Ever since the day seven years ago when Emmy accidentally saw her supposedly straight aunt having sex with another woman she'd been unable to forget about it. Emmy had never told anyone what she saw that day, nor had she and her aunt ever spoken about it, even though Emmy was sure that her aunt had seen her standing there at the window. A year after it had happened Tammy had divorced her husband and moved to New York. They'd talked a few times on the phone when her aunt had called to talk to Emmy's dad, Tammy's brother, and they were friends on Facebook, but other than that, they'd had no contact. Now Emmy was 21 and had just recently moved to New York herself. She had planned on trying to get in contact with her aunt once she got settled in, but what she hadn't expect was to run into her aunt at a night club her first week in the city.

And yet, there she was at the end of the bar, green and blue lights dancing across her skin and hair. Emmy was sure it was her. Despite the six years that had passed since the last time they'd seen one another, Tammy looked as beautiful and confident and elegant as ever.

"Excuse me," someone said from behind Emmy. Suddenly she realized that she had just stopped where she was when she first saw her aunt across the room. She was blocking access to the restrooms. Excusing herself she stepped out of the doorway and one step closer to the bar.

Why am I so nervous? the brunette wondered to herself as she glanced down at the little black dress she was wearing. She's my aunt. There's no reason I shouldn't just walk up to her and say hello and give her a hug. I was planning on catching up with her soon anyway, right? It all sounded good, but there was no denying that Emmy's stomach was full of butterflies. And she knew why. Because seven years ago she had seen something she wasn't supposed to see. Something private. Something intimate. Something secret.

And whether she'd understood it at the time, she couldn't deny now that she'd never seen anything as sexy or as arousing as the sight of Tammy in bed with that other woman. She'd never been able to get that image out of her head. In fact, the image was still at the front of her mind as she finally made her way through the crowd toward the spot where her aunt stood.

"Aunt Tammy?" Emmy said as she moved in behind her aunt, her voice barely loud enough to be heard over the music that filled the club.

Tammy was having a night out with a friend who was in the city for a few days for work. It was her last night here and so they had decided to go out clubbing. Tammy hadnt been out to a club for such a long time she was actually excited to go. Even to the extent that she had gone out earlier that day shopping, buying herself a new dress. A little one shoulder, chiffon, sequined dress.

They had gone out for dinner before hand and then onto a club that her friend had been told about. The music was almost deafening and Tammy had to lean over and literally talk right into her friends ear to be heard. She told her she was heading to the restroom, her friend just nodding as Tammy turned and pushing her way through the crowd headed across the club.

The restroom provided at least a little comfort from the music. She heard her name and she at first thought it was her friend but she said 'Aunt'. Tammy twirled around and smiled "Emmy?" she said almost questioning as she saw her standing in front of her. Hugging her and then letting her go her hands still holding her shoulders "What are you doing here Emmy?"

"Well, actually, as of this week I'm officially a resident of New York," Emmy explained, smiling from ear to ear even as she felt her face flushed slightly from the embrace that Tammy had just given her. "I've taken an internship at a law firm in the city."

"I can't believe I bumped into you like this," she continued, "I was going to send you a message or call you once I got settled so that we could have lunch or catch a movie or something, if you weren't too busy of course. Not that I have your number, but I figured that Dad would have it. He's probably anxious to talk to you anyway, probably hoping to have you keep an eye on me, to make sure I don't get swallowed up by the big city."

God, Emmy, why are you talking so fast and rambling...stop acting like a schoolgirl, you're just a young woman saying hello to her aunt, an aunt that you were once close to...so what if you saw...

"How have you been? Are you here with someone?" Emmy asked, taking a deep, calming breath.

She smiled as she saw Emmy seeing how all grown up she had been since the last time she had seen her. "Yes your dad had mentioned it, I was going to tell him to tell you to get in touch with me. No need too now" Hugging you again.

