I decided to do some A-B testing to see where to post my non-erotic short stories.
Same short story posted on three different sites, 3 days:

Wattpad - 1 view (that was me), zero interactions, category awards for most views (I'm not joking).
Inkitt - 5 views, 3 interactions
Literotica (non-erotic category) - 404 views, 38 interactions.

Wattpad looks like a scam. You can post your stories, but nobody will read them unless you pay Wattpad for advertising.
Inkitt looks like a community of writers. They are frantically reading and commenting on each other's work, but the pure readers seem to be missing.
Literotica is where the readers are.

Thoughts?

Not surprising. As much as I criticize the website, Literotica is easily the best place to post stories for authors who aren't pursuing the financial aspect.

Wattpad is a social media site. If you follow people, read and comment on their stories, many follow you back and do the same. Also, finding people who write similar stuff to you there, checking their followers list and adding them works too, especially those who are clearly prolific readers. (Some of the more succesful writers there also have large social media profiles on X and Bluesky.)

But I agree, you get more views on Literotica... though I have more comments on Wattpad.
