A ghost form the past ( closed for Evayla)

The following day the morning seemed to last forever.
And then some.
Yet at some point afternoon actually arrived and so did the girl with her promised chaperonne. Olivia opened the door to the shop, feeling oddly excited about the prospect of getting to work with the handsome young man. Now if only she could find a way to send her chaperonne outside, that would be utterly perfect.

The girl had tried to think up excuses beforehand, but had not managed. Maybe Jon was creative enough to somehow get her alone.

She wasn't even entirely sure why she so desperate wanted to be alone with him. There was something adventurous about him, something....unspoiled.

"Good afternoon." She greeted those present in the woodworker's shop.

Jon had did most of the morning pick-ups and skipped lunch to get a head start on sorting the work floor out in the shop. Jon's mind raced about Olivia, trying to find out what about her drew him to her so. Jon knew it wasn't the title/class or her money as he was very happy with his life, and his family's life. Jon knew her father would never let her marry down even if she wanted to. Jon will need to find a way to show his skills are better then money. Jon smiled he knew Olivia would be quick to help keep him around with what ever plan they could come up with..... If they could come up with a plan. First Jon needed to meet with her and try not to be in such a fog he loses his chance of doing this for her..... Jon was about to head to the door as he finished putting aside his project, when the door bell rang over the door. Jon was turning to face the door when he see Olivia come in behind a woman.

Jon smiled quickly moved to the ladys. He smiled looking at both of them before giving them a slight blow while saying " welcome my lady's to my family's shop." Jon tired as hard as he could to keep it a friendly smile tho it was hard. Jon was sure he looked a bit to happy at time when looking at Olivia. Jon cheerfully asked "So with the gift, did you have something in mind or would you like me to draw a portable mirror that can sit on any desk or dresser. That could have a enclosed area for your brush and any powders or maybe jewelry?"

Olivia was blushing from excitement. She lived a mostly sheltered life and only now that she came of age did her father take notice of the possibilities his daughter offered.
Possibilities for his trade.
Not for her.

So, she wanted this.
She wanted something for herself.
An adventure.

"A portable mirror?" Goodness, the man was creative already! She had not thought beyond a simple box! "That sounds...amazing, to be honest." She shot a look back at the chaperonne again, a stern looking lady who surveyed Jon with a healthy dose of suspicion.

Jon tired to work as if this was any other job. Jon tho kept his eyes on Olivia as he only addressed her. Jon could feel his heart racing as when he looked at her, his eyes went up to hers when not drawing. Jon makes a thick base, then makes a thick part of wood going up one each side then turning to cross to the other one at the top and bottom making a hole in the center. Jon smiles as he looks right in Olivia's eyes as he says "What kind of decoration do you want on the side? A vine, flowers, horses. I can do any shape you would want. Can be sunken in as a carving into the wood or carving wood so the decorations stands out. Can also mix the two."

Jon loves the view as Olivia blushes making her look all the more attractive. The look on her face as he can see her picturing her self in front of the mirror. Jon's actions so far have just been a attentive merchant wanting to make his customer happy in the chaperone's eyes. Tho it may be a bit to attentive, but nothing objectionable anyways.

Jon then says "Now I need you think of your room, think of where your want it, if the mirror is to be next to a window. Where the window will be to you. Not all windows are the same height, so I will have to size it about off of you where I would normally size it to the wall it self." Jon says in a joking tone but winks when only Olivia can see it "Unless I take the long trip to your home to work." Now lady Cabot I will need you to stand up and show me where about the window is to you if you can think of it, and put your hand where the window base would be about on your body if you where standing next to it." Jon moves to her side with a measuring stick as he puts one end to the floor and the stick touching her hip. His hand holding the front and the back of the stick as his eyes fall now to her hips and belly area. Jon kneels before her as he looks up at a almost pleading look on his face as he says "Try to think of your self in the room, you standing by the window. Think of leaning to the window and where the lower frame will be touching you."

