A Prince's Wants (closed)

He felt her nudge him, and heard her voice. He slowly opened his eyes, preparing to slap her soundly, when he heard the sound of clashing steel. He rose from his cot

“Cover yourself woth something then follow me” he told her. He was curious to see what the sounds was but if she had woken him for something stupid she would pay for it there and then

He grabbed the sword he had by his bedstand, then buckled the belt. And without seeing how ready she was, he stepped out

“Guard what is that noise” he asked if the man by his door

“Don’t know sir. Haven’t heard a call to arms yet though

“Well I’m having a look” he said then headed down the hall, following the occasional clash. Two turns done the hall he heard the call to arms go up

“Hmmmm” he thought to himself, looking back for the first time to see that she had he time to throw her night shift on, and that was all. She had been right though. This was no good

“We must hurry. He led her down and around, coming across a half covered hall that opened onto the guards courtyard, and the quickest way to the dungeon

There in the torchlight he saw is prisoner forced to his knees in front of another wildling. And without pre amble, he drove his sword into the mountain Kong’s heart. His slave cried out and the man looked up

That’s when he noticed more mountain men pouring through the side port. And he saw the lieutenant guard holding the door open

“Whaaa” he have said aloud before he heard footsteps of men pouring up the nearest stairwell

“Shit! Quickly” he said as he ran past his slave, grabbing her wrist and towing her behind him as he raced down the halls. The guards were in on it?!?!!! He wasn’t safe here. They had to run

Aelia did as told covering herself and followed behind the prince as they made their way to the dungeon. What she saw shocked her into an almost frozen state. Her uncle driving a sword into her father. “DADDY! “ she nearly raced over to his lifeless father but was pulled by the prince as he insisted that they run. Apparently his guards weren’t as loyal to him as he thought and Aelia got a bitter sort of pleasure out of that.

However the thought that her uncle had been the one to shed her fathers death had not gone amiss to the princess. Try as hard as she could she couldn’t stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks. Her father was dead, the man who had raised her was gone. What did that mean for her?

If her father was dead and her uncle the murderer, did that mean she had no hope of being saved? “W-where are you taking us?” She sniffled.

He was frustrated, and honestly a little taken aback. He had thought these mountain folk were a hard people. She had, after all, taken to her new status rather well, but to see her practically reduced to sobbing!?!

He dragged her behind him, needing her now as insurance, he looked over his shoulder rtonsee if they were followed. He saw no one, but he heard much

“I’m getting us somewhere safe

He led them a long way back to his room, but just as he was about to rush down the gal to his rooms, he saw the lieutenant. He saw him drive his short sword into the guard at his door!!

What was this. This was a coupe!?!?

“Shit” he growled thinking of how he could get out. And where they would go!!

Quickly they took the servants paths. The back stairs and back halls of the castle that he had explored well as a kid, and needed in order to live

They wound there way to the kitchens, and out into the stables. There were pack horses there for delivering and fetching food. And there was food. He grabbed what he could and threw it into a sack. Then they rushed to the stables where he grabbed a horse, saddling it quickly

Glancing around, thank the gods. He saw a bow woth a quiver hung on a nail he grabbed that, pulled himself to the horse and climbed on. He reached down behind himself and looked to her

“Come with me if you wish to live “

Aelia has followed behind the prince every step of the way and tried to shed no more tears for her father. The prince only seemed to be irritated by that and if her uncle was no longer her ally she needed as many as she could find even if in the most unlikeliest of places.

After all he had food, a horse, and probably somewhere far safer than here. “I suppose I have no choice, do I?”

When he didn’t answer, she grabbed his hand and he pulled her up onto the horse. She wrapped her arm around his waist as he took off for safety wherever that was.

They moved quietly at fisrt, trying not to draw any eyes in the courtyard, but that lasted only moments. A crybcane up from a band of mountain men that were running through the castle, having seen them from across the yard

He gave the horse a kick and gave the reigns a tug. Soon they were racing through the streets, charging towards the postern gate

Someone had already opened the gate, civilians likely fleeing, and the small gate was just wide enough for them to ride through

“Get low” he shouted as he leaned down by the horses neck, and the two flew through it. In moments they were in the Kong’s forest, on a deer trail he had used to hunt. The clashing sounds far gone as he slowly brought he horse to a stop near a lake. There was a small cave there that they could pass the night in

The horse stopped and he turned to his slave? His captive? His ally?

“There is a place ahead we can rest for tonight. You and I need to decide what we are doing” he told her as he looked at her. He hopped off his horse, and offered a hand up to help her down

She hesitated, so he reached up and grabbed her by the wrist. He pulled her towards the water, the mist from the falls began to make her thin robe cling tight to her body, as he looked back, he saw the horse step to the water and begin drinking

As he pulled her towards the falls, she stopped, yanking her hand free from him

“What the hell are you doing!!”
