Fukumoto Sei, daughter of Dr. Fukumoto Akira had always been regarded as a beauty. Her porcelain white skin and waist length ebony tresses were the envy of every girl in her village. And not only that, Sei posessed the most peculiar shade of eyes ever seen before on a Japanese woman. They were icey-blue, a hue so light that they were almost transparent. But none of that mattered anymore, especially during these times of war and turmoil.

Her beloved father had been summoned to serve a renowned samurai clan as their personal physician. And because her mother had died while giving birth to her, Sei had no other choice but to accompany her father. With Akira on horseback and Sei following behind in a modest palanquin, they approached the samurai camp. Sei could feel the shuffle of the palanquin bearers as they gently set it down, and it was at that moment that she felt her heart racing. Seconds later, she was rolling up the flap before smoothing the wrinkles from her pale pink kimono and stepping outside with her Father's aid.

"Presenting Fukumoto Akira-sensei and his daughter, Sei of Aizu!" One of the bearers announced as he bowed deeply. Both Sei and her father bowed respectfully as well, trying their best to ignore dozens of sets of brown eyes upon them. In the background, Sei could hear the sound of hushed whispers and low laughter as one of the men approached the pair.
