A Threat to Royalty

ooc: wow, you all seem to be busy. I'll be back later. I'm sure you all got other threads, and real-life issues to deal with, but be sure not to forget this thread :D

OOC: My character is neutral high_king, she works for her own benefit... but has no problem on being a little evil if thats what it takes... she is not a villian though... if thats what you wanted to know...

And yes you spelled it correctly... It is Drizzt Do´Urden from house Daermon N´a´shezbaernon of the city of Menzoberranzan.
( Im a fan of R:A: Salvatore the author of those books :p ).

ooc: thanks for the info White Queen. I'm also a Salvatore fan, so I geuss your character will be recognized once we enter a forest. Try to keep yourself busy till then. Pretend your characters hunting in the woods, or something.

Sistine

ooc: I'm still here! ;) Just waiting for the right moment to approach the group. Perhaps after they leave the tavern...? :D

bic:

Sitting close to the bar, I could hear the conversation of the gathered men, and woman. They were probably after my father's relics, only to sell them on the black market. I would not let that happen! I drank my ale silently, watching them as a curious observer would, careful not to stare too long.

The Minotaur was the most curious to me. He and that wolf of his. So different from what I had been suspect to within the walls of the palace. I was beginning to wonder if the group would recognize me at all if I took down my hood.

I was tempted to remove it, but opted to keep it hiding my head and my face. I could wait a while longer to test my theory, and to see if there were perhaps just the adventurers I needed.

Frezhan Bovis

Frezhan drained his tankard and looked at the group around him. "So," he said, "when are we going to get on with this - and does anyone have any idea of how we're going to find the relics?" He slammed another handful of coins on the table and yelled once more for more drinks.

Creeps

SLAM! The minotaur bashed his coins against the table again for more drinks. I fell back, but managed to catch myself. "Can you stop that?! And we'll start as soon as I I do one more thing", I was a man who was used to silence. I could tell that this minotaur was the exact opposite. I then saw the archer girl again, this time I called to her. "Hey you! You with the bow! I'd like to discuss something with you... if you don't mind". I hoped for a positive reply.

Sistine

I finished my ale with a sudden gulp, shocked by the notorious thief's call. I kept my chin tucked down, but looked up at him slowly.

"That all depends on what you have to discuss..."

ooc: sorry about the short response. I'm at a friend's house and we're getting wasted.. ;) It's a good excuse, right????

Tash

OOC: i'm sorry, email must be really slow

IC: "Hey you! you in the cloak! i want to talk to you!" Tash turned his head towards the group. He had been listening to them anyway, why not? He got up, cracking his head on the celing. letting loose a low rumbling sigh he nent slightly and walked over to the table. Dragging a chair after him and carefully siting down again, he noticed the wolf was clearly not happy with him.

He spoke, his voice booming forth. "yes? what is it you want?"

Creeps

I got both their attention. Now I could start doing some business. First I showed them both the poster, without saying anything. Then just in case they were mercenaries, or something, I plopped a small bag, filled to the brim with gold coins, on the table. That oughta get some attention. After a minute of silence, I said, "so... interested?".

Tash

Tash looked at the poster. it told him less than what his ears had picked up. then at the sack of coins. "You think to buy me? i want to know what we would be doing. it is the adventure that draws my interest more than coinage you lay before us." Tash looked about the others, to see wether it was the money that drove them, or otherwise.

Creeps

I smiled, and took the sack of coins back, "well, for these guys around me, its the adventure thats makes them want to do this. Their crazy that way. I'm in it for the money... and maybe adventure". I wasn't really sure if it was money, or not. All I knew was that it was a 'reward' of some kind. I then turned my attention back to the archer girl, and asked, "so, do YOU have any inquiries about this?".

Lysabet

Sheesh minotaurs can make noise. I grabbed two of the biggest tankards we have, filled them and pressed them into his hands.

"That should keep you for a bit, but if you need more I'm right here, no need to yell, k?"

Turning to the remainder of the group, "Mind if I tag a long? I need some adventure."

Creeps

"My reply is yes bard... if thats what you want to called during this adventure". I took a sip of my milk. Thats right, I was a sipping man, not a gulping man. There was nothing to be ashamed of. Except maybe the big minotaur person noticeing this, and probably belittleing me in his mind right now. Anyways, back on track, "I await your reply archer".