"Yes, I came with a friend, how about you are you out with friends too? I really cant believe this, in a middle of a city of 8 million people I manage to bump into you like this."

I turn and start to leave the restroom "And you look so good too" I slip my hand into yours as we walk out back towards the club "I have to go back to my friend, she is just in the city, she leaves tomorrow."

Walking back out suddenly the loud music surrounds us once more.

Feeling her aunt's warm hand slip into her own, Emmy smiled despite the shiver of goosebumps that seemed to burst forth on the surface of her skin. She knew she was being silly to feel so awkward around Tammy, so jumpy at her touch. She'd known dozens if not hundreds of lesbians in the last seven years, and been perfectly comfortable around each and every one.

This was different though, no denying it. Ever since that day at the family gathering, since that moment when she'd stood at the window and looked in only to see her beautiful, charming aunt on her knees behind her lover, her hands on the other woman's hips, her breasts bare and heaving, ever since the moment Tammy had looked up and locked eyes with Emmy she had occupied a special place in Emmy's sexual awakening. That moment had been forever etched in Emmy's memory, a shining example of what sex and lust and desire was all about. And every sexual encounter, every relationship that Emmy had had since then had been compared to it, willingly or not.

And they'd all paled in comparison. That was the crux of the problem. Regardless of whether it was a man or woman, none of Emmy's partners had every managed to make her feel what she felt that day. None of the had ever looked at her the way Tammy had looked at her through the window...

Still wrapped in thought, Emmy followed her aunt back into the heart of the club, oblivious to the throng of people surrounding them. "Dance with me," she suddenly said, pulling Tammy into the writhing mass of bodies on the dance floor. "Please," she begged as she stepped close to Tammy and began to sway her hips, her hand still holding her aunt's hand.

All of a sudden they were back in the middle of the club with people all around them. She heard Emmy ask her to dance. And even as she started Tammy leaned into her talking into her ear as it was once again the only way to be heard.

"I have to go tell my friend first" Tammy said nodding, but not letting go of Emmy's hand they pushed there way across the dance floor to the bar where she found her friend chatting to the guy behind the bar. She smiled as she saw Tammy making her way through the crowd.

Tammy leaned into her "My niece" she said introducing her to her friend, "We are going to dance" she added and smiled at the guy behind the bar.

Turning back to Emmy she smiled "One dance then I need another drink" Tammy shouted as she let herself be lead back onto the dancefloor.

As Emmy and Tammy made their way back to the dance floor, having said hello to Tammy's friend at the bar, Emmy briefly wondered whether her aunt and the other woman were more than just friends, but then they were surrounded by bouncing, writhing bodies and all Emmy could focus on was Tammy. They danced close to one another, partially because they wanted to be able to talk, which was difficult with the pounding music, but also because they had little choice with the sheer number of people that occupied the dance floor.

At first Emmy was hesitant, so aware of her aunt's body, the closeness to her own, the way her hips moved, the way her breasts bounced, that she couldn't relax, but eventually she became more comfortable. All the bodies pressed together, moving in time with the music, it was hot but Emmy didn't care. She didn't care that she was starting to sweat a little or that she was starting to let loose a little. She felt herself moving closer and closer to Tammy until her body was actually brushing against the other woman's body and each time it happened she found herself wanting to reach out and touch her aunt, to let her hands move to the other woman's hips, or her shoulders, or to let her hand caress her cheek. The temptation was maddening.

"It's been a long time since I've really danced," Emmy admitted, leaning close to Tammy's ear, her hand gently resting on the older woman's hip. "Do you go dancing often?"

They danced, the dance floor was so full of other people, she was getting bumped around all the time. She smiled at Emmy, shouting out "What?" as she saw her speaking but couldnt hear over the noise of the music and the other people.

Leaning forward she felt Emmy's hand on her hip and she put her own hand on Emmy's shoulder leaning in to her so that she could hear her. Pulling back she shook her head and then it was her turn to lean in, talking right into Emmy's ear with her own hands holding onto Emmy.

