A question...are you left-handed?

I can't resolve your sizzor issue, i'm sorry...

But i can say in my own defence i'm a VERY VERY spacial thinker. show me a map and i can get anywhere, give me directions and i draw a map with them instead of think of the words. I'm right handed... I see things in my head and often i can't verbially describe them.

I think it's more what you do with the hand that makes it good or bad than which hand it is... I like to believe i can do a lot of... good... with my hands.

It would be an intresting experement to bind the dominant hand of the submissive and have them to perform with the non-dominant hand.

It's funny... i can't help but think of all the times i've come to class late and the only desk that was open was one of the leftie desks... (we have at least 2 in each classroom i believe)

I am not left-handed
But is it true that left-handed people are the only ones in their right minds?? :)

I am right handed, BUT...

I play hockey left handed.

Golf left handed

and erm...stimulate myself left handed. :D

I'm a southpaw.

Except for tennis and baseball batting, throwing I throw left.

And I spank righty too, hurts less. My hand that is.

Go figure.

I understand completely. Left handed people some how learn to get by. In your case, you could very well become ambi, to a point.

I only learned how to write, etc. right-handed because I had my left arm in a cast and I was in my senior year of high school. I had too many classes that needed my undivided attention and so I had to learn how to write with my right hand. It's come in handy since then. Taking essay exams in college meant that once my left hand started feeling a little strained, I'd just switch over and start using the right hand. I always wondered why my professors never questioned the two handwriting styles on my tests, but maybe they just noticed the pen being swapped from side to side.

However, just because I can write with my right hand doesn't mean I give in to the righty dominated world of notebooks and such. I perservere with my left since it's the hand I write with predominantly and can write with more quickly and neatly. The only time I give in and use my right hand is when I'm writing on a chalkboard or dry erase board. I've found the writing on a flat surface like that is just easier with my right hand. I have given up on the scissor issue though. Since I can use the right hand now I don't even bother trying to use my left hand anymore. I don't even think I have a pair of left-handed scissors sitting around anymore anyways.

i'm everything lefty

Left handed, footed, eyed, eared, etc. (Do nothing on the right side.)
Live on the Left Coast, and even a little left politically.

No spatial sense. I can, and have, gotten lost going around the corner (on the way back.) Still remember my left hand the quickest by which side the ring is on. That 'right foot first' stuff at school used to screw me up because, on top of my directional dyslexia, it felt so unnatural.
Not all lefties think spatially and I'm about as lefty as they come. One of my sisters is, too.
Both parents remember being switched in school. If anyone had tried to switch me I'd never have learned. I can however, write backwards and read upside down, as can my sister.

And, I would just like to add my own little rant, here. We left-handers are living in a right-handed world. That should be obvious, but you right handed people don't notice it, because everything is made for the right-handed individual.

I'm not saying that shouldn't be done, but it is a reality. Take a look at your every day world and see if it would work as well, if you were left-handed. Then, think of yourself and how you would deal with that same day, as a left-handed individual. :D

This issue is bigger than scissors. Stats show that lefthanders die younger. The assumption was that lefthandedness meant there was something wrong with you and would be associated with, say, heart abnormalities or something. Turned out that significantly higher death rate comes from just one area. Accidents. Hmm, wonder why we're all so clumsy? Or could it have something to do with living in a world built by and for righthanders.

I'm not left handed, but Holly is. She is also red-headed, and has been called "the redheaded monster" by her family ... but I like her that way :D

Wow, along with Kajira and Holly, another lefthanded redheaded monster here (well, only auburn, which makes me, I suppose, only monstrous!)

I tease Holly with a couple of statistics. Lefthanders are more likely to survive strokes (no reason why has been established, but it has been shown in multiple surveys), but are also more likely to be hit by busses ... so I tell her that she'll have a stroke, survive it, then get hit by a bus on the way out of the hospital :p

Seriously, the accidents thing is mostly because of a difference in thinking & wiring. Left handers look in a different direction first when driving than right handers, and it makes a difference (they tend to look left first, then right ... but don't look back left before pulling out, etc.). It affects more than just driving as well - so ... that is my theory on the matter ... LOL. Feel free to prove me wrong, put up your own theory, whatever.

isn't it terrible what righthanded families put the redheaded lefthanders thru...i think we need to start our own thread!

I did it left handed half my life, then divorced it and started using the right. And no, it wasn't fooling around.

I like left-handed women because they're fun. And, red heads are full of FIRE. And, an added plus...because they usually have such creamy white bodies, their asses tend to get a very nice shade of red. :D

Master is left-handed, I am right-handed, though I have now learned to use a mouse with my left hand to save swapping sides every time I use the computer :D

I also dial the numbers on my cordless phone and mobile with my left hand