Jon's heart is racing and feels like its about to bust out of his chest. This is the time he knows he may sneak his pinky touching her. Maybe getting to trace her pinky a second or two. Jon's mind racing hoping she will play it right to sneak as close they can get right now to holding hands, while making the touch look innocent. Will she help him make some magic.

"I can choose?" Olivia held back a squeal. There was very little in her life where she got an actual choice. She looked at the stern woman next to her. There seemed to be no objection to this conversation so far, so she dared: "Vines. I like leaves. I like...looking at it and thinking I am outside."

Out of the house, out of the gilded cage...
She did not say that out loud.

"If...oh, I would very much like carvings. To feel them, to run my fingers past it in the dark." She blushed fully now, aware she was possibly giving up too much personal information.

"That's enough." The matron next to her pursed her lips. "You already made your point. A true lady does not have to explain herself."

"Yes, miss." She replied obediently. As for placement, though..."Well, the windows are high. They would be on my left side as I sit in front of this mirror..." She dreamed away a little. "I would love to show you."

"OLIVIA!"

The girl winced. "I meant to show him where this masterpiece would be, miss!"

"Hrmph." The older woman huffed. "I think we're about done here."

Olivia all but shot a look of 'help!' at Jon, hoping he could think of something to keep her here a little longer!

Jon loves hearing the joy in her voice as she gets to chose. Jon nods hearing to make vines, and writes it down with the icon <- -> <-. Jon smiled looking more into Olivia's eyes as his mind fills with her description.
Jon is quick to speak up using facts "Oh yes to get it sized right, for the perfect height, I would need you to show me. I know in some of the lower class homes locally here the windows can be hip height at the base. The upper class homes could have them more in the middle of the belly. As you can see that would be a big difference in height of the side beams here. "

Jon also pointed out. "It would be nice if I could have her sit on a chair. To see how her sitting height would be with it. I would normally be making a chair, table and mirror all at once so they fit together. So just doing one would make this more important on them details." Jon now asks the chaperon "Would she have few more minutes to pick a chair that is about the size of the one at home?"

"Hrm." The older woman lifted her nose as if she smelled something bad.

"Oh please, miss Margareth! You know what papa always says: a job worth doing is worth doing it well!"

"Well..." The pointy nose came down again. "Fine then. But honestly, young man, all this talk about taking measurements...you are not in a position to get to that house, so you had best come up with some creative solutions there."

Olivia stopped herself from a happy bounce. "Where should I sit, sir?" She inquired politely, inwardly thinking hard. He had just made a little joke towards seeing the house...was it a joke? Or...was there such a thing as an overseas job opportunity? She would have to talk to her father!

Jon nods while saying "That is why I need to work with her on getting the height off her as I can not get it physically from the house. Lady Cabot here is my point of reference to work off of as I don't have the wall. While your here, is there anything you need too?" Jon can see how happy Olivia is and he points out a few chairs and benchs and says " "please try them out and see what feels the best height for you."

Jon keeps a friendly but working face as he addresses the chaperone.

After a bit Jon turns his head back looking at Olivia and says "Lady Cabot may I bring this measuring stick along side your body to get the heights?" Jon falls to his knees but keeps his butt off his feet so his head is about her belly high.

Up go the thin eyebrows of miss Margereth. That is a question she did not expect. "Well...um...I...am sure I could think of something, but I need to think of travel-worthy gear, so unfortunately I have to say no." He seemed to have appeased the stern woman somewhat with his polite question.

Meanwhile Olivia sat down, knees neatly together, hands folded in her lap. All a proper young lady. Her face, however, was still flushed with excitement!

"You may measure me." She giggled, sitting up straight while her eyes looked down at that handsome face so close. So very close and yet...so far away.

Jon looks at Olivia and when he feels only she can see his face, he lets all of his joy show threw, as he comes close to her. When Jon thinks the chaperon may see his face, he tried to keep it business like tho still happy, but not overly happy.

Jon has his back to the chaperone as Jon puts his stick along side Oliva and warns her "I will be touching your legs on the side of your dress by the knee just to get a feel where the bend is with all the poofieness. If I get anywhere near you a spot you don't like, please tell me?" Jon shows no signs of fear or worry from Oliva, as he is almost sure she wants him to touch her as much as he wants to touch her. The warning was more a act for the chaperone.