"No, not often, tonight wasnt even my idea, but it was her last night and she wanted to go dancing"

Tammy explained, almost shouting over the noise. Then the music stopped, people cheered, and then more music. Tammy reached down and took Emmy's hand, "Drink" she shouted. And squeezing a little at Emmy's hand she started to lead them back off the dance floor back towards the bar.

Pushing through all the people they finally got back to where her friend was still chatting with the guy behind the bar. Tammy had said straight away that she thought he was cute. Getting through all the people she put her arm around Emmy as they walked up the guy smiling as he saw them both.

He asked them if they wanted something to drink as Tammy turned to Emmy, "What would you like?" She asked still with her arm around her.

Breathless, and sweating slightly, Emmy gladly followed her aunt off of the dance floor and back to the bar. She needed the break to catch her breath and to regain her composure. She could still feel goosebumps on her arms from the moment when Tammy had leaned in to talk into her ear, the other woman's lips brushing ever so slightly against Emmy's ear, her breath hot.

The brunette couldn't help but notice that her aunt's friend was still chatting with the man behind the bar. She definitely seemed to be into him, which meant most likely she and Tammy really were just friends, she thought to herself. Funny how that thought made her feel relieved and tense at the same time.

"What would you like?" she heard Tammy ask.

"Just water for me," Emmy answered, loving the fact that her aunt had her arm around her waist. It seemed so affectionate, so intimate a gesture, maybe even a little protective. Whatever it was, Emmy didn't want it to stop.

As they waited for the bartender to return with their drinks, she leaned closer to Tammy and whispered into her ear, "I've missed you. I wish...I wish I hadn't waited so long to come to New York..."

"Just water?" Tammy said but smiled as the guy walked off and brought them both back a drink. The guy went back to talking to her friend and Tammy turned to Emmy.

"Why did you then? You knew I was here, you could have come and visited anytime you wanted?"

She heard a laugh from next to her and turned to see her friend reaching over the bar holding the hand of the guy and she smiled shaking her head a little.

"I knew this was why she wanted to go out," she returned talking to Emmy. "Did you come here alone? I must have taken you away from your friends I'm so sorry Emmy."

"Why did you then? You knew I was here, you could have come and visited anytime you wanted?" Tammy asked.

Because I didn't know if you would want to see me, and because I didn't really understand my feelings about you or trust myself not to do something stupid...and I still don't...

"It doesn't matter, right? I'm here now," Emmy answered before taking a sip of her water.

"Did you come here alone? I must have taken you away from your friends I'm so sorry Emmy," she heard her Aunt say.

"Actually, I came by myself," Emmy replied, smiling. "Which means I'm all yours, Aunt Tammy." Emmy slipped her own arm around the other woman's waist and took another sip of water from her glass. The way they were standing, so close, Emmy was keenly aware that her left breast was brushing against Tammy's right breast.

"So what now? More dancing? Or would I could show you my apartment if you want. It's close by," Emmy suggested. "I'm up for whatever you want to do."

Her arm around Emmy she glanced back at her friend, watching as she leant over kissing the guy, and she turned back to Emmy. "I sure have had enough dancing for one night."

Tammy took a step away, slipping from Emmy's arm but she reached out catching her hand in her own as she walked back over to her friend tapping her on the shoulder she leaned in whispering to her and smiled at the guy. Waving back at both of them she turned back to Emmy.

"Let's get out of here" Tammy said with a smile holding her niece's hand.

Emmy couldn't help but smile from ear to ear as she and Tammy stepped out of the night club onto the New York sidewalk, still hand in hand. The air was crisp, but it felt good to be out of the loud, stuffy club. It felt even better to be leaving with her aunt.

"So, where should we go? My apartment's not far if you want to see it...or we could always get something to eat..." Emmy asked wanting desperately to be alone with her aunt but not wanting to be too obvious about it.

