Ingo
“Ingo” Shino welcomed the bedraggled man.
“Shino?” He replied “You are a long way from home”
“Yes, I’m helping these folk get up river. What can you tell us about the conditions?”
“It is still very dangerous up river. The recent rains should have filled the swamp with water. You’ll need to pick your way through the tall reeds. Be careful as that is where the Banda savages are. 40 miles after that, you'll reach the ruins of the fort. Tie up the boat there and then climb up and over the fall... the temple is s just upstream a mile or so.
“Have you been there?” Gilda asked
“Many years ago… but I did not enter the temple. Too dangerous. More recently, I did help some knights get to the fort. They fought a large battle there. The knights won, but so few remained they could not hold the fort. They departed and there are reports goblins have moved in and started to repair the fortress.”
“Thanks for the information. Is there something we can give you for this information?” Gilda asked.
“Just talking to other people is reward enough. It is very lonely this far up the river.” Ingo explained.
Gilda handed him a small bag of coins. “Thanks… these coins will help you take a vacation”
They talked to Ingo for a while and then got back on the boat and head further up the river before nightfall.