Jon acts quick but taking time to double check his measurements. Working while stalling to stay so close to her. Jon asks Oliva " Lady Cabot where would the table top be about on you as you sit... So I know the base to your head height."

"Thank you most kindly." Olivia inclined her head, her eyes sparkling. Oh, he could touch her all he wanted! She was dying to know what those strong hands would feel like! But...Margareth watched them like a hawk. She remained seated, straight as the measuring stick itself, while she gave Jon the information he needed.

"Ah, the table would be up to...here?" She held a flat hand just over her navel.

Jon put the stick along side her hand. He made a note on a sheet of paper. Then looked at the stick a second time. Jon smiled looking at Oliva from the side as he say " how tall and wide would you like the mirror to be? Did you want the mirror to be to its own little table or to be set on one you get at home?"

Olivia was enjoying the personal attention to a fault. She could not stop blushing and smiling as the man hovered over her on all sides. Her hands grabbed his with the perfect excuse: "Well, if you keep your hand here, then...this would be the perfect width?" She moved his other hand away.

In all truth the young woman had no idea what she was saying. She just...really wanted to feel those hands.

"I am sure you can think of ways to explain it to the young man with words alone, Olivia!" Margareth snapped.

Olivia blushed and let go. "I would love for it to have its own little table..." She told Jon meekly. God, it was hard having the chaperonne around!

When Olivia grabbed Jon's hand. Jon couldn't help but to smile and let her move his hands freely. Jon found him self wishing she would slide his hands under her dress to use on her woman hood, and breasts. Jon's longing and daydream made him get hard, his 2 inch thick and 7 inch long cock pressing hard into his pants. Jon found him self being puddy in her hands.

After the scolding Olivia got from Margareth, Jon nodded and got on his knees before Olivia as he moved his stick to where she had used his hands for the with. Jon is sitting with his face about a head thickness (front to back) from his nose to her knee's.

Jon made a note of the size of the table she wanted and the height of it and the mirror's highs. Jon smiles and says "May I have a address to stop by tomorrow with a drawing before I start the build. It should take me 3 days to build.

The lady's don't know it, but tonight Jon will be visiting Olivia. Jon is playing with the idea of slipping into her room by the window.

"You may call upon mister Cabot in the Silver Birch, room 207." Margareth supplied the information, clearly wanting to be done here already.

Olivia sighed, clearly disappointed. THREE days? THREE days til she could see this handsome fellow again? She did not understand why she felt so attracted to him. Was it because he was so real as opposed to the stuck up, polite men she knew were trying to court her to get into her father's good graces?

"If....you need more information, you can always call on us!" She supplied, earning her another stern look from her chaperonne. Hesitatingly she got up and moved back to miss Margareth's side. "Thank you so much, sir." She curtsied.

"A lady does not curtsy to the working class." Margareth droned.

"Yes miss..."

WIth a last smile they left the shop.

Jon bowed and said " Thank you lady's for your time and the visit. I hope you come back soon." With that Jon whispered to Olivia "Tonight" Jon hoped Olivia seen it and understood the friendly shop keeper's fraze but it also being a secret warning. With Margareth's back turned to him.

Jon's mind was racing. With the excitement of today. The excitement coming up tonight, and few days from now when he gives his gift.

The colour that shot up in her neck might be a fair indication of the young woman hearing Jon's words.

"Until soon then." She beamed a smile as she followed her chaperonne out.

Tonight then...tonight she would have a chance to meet with him in private! But how was he going to do that?

An idea struck her."I do love that inn, miss. The fact that I have my own room is utterly luxury." She talked louder than necessary. Clearly room 207 was the number mister Cabot and his wife stayed at! "And I do adore the fact that I can smell the honeysuckle on the outside ."

There, now he had an idea how to recognize her room from the outside. Guess who was going to leave her window open that night...

