LOL !
I must be rougher on my hair than I thought !!

and those are the best kind of cheeks I do believe :D

Yes they are, the glow on them can be almost as beautiful as a sunset.

Mmmmm, hugs n warmth

This thread is warm 'n' cosy, kinda like a big, deep, rug in front of a roaring fire in winter, mmmmm feel the warmth! I really like this thread, its full of nice gestures and kind things. In this harsh world, it's nice to have a place like this to escape and open the mind up to the fact that there is still lots of 'nice' in this world. I am proud to be a part of this huggable thread and all the lovely people who have added to it so far, I shall keep popping by in order to cleanse my mind of the days stresses and maybe add some nice things for others to enjoy. What a fantastic idea, thanks for this one! and ((((((((((everyone nice))))))))))
(I'm never this gooey!, look what you have brought out into the open!)

Laughter

I thought I'd share a few facts about laughter, why it's so good, why we do it and why we should do it a lot more!
Did you know that humans are one of the only species that laughs. Laughter is actually a complex response that involves many of the same skills used in solving problems.

And we've all heard the saying, "Laughter is the best medicine." There is strong evidence that laughter can actually improve health and help fight disease.
(I didn't make this up, it's actually based on continuous research happening now!)
Laughter reduces levels of certain stress hormones. In doing this, laughter provides a safety valve that shuts off the flow of stress hormones and the fight-or-flight compounds that swing into action in our bodies when we experience stress, anger or hostility. These stress hormones suppress the immune system, increase the number of blood platelets (which can cause obstructions in arteries) and raise blood pressure. When we're laughing, natural killer cells that destroy tumors and viruses increase, as do Gamma-interferon (a disease-fighting protein), T-cells, which are a major part of the immune response, and B-cells, which make disease-destroying antibodies.

Laughter may lead to hiccuping and coughing, which clears the respiratory tract by dislodging mucous plugs. Laughter also increases the concentration of salivary immunoglobulin A, which defends against infectious organisms entering through the respiratory tract.
Laughter also gives your diaphragm and abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg and back muscles a workout. That's why you often feel exhausted after a long bout of laughter -- you've just had an aerobic workout!
People often store negative emotions, such as anger, sadness and fear, rather than expressing them. Laughter provides a way for these emotions to be harmlessly released.
That's why some people who are upset or stressed out go to a funny movie or a comedy club, so they can laugh the negative emotions away (these negative emotions, when held inside, can cause biochemical changes that can affect our bodies).
Increasingly, mental health professionals are suggesting "laughter therapy," which teaches people how to laugh -- openly -- at things that aren't usually funny and to cope in difficult situations by using humor.

And finally, ways to improve your general health and well being - i.e. laughter!.....
Figure out what makes you laugh and do it (or read it or watch it) more often.
Surround yourself with funny people -- be with them every chance you get.
Develop your own sense of humor. Maybe even take a class to learn how to be a better comic -- or at least a better joke-teller at that next party. Be funny every chance you get -- as long as it's not at someone else's expense!

The reason I wanted to share my research is because I visited a sick friend a few days ago. He didn't want visitors and really was in a foul mood. Me, not taking no for an answer and being a bit of a 'class clown' decided to make him laugh. There was the odd chuckle at first followed by more grumpy behavour, but slowly as I persisted, he laughed more and more (just simple joke telling was all it took!) by the end of the evening when I left, he said he felt much better and thanked me for coming round. The next day he had almost completely cleared his cold which he'd had for nearly 2 weeks and hadn't gone out of the house for over a week. It made me wonder about all those sayings like 'laughter is the best medicine' and things like that. Well, here is my research and I just wanted to share it so we can all spread a bit of happiness at home and work and the world over! Together, we really can take the sting out of life and feel better within ourselves. So come on, tell some jokes, tickle someone, act silly! whatever works, do it and make someones day! Go on DO IT!!!!!!!