Sistine

I glanced up at him, pulling my head back just enough so I could see him. "If you're going to buy people off, you had better supply more money than that, Thief," I glared.

So that was his game... Find my father's relics, and sell them on the black marker. His tone (and his need for money) implied that. Besides, I knew him.. from far away I hadn't been sure. But now, now I recognized him: Creeps, a master thief, notorious for his silence, skill. Time would prove if he was any good at adventures.

"You want money? What if I told you I could triple the coinage you would receive for the relics...?"

Creeps

I raised an eyebrow, "a theif?! Whos a theif, wheres a thief, whats a thief?", I quickly said. Words like that could really piss a person off. I replied, "listen lady. You can accuse me of being greedy, and you can even call me a liar if you want. But never, EVER, mention the black market around me. I work for myself, and I only. The black market, and I have a certain... bad history together. As for the payment, I'll be interested in what the king has to give. I'm sure his reward will be satisfying. I also happen to know that be selling these items will cause all hell to break loose, and I'll be out of business. I'm not stupid okay?". I usually wasn't this angry, but when it came to something like the black market, I was really sensitive about that. I wiped a tear from my eye, before anyone noticed, and sat back down. "So, do you want to take part, or not?"

Frezhan Bovis

Frezhan slapped Creeps on the back in what he thought was a friendly way. "Hey, calm down. Aint no need to be running off at her like that, even if she doesn't have the manners she was born with. Heh, and they call me a hothead. You need to calm down, friend. Now, lets talk about the business at hand, eh?"

Creeps

I straightened myself out, and took a deep breath. Then I began to explain thigns from there. "Alright, if you want me to lead, then heres what I think we should do. First, we go to Rendul castle, and find out the details. We rest for the night. Then we find some sort of ship, or some other form of transportation. Then its all downhill from there. How does that sound?". I looked around for any questions, or comments, (or complaints, for that matter).

Tash

Tash grinned under his hood. "sounds complicated" Tash broke into a low chuckle and nodded. "more information is good. i am fine." Tash then listened to the others, there were still a couple people he wasn't sure would be in or not, they had not said deffinatly, he hadn't either untill now, but he was getting bored lately, his last voyage had ended several weeks ago, and he could not stand doing nothing, and having to hide himself from the humans. it annoyed him. but this was perfect. a boat, they would be in water, and then he could do what he wanted. what were they going to do if they didn't like him? kick him off? yes, this would be good.

Creeps

I looked at Tash for a moment. When a thief had a gut-feeling about trouble, then there would be trouble. And right now, I had a gut-feeling about Tash. I decided to stop glaring, and said, "thats umm... good to hear Tash. Anything else anyone wants to add?".

Tash

Tash nodded at the man who he assumed would be leading this bunch, and noticed he was looking at him more than casually. almost staring. but the man soon stopped.

Frezhan Bovis

"Good! Sounds good!" Even the minotaur's normal speech sounded half-like a bellow. "Let's go get the information. Just one question though... Wouldn't we do better to rest on the ship? That way we don't lose any more time..."

Creeps

"If we can find a ship that leaves tonight, then sure. Then again, there isn't a ship I know of thats going to leave tonights, is there. The last time I heard, ever since the incident with the relics, the sea has been crawling with monsters during the night. If we go during the day, the worst that can happen is a kraken, or two. If we go at night, we risk fighting a hundred krakens. Even I don't think you can take on that many krakens my minotaur friend". Ha, that oughta stump him. I wasn't willing to get eaten by anything during a night at sea, especially those vampiric krakens I keep hearing about. The thought made me shudder.

Tash

Tash glanced at the Minotaur. "then we travel by day. and you leave the Krackens to him, myself, and the archers. nothing to worry about."

Creeps

"Good, if thats all, then I suggest we make our way to the castle", I said, as I got a got up from my chair. My motioned towards the bartender. I then dropped a couple of gold coins on the table. Not just any gold coins, these were dwarven gold coins, mined from the Stormos moutains. It was to bad that the archer didn't want any. The bartender's eyes lightened up with glee.

ooc: is anyone else, beside Bad_Form, and Khadgar still here?

Frezhan Bovis

OOC: Just what I was wondering.

IC: Seeing that Creeps had enough money for all of them, Frezhan tied his money pouch back at his waist. He stood to follow the man, waiting to see how many companions would do likewise.

"Aye, friend, you are wise. Let us go."