Stepping out onto the street, suddenly the noise changed from loud music to the sound of horns and traffic.

The walked, heels clicking on the cement. Stopping waiting for the lights and then crossing when the red hand changed to a white person.

"Oh I'm not hungry, though if you want to stop and grab something to eat I dont mind. I'm just happy to be out of that place"

Tammy smiled down at her hands holding Emmy's. "Do you live alone?" she asked.

"Yes," Emmy answered as they crossed the street and moved in the direction of her apartment building. "I told mom and dad that I could find a roommate but they didn't like the sound of me sharing a place with a stranger so they are helping me out with the rent for now."

Despite the hour, the sidewalk was still thick with people moving in every possible direction, and cars filled the streets. As they reached the next corner and waited for the light to change, Emmy found herself watching her aunt whose attention was on the traffic. She was still just as gorgeous as Emmy remembered, just as sexy, just as vibrant...

The blaring of a car horn brought the brunette back to the moment, "So what about you? How have you been? What part of the city are you living in now? Are you seeing anyone?"

They walked up the street, through the crowds of people, stopping at each and every street corner waiting for the lights to turn.

"Oh I've been here just over a year now. I live down in the east village."

They crossed another street walking further. "No, not seeing anyone. Are you Emmy?" Crossing one more street the sounds of horns all around them. "No boyfriend?"

Emmy was still processing the news that her aunt was unattached, or rather, processing her reaction to the news, when Tammy asked about her own situation. "No, I had a boyfriend, Matt, but we broke up a few months before I moved here," she answered. "I didn't feel like doing the long distance thing and we weren't really right for each other anyway."

A few moments later they reached Emmy's apartment building and she punched in her door code. A loud clicking noise signaled the release of the door lock and the brunette pulled the door open and stepped aside to allow her aunt to enter the building. As Emmy followed Tammy in, she placed her hand on the small of the other woman's back and ushered her toward the elevator.

As they stepped into the elevator, Emmy reached across her aunt's body to press the button for the fifth floor, her breasts brushing lightly against Tammy's chest. Emmy felt a tingle dance up her spine and she couldn't suppress the smile that crept across her face as she stood shoulder to shoulder with the beautiful, older woman.

There heels clicked on the polished floor of the entry to her building and Tammy, exhausted and drunk leant against the wall. The brush of Emmy's arm against her made her jump a little and she felt her nipple harden.

She watched as Emmy pressed the button and as they waited Tammy leaned back against the wall 'god I'm so tired Em' she said smiling at her niece as she stood in front of her. 'Its a shame about Matt, but now you are free and single to go and have some fun' Tammy said with a smile as she heard the ding sound to announce the arrival of the elevator. The doors opened and they stepped inside Emmy pushing the button for her floor.

'god I need some water' Tammy said as the elevator rose.

The short ride up to the fifth floor seemed like an eternity to Emmy, and when the elevator finally dinged to signal that they had arrived, the young woman grasped hold of her aunt's hand and pulled her through the doors which hadn't even opened all the way. Just two doors down was Emmy's apartment. After quickly unlocking the three sets of locks on the door, the brunette led Tammy into the modest, dimly lit apartment.

"It's not much, but make yourself comfortable," Emmy said motioning toward the nearby couch which sat in front of a small television, a low table between them. "I'll get you some water and be right back."

Tammy smiled almost running with Emmy as they left the elevator, hand in hand, she even squeezed the hand of her nience. As soon as they got in through the door she slipped out of her shoes and walked in, over the hard wood floors and rugs. "Its a nice place you have" she said watching as Emmy walked into the kitchen.

She sat down on the couch "Oh god that feels good to be off my feet" she said to no one in particular as she sat on one end of the couch. The room spinning a little from the nights drinking.

Sitting up she took the glass of water as it was offered, 'Mmm thanks' she said taking a sip and then resting it in her lap. "It is a nice little place you have, just right for the one of you" she said with a smile looking up at Emmy.

