch our president signing executive orders in front of about 20,000 people.

The collective sigh of relief that’s sweeping the nation this morning is palpable. It is truly a beautiful and historic day. ❤️🇺🇸❤️

America democracy dies in fire and ice. (greed and indifference.)

And the dying will be slow and agonizing.

Enjoy.

I remember when leftie coworkers told me that George W. Bush was literally the anti christ, the United States was finished, democracy was over, and the world was about to be destroyed in global war because he got elected.

So any claims that can happen now are impossible, because all the bad stuff already happened in the past when some other guy lefties hated won office. 😄

But yes, good on Trump, and congratulations to the best President I've seen in my lifetime. 😎

Sorry, but Graham's bullshit prayer is partisan bullshit....fuck off.....the day is not political.

It's official - President Trump is now the 47th President of the United States of America.

🙄

TaintyFuckBoi forgets how that ^ prediction was faaaaar more accurate than most. See: The 2000 election being decided by a partisan Supreme Court (or Jeb Bush being governor of Florida), 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, the financial crisis, the patriot act, the department of homeland security, the ignoring of the looming climate crisis, the inaction on Chinese expansion / hegemony, etc, etc.

And STILL, G.W. Bush was NOT as bad as DonOld ; because G. W. Bush’s actions COULD be viewed as being in AMERICA’S (and the free world’s) interests, and not merely his own…

😑

Seems like he just admitted that blacks aren't equal yet. Maybe just me

Already the darkest, most devisive, most political Inauguration speech, ever.

Then name one darker, more divisive, and more political.
The speech isn't even finished yet..lol.

JFC dude......you don't even fucking care about the speech....you had this loaded up since the election

The speech isn't even finished yet..lol.

...and yet you already declared I was wrong.

If I am, as you so emphatically stated, name one darker, more divisive, and more political. Burden of proof is on you.

Ya think?

If I am, as you so emphatically stated, name one darker, more divisive, and more political. Burden of proof is on you.
Your comment has nothing to do with his speech. You haven't even taken a breath of reflection and already declared your position before the speech concluded...lol

You're not a serious person

I've got to commend you on your patriotism. As an Air Force veteran, I was extremely proud on hearing the Navy choir sing, and the military band play. While I, too, am not a huge fan of 47, I do respect the office he was elected to. God bless America.

DonOld looks OLD.

Will that OLD orange POS make it through the speech without keeling over???

😳

😑

🤣

Our new President's comments against our long standing allies.should be condemned as strongly as possible.
