Katerina
The two bandits looked at their dead leader and one of their best fighters. They faced a woman and a wounded man, but one bandit had dropped his pants and had not had a chance to pull them back up.
“We surrender” One bandit said as both of them dropped their weapons.
Katerina grabbed their weapons as Theo came over and made sure they did not try anything. Soon both men were tied up. With the dangerous situation resolved, Katerina was able to examine Theo’s head wound.
“I think you will live, thanks to your hard head.” Katerina joked.
Theo grunted in pain. Maybe because Katerina touched his sensitive bruise or more likely her bad joke.
“I’m just saying, this is a warning from the gods not to let your ego over take over your common sense. Chasing bandits into the woods on horseback! Not the best tactic.” She teased him.
“I’ll go find our horses” Katerina explained as she got up. She used a piece of leather to tie close her vest, covering up her large chest. Then she grabbed the best knife and short sword from the bandit’s weapon pile. Finally, she grabbed her bow and placed it on her back. There was something very special about the bow. It was clearly blessed by the gods. When she got a chance, she needed to test its abilities.
It did not take long to find the horses and she returned to Theo quickly. She had not seen any other member of Theo’s company. Besides the two tied up bandits, it seemed like Katerina and Theo had the forest to themselves.
