It had been a very hard time for Rose for her within the last four years. She remembered the night that would change her life forever. It was her 15th birthday and her parents were taking her home from the opera house, they had just seen phantom of the opera. One of her favorite stories of all time, and they got into the car. Heading home, her father noticed that someone was coming up fast behind them. But he couldn't get out of the way fast enough and was hit. The three of them were rolling, Rose and her mother were thrown from the car. Lucky for Rose she only had a few cuts, she managed to get up and run over to her father. But when she did, he was cut in two, her eyes went wide and cried out. But she turned on her heels and ran to her mother, dropping to her knees she cradled her mother.

Rose saw her mother die that night in her arms, by the time help came she was dead. But even with that horrible situation, light did come at the end of her tunnel. Rose had a teacher she was close to, she called him Dave when it was just the two of them. She always showed respect for him and everyone else really, accept maybe school bullies. But that wasn't the point at all, now she was best friends with her Algebra Teacher. She was first in his class, and what was great. She had his class last. But there was one thing she had noticed, and it was Dave. She knew he was going through a nasty divorce, his bitch of a wife wants the house. But he is able to keep it. She likes it when Dave talks to her like an adult a nd not a kid, since she graduates in a week and is eighteen.

Right now she was thinking of him, so decided to check on him. Her dark brown eyes scanned the school, seeing no one and knocked on his office door. Soon she opened up the door and closed it behind her, as she walked in. She began to pull her dark brown hair back in a pony tail, she heard someone in the back and smiled. She had been wearing her sky blue dress today, a dress he bought her for her birthday. Peeking her head in she smiled.

"Hi Dave" She said happily.

Life has been really rough for David recently. His wife, Kim, had filed for divorce and this was so unexpected to him. He was luckily able to keep the house but that was about it, she took almost everything from him. As times got rougher and rougher for him, he started connecting more with the top student out of all of his classes. David told Rose about everything that was going on in his life and she told him about her rough past, which hers is far worse then what he was going through. They bonded over time and became good friends.

Sitting at his desk grading papers he heard the familiar voice of Rose. He turned around in his computer chair with a smile. "Hey Rosie, what brings you here?"

Rose smiled as she put her bag down "I wanted to check on you, say hi. That sort of thing, just because basically" She giggled some as she sat down in the spare chair in that room. What was funny, was she actually lived in the same neighborhood as he did. So even after she graduated she would be able to see him still, course she would make sure not to seem or become a stalker. She had a huge crush on him, and wasn't to sure how to tell him. He was very good looking, so was certain other girls were falling for him to.

"Besides what can I say, Ive grown very fond of you Dave" She looked down blushing.

"Well that is sweet Rosie" He said as he looked up from the papers scattered about on his desk. He knew she lived in the same neighborhood as him but he never saw her outside of school. "So how are you doing today?"

She smiled "Very good actually, did all my homework already. Even for your class to, had a few study halls. Being number one is hard, funny how math used to be my weakest subject. But I have a good teacher so" She shrugged. But she noticed something. "Wow Dave you took off your wedding ring?" She wasn't really thinking and she got up and hugged him. "I'm so proud of you, I'm sure it was very hard for you to do" She said with love in her voice, and noticed what she was doing.

"Err sorry, maybe I'm to happy?" She cleared her throat.

Dave just grinned as she got up and hugged him. "Yeah it was hard to do, but it had to be done." He hugged her back before she pulled away. "No it's okay, there is nothing wrong with a hug between friends"

She smiled "Your soon to be ex wife doesn't deserve you, wish you were my husband frankly" She bit her lip hoping he didn't mind her saying that. She didn't say anything else, she wanted to marry Dave, oh how crazy was she? "Dave, Ive kept a secret from you, but I'm ready to share my secret with you" She said softly.

"A secret huh? Well if you feel you should tell me the secret then I am listening" He crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned back in his chair

She looked down "Well it's about you, I know this is going to sound stupid or strange. But since Ive known you, Ive become attached and grew to have a crush on you. But now my crush has turned into something much different, and even thought I'm only eighteen and I know your much older. I'm in love with you, that's why I said your ex doesn't deserve you. Ive dreamed of being your girlfriend, and more in the future..."

Dave looked at her, he was a little shocked to hear this. He could tell she had a crush on him for a while now but finding out she was in love with him caught him off guard. "In love with me? Really Rosie?"

She nodded and looked at him "Yes, one hundred percent. Id marry you in a heart beat" She giggled some and rubbed her neck. "Some think young people don't know what true love is, but I know. I feel it with you, you are very special to me. I love you"

"Wow I don't know what to say Rosie" He kept looking at her but was now sitting straight up in his chair. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel something for you as well"

She looked up at him, for a moment she thought he was just saying that to make her feel better.

"Really?"

She blushed and nodded some, how she just wanted to kiss him, but restrained herself from doing that, which was hard.

"So is that what you really came here to tell me today Rosie?" He glanced over at her and grinned

She nodded "And to make sure you were still holding strong" She said softly.

"Well I am thank you" He grinned still thinking about how she told him she loved him just minutes ago. He looked over at the petite teen sitting in the chair from head to toe. "So what are your plans after you graduate?"

Looking at him she was happy "I don't know, if I decide to go to college, it will be the local one in this city"
