Sophie wakes in a state of some despondency, on her own not daring to think of Amelia and her pleasures of last night. She feels a little better after coffee and a croissant and looks forward to their lunchtime meeting followed by their games evening. The meeting with Diane is coming at just the right time for her.
'Come in and sit down' says Diane with a friendly smile. ' when I saw you sitting there at Lovers Cove, you looked thoughtful and a little troubled so I thought I might be able to help.' Diane withholds the information that you finds her long hair, youthful look and curvy busty figure immensely attractive. She goes on to say 'I am here to listen and in no way judgmental and what you do say will stay entirely private with me.'
Diane can tell that there is something troubling Sophie from her look and goes to make some tea to ease the atmosphere. After a little while Diane says sweetly 'well then my dear'
Without too much encouragement Sophie explains her background with her domineering parents and over protective brothers, followed by her wild activities on arrival and then her efforts to settle down with a friendship developing with Amelia who is now dating a young beauty. She touches on her feelings for Amelia but does not open her heart fully about them.
'A lot is happening in a short while for you isn't it Sophie? I think you need to relax, how is it you youngsters say it 'chill' and move with the flow especially with Amelia. I suggest it could be more an infatuation with her rather than any deep feelings and you need to be careful because her feelings for you may not match yours in any event. Her actions right now suggest you and her are at least a little way apart there.'
Sophie looks around the room and sees photos of Diane when younger with a man and two young children. 'Yes my husband and our two daughters' she explains. 'I get on well with them but sadly the marriage rather fell apart a good few years ago.'
Just as Sophie is about to get up and go Diane says to her, 'there is a good film on in a nearby town, it is a lesbian romance story and has good reviews, you should see it. I will come with you Hopefully it will be an education and it will get you away for your pressures here.'
Sophie is rather taken aback by the offer from Diane and wonders whether in fact it would be ethically correct for them to socialise outside the study area. However Diane has been so interested and understanding to date and it is only watching a film. She concludes that it must be a sort of therapy to get her to understand her desires and that Diane is going along to provide support.
Sophie thinks for a moment and says 'great let's make it tomorrow evening'
'That's a date then' says Diane before Sophie leaves the room, her heartbeat quicker than the norm. She looks at her phone to see if there is a message from Amelia.