Late in the afternoon, Jon had a stop at the same address but for one of the "house carriages" needing some work done. Jon had them leave it out side so he could work more freely rather then in the carriage house, where the carriages are stored with a stable for the horses to pull them for the guests use. Jon could see it would be a good full days work, so that afternoon and next day it would be out of service for the day after that it would be in service again... Well Jon used this out of service carriage as a ladder. Under cover of darkness Jon slipped back to where Olivia would be.. Jon knew her father had room 207 and where about that on the building. Jon stands in the darkness looking for a window open close to it.

Jon smiled as he found it. Jon couldn't have been any more lucky as the carriage was almost under Olivia's window... Jon climbs up on the carriage and peaks into the open window as he sees it is a bedroom window.

Olivia had never noticed how long an afternoon could take. She excused herself for an early night, slipping into her night gown in case anyone would come check on her. Yet the woman could not find sleep.

Tonight, he'd said. Tonight.
Would he actually be that bold?

Just in case the woman left her window open, a sleeve from the dress she had worn that day hanging out so he might recognize it.

She felt nervous.
This was very, very inappropriate behaviour, but she felt alive like never before! This was one big adventure!

Jon was hoping for a clue to what room would be the right one.. He seen part of her dress hanging slightly out of the window. Just enough to be seen, but not enough to draw attention to it. Well not draw attention from a normal person, but this is just what Jon was looking for. It was his beacon. Jon sillently got up on the Carriage then on the roof, then into the window. Jon peaks in the window seeing a woman laying on bed.

Jon didn't know if for sure that is even Olivia, but knew it had to be. What would of the odds be a open window, same dress in this part of the second floor. Jon slipping into the bedroom as he carefully walks into the room. Jon would hate to wake Olivia if she is sleeping. Jon sure don't want to bring anyone in here like her dad...... Jon has never wanted to do anything like this. With each step Jon takes. Jon is amazed at the pull this woman has on him...

She had waited...and waited.
And at some point fallen asleep.
Yet...the sound of someone coming in?Oh, that had her awake in no time!

With a happy gasp she sat up. It was him! What did you say to a nightly intruder who was there more or less on her invitation?

"Hello!" Alright, it was a start. Olivia was afraid to fire up her lamp. They would have to do with the moonlight coming in from the windows. Still she recognized that silhouette. "You actually came..."

Jon smiles as he walks into the bedroom to the bed. Jon is shocked he feels so relaxed being in a woman's bedroom with her state of undress.

Jon sits on the bed and talks softly in a bit more then a whisper saying " Yes, I had to see you again. I needed to talk to you one on one." Jon takes a breath before telling her of the 2 idea's he has.First on being a flause back so she can hide letters and its of that kinda thing. The second was the bigger thing. Jon had to know she would want him to go over seas with them to there house. Even if a servant for a few years... Jon needed to know how special she was to him, and what he would do for her, if she wanted it...

Olivia sat on the bed, hands demurely in her lap. She was unsure of why she felt so strongly about this man or about the fact that she was utterly, completely certain he would not abuse the situation.

Aware of just being in her night gown she was happy enough it wasn't see through. Not in the dark, anyway. As Jon explained his ideas, her mouth fell open.

"You...would indenture yourself? For all those years? Oh goodness...Jon, but...your life! You would be throwing away a life of freedom!"

She wanted to urge him on. She wanted to tell him to do it, to take the plunge. But...could she without feeling guilty over what that would mean?Would she, daughter of a well known man in the upper circles, ever be able to truly be with him?

Maybe if he proved his worth to her father. Maybe if JohnCabot would see what an outstanding man this was...maybe they would stand a chance.

For even after the very short meetings they had had, Olivia knew.
This was the man she wanted to be with.

With the light from the moon dimmly lighting up the room. Jon watched as Olivia sat along side him. Jon could see the joy talking about the mirror/table. Jon could also see the mix of emotion's on Olivia's face as he told her about his plan to be a indentured servant for a span for 5-10 or so years. Jon could see the look of shock then she asked "You...would indenture yourself? For all those years?" Jon just smiled looking into her eyes Olivia saying"Oh goodness...Jon, but...your life! You would be throwing away a life of freedom!" Jon just smiled again never taking his eyes off her. Jon says "I know it will be hard, but it will give us time to be near each other, and to see each other. I have never wanted to be with someone, like I want you. Yes giving up my freedom for a time, as long as I am near you would be well worth it."

