Ever since the day seven years ago when Emmy accidentally saw her supposedly straight aunt having sex with another woman she'd been unable to forget about it. Emmy had never told anyone what she saw that day, nor had she and her aunt ever spoken about it, even though Emmy was sure that her aunt had seen her standing there at the window. A year after it had happened Tammy had divorced her husband and moved to New York. They'd talked a few times on the phone when her aunt had called to talk to Emmy's dad, Tammy's brother, and they were friends on Facebook, but other than that, they'd had no contact. Now Emmy was 21 and had just recently moved to New York herself. She had planned on trying to get in contact with her aunt once she got settled in, but what she hadn't expect was to run into her aunt at a night club her first week in the city.
And yet, there she was at the end of the bar, green and blue lights dancing across her skin and hair. Emmy was sure it was her. Despite the six years that had passed since the last time they'd seen one another, Tammy looked as beautiful and confident and elegant as ever.
"Excuse me," someone said from behind Emmy. Suddenly she realized that she had just stopped where she was when she first saw her aunt across the room. She was blocking access to the restrooms. Excusing herself she stepped out of the doorway and one step closer to the bar.
Why am I so nervous? the brunette wondered to herself as she glanced down at the little black dress she was wearing. She's my aunt. There's no reason I shouldn't just walk up to her and say hello and give her a hug. I was planning on catching up with her soon anyway, right? It all sounded good, but there was no denying that Emmy's stomach was full of butterflies. And she knew why. Because seven years ago she had seen something she wasn't supposed to see. Something private. Something intimate. Something secret.
And whether she'd understood it at the time, she couldn't deny now that she'd never seen anything as sexy or as arousing as the sight of Tammy in bed with that other woman. She'd never been able to get that image out of her head. In fact, the image was still at the front of her mind as she finally made her way through the crowd toward the spot where her aunt stood.
"Aunt Tammy?" Emmy said as she moved in behind her aunt, her voice barely loud enough to be heard over the music that filled the club.
