I am tired, very tired, the last few days have been tough. its been four days since I've seen some sun. The rain has started to seep into the deepest parts of my pack, the part where I keep my blanket, the part that should stay dry. I know I can't sleep in the open with a wet blanket, I'll have to look for an inn

just great, now I'm so low on money

the sun has started to set when I finally come to a crossing. The in is small, but there is smoke coming from the chimney, and the smell of food is heavy in the air.

some warmth at last!

even though I have to be carefull with my money, I'm glad to be sleep in a bed tonight. I take my things out of the bag In the room I rented to let them dry. After that, I go down to the common room and order a meal and an nice beer.
I look around the room, and that's when I see her...

It had been a long, tiresome night for myself. The lengthy car ride to the inn that I was currently staying in, in the pouring rain, on my way out of the state, was much more than I could handle. I was beat, and the only thing currently keeping me awake was the warm cup of coffee that I had my delicate hands wrapped so comfortingly around. I sit alone, at a table meant for two, in the common room of the inn, occasionally taking a small sip from the coffee cup, but otherwise staring blankly at the fire place across the way. It crackled and popped as the smoke rose through the chimney and out into the chilly air. It took me a few seconds to notice the man through my peripheral vision, staring at me a few tables over. I turn my head ever so slightly to glance at him, making eye contact for a brief moment, the corner of my lips pulling into an angelic smile.

the eye contact can only have lasted a few miliseconds, but her smile has burned itself on my retina. A little confused, I start eating my meal, and though it's good, I hardly taste it... All the while, I keep glancing in her direction, but she doesn't look at me again... When I've finished my meal, the inkeep asks me if I want another beer, absently, I nod, realizing to late that my moneystack is growing dangerously thin...
I get out my wrinting pad, the letters on the first few pages are blurry, the rain didn't spare anything!

Damn

I start rewriting the first pages, and still, I can't catch her glance.
then suddenly our eyes make contact oncemore....

As I keep my hesitant gaze locked on everything but the man who is clearly still looking my way, I distract myself by flipping through a brochure that had been so conveniently left on the table. I take a few more sips of my coffee, sighing softly as I notice that it is beginning to get cold. I briefly direct my attention to a waiter passing by with the large mug of coffee, waving my cup in front of him to receive a refill. Once I thank the waiter and he steps away, a lift the cup of coffee to my lips, taking a sip of the hot, freshly brewed beverage as my eyes lock with the man once again, over the rim of the cup. This time, I don't dare to look away so quickly.

she is looking at me with radiant eyes, sipping her coffee. She doesn't avert her eyes, she doesn't speak, she just looks at me. I look back at her, and take in her appearence. I try to look calm... and though I might be able to keep up the appearence, Inside she is making me nervous...
I take another sip fom my beer and decide to take a leap... sometimes one has to jump to see if at the bottom of the cliff is a warm sea or a concrete floor...
I get up and walk over to her table. I put up my best smile, trying to hide my nervousness

Hi, my name's Thom, may I join you?

The eye contact remains constant as I set my cup of coffee back on the table. Within just a matter of minutes, I watch the man as he begins to get up, making his way over to my table. What do I do? What do I say? I've never been the shy type when it comes to men, but there's something about him that's different, almost mysterious. I look up at him as he pauses beside the empty chair, asking if he may join. It takes me a couple of seconds to collect my thoughts, to nod my head.

"Oh, but of course." I nod my head once again, assuring him that it's alright. I catch a glimpse of his smile as he sits down, my lips imitating his as they form a smile of their own. "I'm Alexia, by the way." I introduce myself as I extend my hand to him.

The tension rises as she seems to hestitate, but then her smile returns and she introduces herself as Alexia... what a mysterious name... she extends her hand and I take it. Her hand is warm and soft to touch... I hold it for a short while, longer perhaps thans is expected, but not so lang as to make her uncomfortable. I sit down on the chair opposite of her, and for a while we both are quiet. I stare into her eyes over the flame of the oil lamp... the hearth radiates its warmth over us... and for the first time this day, I feel a little les tired

Nice to be someplace warm after these cold days, isn't it?

Upon the man releasing my hand, I return it to it's comfortable spot, wrapped around my warm cup of coffee as we sit in silence, our eye contact holding steady. With any other person, this maybe be awkward, but for some odd reason, I feel as if I am sitting across from an old friend, despite just meeting him. As he speaks, his voice rings above all the other noises surrounding us; the crackle of the fire, the multiple conversations floating around us. I nod my head to his words, my eye brow lifting the slightest bit.

"Very much so. I was on my way out of town, but I've just grown so tired of being out and about."

the sounds and warmth and visual impressions are forming themselfs around us like a bubble, they are there, but they do not invade ar private space, this table that has become a meeting place of two souls that seem to be in sync with eachother. my nervousnes is rededing...

yes, that goes for me as well the rain and cold were starting to get to me, every person needs some warmth and some company every once in a wile don't you think?

I sit there with my coffee cup in hand, listening to the genuine man sitting across from me. His disheveled appearance isn't so much so that he comes off as careless, but even more mysterious and alluring. I clear my throat before beginning to speak.