Jon knew from talk around town He wouldn't really be looked down on in the new world, but it was a big deal. Jon was sure he wanted it, and Jon needed to know she would want him in the new world too that it wasn't some passing fling. Jon was sure they both wanted a them, and seeing her face as she heard his idea's just confirmed in his mind to want to do this all that much more. Jon could see some worry on her face but more so the joy as they sit on the bed together.

Jon reaches over pulling her hand to the bed as he wiggles his hand under her hand. Jon was very happy in life, and Jon could only see allot more like this. Even if he has to sneak into her room. Jon says " In the light of day, you will have my eye and heart. I will be glad to take the years of debt to work off. As in the night, like now I will be dreaming of. In the night we can be free in this together. To me this is happiness." Jon says in a very serious and adoring tone "I am yours, for as long as you want me. I will do anything it takes to be with you" Jon smiles with a dreamy look on his face.

Jon's mind is racing, as he wants her. Jon knows she wants him. Jon would have never thought to be so bold as too try to sneak around to see a woman. Jon says in a soft but serious and dreamy tone " I was happy loving my work, that was my life never wanting more, till I seen you. Till we talked, I felt live and complete. Knowing you would be back today let me watch you walk away as I knew you wouldn't be walking out of my life. You being so bold to honor me to be so personal with you like this. Gives me hope for a life outside of my work and craft. I will do what ever it takes to be at your side, if only under the night time I can be happy living for moments like this." Jon gulps softly and says "To hold you hand in the light of day is my dream and will be my goal, at what ever the cost. Long as I know I have you."

Jon takes a deep breath and lets his eyes brake the eye contact he was holding. Jon's eyes now searching her face. Jon's body is full of happiness as Jon says "So tomorrow when I come to show the drawing to your dad, I will ask him about taking me on as part of your household. I plan to offer my skills for a time, to work off the cost. He wont need to know you have my heart and dreams. Tonight I will draw up the plan and give him some time to think. I hope you can do anything to help sway him in a favor stand. So you know I will be working for us. I will be happy to let him think I will be working for him... Tomorrow night I can start to work on this token of my heart for you. I will be working late with all my free time on it. It will take a few nights with me only able to work in the night hours on it. The back will have a cut out, so you can hide the letters I plan to write to you. I don't know how I will get them to you at night, but I will find a way so you can hold my words till you can hold me in the light of day."

Jon is at peace knowing the goal is for them. Jon knows to invest and make your dreams come true, so what ever it takes for Jon to make them come true. Is what he will do.

Suddenly there is a tap at the bedroom door. Jon slips under the bed to wait it out and listen.

Olivia listened with growing admiration. "No one has ever...Oh goodness...yes. Please come with us. I will do anything to convince papa!"

A young, romantic soul?
Love at first sight?
Just...wanting to be loved for once?
Who could tell? Either way the girl was utterly sure this had to happen.

"Maybe...when he has seen how wonderful you are...how valuable...maybe I can be with you! Oh, I will do my best to hold off any arranged marriages! I will! I will wait for you."

Ahh, the dreams of youth. How unaware they were that reality would probably interfere.

She held his hand, eyes filled with hope looking up at him...when there was a knock on the door.

A gasp.
A quick reaction from Jon.

The girl smoothed her night gown. "Yes?"

"Is everything alright, miss?" A female voice sounded from the other side. "I thought I heard voices."

Olivia blushed, quickly draping the blanket over the edge of the bed to obscure her visitor. "Everything is fine!"

The door opened.
Her heart all but stopped as the maid came walking in. "Are you sure? You sound a bit off, miss. Are you feeling alright?"

Olivia ran a hand through her hair. "I...was...I had a dream. A strange dream. I thought to calm myself by reciting some poetry out loud."
