A working class guy marries a rich or upper class woman, her ex returns and they start an affair. The wife loves her husband but she's embarrassed by his class. Working Class Hero has the wife reject the other man. My idea is, she embraces him.
Any thoughts? Tips?

Sounds like a classic gold digger.
I'd have the working class guy realize her nature and when it seems she's about to leave him, he and some friends she's never met fake his winning the lottery.
When she comes back begging to be forgiven, he plays along. Then he convinces her to fly to Hawaii and meet him after he takes care of some family business.
He never shows and she's burned her bridge with both men.