As Emmy stood over her aunt, holding a glass of ice water in her hand, looking down at the beautiful woman on her couch, she suddenly found herself wishing she had chosen to drink something other than water at the club before they left, at least then she would have some excuse for the feelings that were bubbling to the surface. The desire she was feeling to lean down over Tammy and kiss her was almost overwhelming, the desire to explain to her aunt how long she had wished she could find her and...and...what...

"I saw you that day at your house, with your friend, in the bedroom..." Emmy heard her voice saying the words but it was almost as if they were coming from someone else or from a great distance. God, did I just tell her that? She's gonna think I'm crazy, or she's gonna be so embarrassed she will make some excuse and leave.

Still shocked that she had chosen to broach the subject in such an awkward manner, Emmy stood frozen in front of Tammy, the glass of ice water outstretched.

Tammy sat there drinking the water, as she heard what Emmy said she stopped and rested the glass on her lap. "Sit down Emmy" she said and she patted the seat next to her.

Tammy leaned over putting the glass of water down as her niece sat next to her and she turned towards her. "I'm sorry that you saw me like that." She began looking down at her hands in her lap. "I like girls, women. Just like I like guys too..." she said and then stopped looking back down once more 'god this was harder then i ever thought it would be' Tammy thought to herself before looking back up at Emily once more.

"Emily, I'm sorry if what you saw offended you in anyway and you should have come to me before then. I really didnt mean for you to see me like that..." Tammy spoke quickly and then just stopped looking at her niece. When she didnt speak Tammy glanced around, "Should I leave?" she asked.

"This isn't going at all how I imagined," Emmy said, shaking her head. "I...I...I never meant to embarrass you. It's just that..."

Frustrated that she had brought up the incident from her childhood, and even more frustrated that she hadn't managed to explain why it was so important to her, Emmy took a deep breath, then scooted closer to her aunt and reached for her hands.

"I saw you that day and it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen," she started slowly, her voice barely more than whisper as she held Tammy's hands gently in her own.

"Ever since that day, I've wanted to tell you how beautiful you are and...I don't know...how sexy you are. Ever since that day I've wanted to...kiss you and..." Emmy grew quiet, unable to finish her thought, her cheeks growing red. "You probably think I'm just this silly little girl, but..."

Tammy reachd over and placed her finger softly on Emmy's lips as she stopped talking and she squeezed her hands and she could feel her shaking. Tammy smiled.

"Well first of all thank you, for the compliments." she smiled looking over at Emmy, "and you didnt embarass me. I just thought..." she paused for a second, "well I was scared that you might have been offended, I guess I know differently now.

Tammy managed a smile as she looked over at Emmy, at her niece, her sisters daughter. Her hand moved from the finger on her lips to all her fingers touching gently againt Emmy's cheek and feeling the heat from them.

"Emmy, you are a very very beautiful young woman. And far more sexy" Tammy laughed a little as she moved over towards her. She sat by her side putting her arm around her. "Its just that...." she took a deep breath, "its just that, I'm your aunt. But if I wasnt your aunt I would have kissed you already." Tammy had begun to talk quickly and as the last words came out of her mouth she could feel her heart already racing as she heard what she was saying and she glanced down at Emmy, smiling as she saw Emmy looking back up at her. "So I dont know what to do." Tammy added.

As she listened to Tammy's words, Emmy slowly felt her heart breaking. She couldn't be sure whether her aunt was being honest when she said that she would have already kissed her under different circumstances, but even if that was true, all that mattered was that she was rejecting her. The reasons didn't matter. Crestfallen, Emmy looked down at the floor, wondering what she should say, what she could say without sounding completely lame.

"Couldn't we just pretend for tonight that we're not...who we are," Emmy finally said, her voice on verge of breaking. "Just two strangers who met at a club and decided that they wanted to get to know each other better?"