"I absolutely do. I cannot remember the last civilized conversation I've had with another."

she is sitting there, talking, with her hands still wraped around her coffee cup. Her voice is sof like a distant music, and her words sound a little sad. I don't want her to be sad... I silently long to feel her warm hands again, and twice I move to put my hands on hers, twice I break the motion befor it started, afrad to brak this fragile magical moment...

Sometimes, civilized conversations can be hard to get by... altough, I think that people who are on a journey are better conversation partners, a journey frees the mind...

I take a few more sips of my coffee as I listen to his speak, finishing it off before sliding it to the edge of the table and resting my hands in front of me. I intertwine my fingers together to keep them warm, considering my only source of warmth in now gone. My eyes narrow slightly at the man as I scrutinize his words, knowing exactly what he means by people on a journey being better conversation partners.

"You are exactly right. I've been on a journey my entire life, and I have only stumbled across a mere handful of others like myself."

her hands are on the table now, inviting. She has been on a journey all her life... imagine what these pretty eyes have seen in all that time... they are deep eyes, knowing ones... I finally overcome my fear and put my hands over hers, revelling at he warmth.

I've been on such a journey as well, of sorts, although my actual travels only started a year ago. I think my journey started wenn I was little, and my father took me to the city archives... I 've met a few very interesting people since then... But it's been a long time indeed since I last spoke to another traveler

I couldn't stop my lips from curling into a soft smile as his hands fell upon my own, their warmth a very comforting feeling. My gaze fell upon them for a brief second before lifting to meet his eyes once again. I listened intently to his as he explained his whereabouts, as I was completely interested in hearing stories from other travelers such as myself. It formed some sort of immediate connection between him an I, one that I could not possible put into words.

"I escapes the confines of my parent's home when I was just a girl. Cooped up in a small town, it wasn't for me." I shook my head at the mere thought of my former living arrangements. "I had no destination. Still don't, for that matter. Just.. wandering."

I am relieved to notice that the magic didn't break, if anything, it got stronger. her smile a silent aprovel of the touch Her hands feel nice and warm under mine, and I can feel her pulse synchronising with mine... She tells of her need to escape, and of the sorrows and pleasures of leaving behind ones home.... I turn around her hands, so the palms face upward, and start carressing and tickling them with my fingers.

some peolpe mistake it for a cliche... that it's about the journey, not the destination, but they are mistaken... it's a Truth. The view at the top of the mountain is nice, but all the valleys that you pass, and all the silent streams, they make the journey worthwhile...

I watch as he flips my hands over, his fingertips gently brushing themselves along my skin, the smile still remaining on my lips. I continue to watch him as he speaks, his words flowing together almost like a poem. At first, I can do nothing but nod. His words seem to speak my thoughts exactly; the thoughts that I have had my entire life. It takes a few beats before I am able to say something.

"That.. that is exactly what I have thought all this time. When I told my mother I was leaving, she thought I was crazy. Swore that once I got where I was headed, I wouldn't be able to survive on my own. But look who's living now."

oh yes... she is alive... her skin is warm and soft like liquid fire... I love to touch her hands like this... She gets me, she agrees with me, it's been so long since anyone understood me... Her Eyes are still fixed on mine, even though I feel we have a connection, it is hard to perceive what she is thinking...

that is especialy true when the journey has no defined final goal. If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable... but if the journey has no preset port... all winds are favorable... look where the wind and rain brougt me today, I did not sail for this port, yet I ended up here, and I met you...

As I listened carefully to him speak, I could feel my smile slowly transforming into a grin. I had never met someone so insightful, who could turn my very thougts into words. I squeezed his hand gently in my own as I unwillingly tore my gaze away from his for a moment to look down at our hands

"Clearly, the winds can take you to the greatest of places."

her hand squeezing mine is like an invitation, like she is alowing me to come forth and share this newfound companionship more closely. I move closer to her and softly touch her cheek.

the wind took me especially to a wonderful person

I smiled the second I felt his fingertips fall ever so gently against my cheek. For the shortest moment, I allowed my eyes to drift shut, feeling the warmth of his hand before returning my gaze to meet his.

"That it did."

there is really nothing left to say, all that had to be said is said. I see her smile grow even warmer the second my hand touches her face and her eyes close...
I slowly bring my face closer to hers, Our noses touch... I close my eyes, my lips brush hers

I took in his scent the moment our noses touch. It's a comforting, musky aroma that nearly sends my head spinning. The moment I feel his lips brush against my own, I couldn't stop myself from leaning forward to close the small gap between them.

Our lips touch, and my sensens explode in a thousand collours, there is no Inn, nor are there any people arround. There is only her, and her fiery lips... I slowly put my other hand on her waist,. her perfume smells of lavender and summery fields...

I couldn't help but smile against his lips as they fell against my own. I allowed my hand to fall along his, which was draped over my waist. My eyes close heavily as I take in the sensation of every aspect of our connections; the smells, the feeling, my heart beating abnormally through my chest. It had been so long since I had ever felt even close to how I did, at that very moment.

I feel her respond to the kiss with her whole body, her hand covers mine on her waist, sending an electrical feeling trough my skin. Her lips ar so soft... and warm. softly, very softly I touch them with my tounge, hoping she'll grant me entrance...
