A Vampire's Beginning. (Closed for cnuveau)

A sigh. Reality always seems to find a crack to slip in. He thought through it out loud. “Well I don’t imagine it staying open much past 2:00 am. That’d leave some time after close.” A pause as he thought through more “ also wouldn’t expect during the week it’d be all that busy so you could work in the office when it’s slow. If the current owner ran things during the day and we just covered the night it doesn’t seem all that bad.”

As he spoke it became clear to him that he’d have to resign. Not only would the hours be unworkable. Owning a bar with a student would surely get him fired at some point. “Was it really all that much of a sacrifice?” He wondered to himself. In the moment he felt like he could walk away from the university and not look back.

As he spoke it made her smile. "So, it's really workable. Doable. Something we can achieve." She hugged him firmly. "I, rather like that idea. Us... having something together, where we have time to be together, time to run it." And an extra influx of money over time. A way to legitimise and .. what was it he said, clean their money?

“I don’t see why it can’t work.” He said with a shrug. The added benefit, he thought to himself, is she’d not have to work all that hard to find prey. With a steady stream of customers coming in she’d have no problem finding opportunities to lure them into dark recesses for a snack. And with an office crowd you’d hope their blood alcohol levels weren’t as high as college frat boys.

“Road trip?”

The added benefit hadn't yet occurred to Lacey. It might in time, but right now she knew it was simply an idea. An idea that might be realised sooner than she'd think. With his comment about a road trip. A blink. "Hrm, a road trip to where?"

“sorry… to The Break Room. Imagine even if we don’t move quickly we’d probably need to get more info. Asking price, a look at the books, etc”. He paused for a second and squeezed her thigh “ maybe a visit to our booth” a wry grin coming over his face.

A nod then slowly. "Sure, now we have a clue it's possible we could achieve it. We just need to know it might work, and how steep or easy to do his price is." A blush then at his words about that booth. "Cheeky."

“Never know. With your new found powers of suggestion maybe you can make him an off her can’t refuse.” He joked the last part said with his fake New York/Italian accent in reference to The Godfather.

Changing into clothes more suitable for going out they stand beside each other in the bathroom arranging themselves in the mirror. Satisfied they climb into the car for the drive over.

They found the place largely deserted. One couple sat at a high top on the far side of the bar and 2 younger men seated at the bar. It was Sunday evening so it made sense that it was slow.

“Back again huh?” The owner greeted them. “What can I get you?”

Jason hesitated for a moment before starting in. “Well we were interested in talking to you about the for sale sign on the door. “

The large man studied Jason’s face for a moment before crossing his tattoo adorned arms in front of him. “Really? Well, yes it’s still for sale. I’m asking $250,000 firm.” He paused as if he was judging their reaction to his asking price. Not seeing them flinch he continued. “The property is leased. It has a full service kitchen in the back though we only really do appetizers right now. If you’re really interested I have the financials for the last 6 months I can share.”

“That’d be great!” Jason replied. He stepped away to get them and they looked at each other. “No surprises yet.” He said with a squeeze of her leg.

As the owner went off to fetch things. Lacey looks to Jason then. "Can you do that? Do we need to tell him we can make an offer on it, and a continued job for him after?" Maybe, knowing he'd have reliable work, would perhaps make him offer to sell it for less. After all, ongoing employment meant more money long-term in his pocket.

She debated for a moment while looking at him. "If here, is only doing good business through the week till 9 pm. We might be able to swing a three-hour weekday special for college students to have a place that caters to decent-priced late-night dinners, and alcohol till midnight, with pool and dancing. On weekends it's themed parties spread from Friday night, to Saturday night. With a recovery lunch and dinner deal on Sunday?" She was merely thinking of things the girls at her House spoke about when the weekdays allowed them time and the lack of reasonable places that catered more for their age groups.

He nodded along a she spoke. All good ideas he thought. There’s a lot of potential here and she had an excellent grasp on how to reach her fellow students.

“I can.” He nodded his trust would easily cover the cost “Why don’t you handle the negotiations though.” He continued with a smile as the owner returned with a folder.

“If you have a minute let’s sit down and talk.” The bartender scans the bar making sure there were no immediate needs then nodded. Jason led them to a booth then slid in stopping at the edge blocking anyone from sitting beside him. Lacey slid in across the table from him moving closer to the wall to allow the owner to slide in beside her. “I’m Mike by the way”. He reached out his hand and they each shook. “Jason and Lacey”. Jason opens the folder and starts to scan the financials as Lacey clears her throat drawing Mikes attention to her.

Lacey didn't mean for her eyes to take on those properties which made them draw Mike into them. It just happened as she began slowly speaking. "We have ideas. A lot of them. Ways to hopefully make this place more profitable. We don't want to change the name. We like what it is." Lacey smiled at him and Mike smiled back at her.

"Just neither of us know anything about mixing drinks, or the like. We'd like to learn, but that would take time. We would, however, like to not only buy the place but offer you a well-paid position as a bartender. No more needing to stress over how it's going. How you are going to make ends meet." She drew a breath and continued.

"We plan to encourage the college crowd to come here during the weekdays after the office crowd has left. Food, dancing, and drinks till midnight. Giving them somewhere to come that caters especially to their needs. A safe place to meet others around the same age. For the weekends, throwing weekend-themed nights. Again, encouraging them into the same activities they'd do otherwise. But in a safer location. Somewhere that's not another Frat or Soror House. Somewhere there are bouncers to break up fights and keep things clean. Where both sexes are aware there's zero tolerance for unhealthy behaviour."

Mike listened to it all and he could really see how it could work. The fact she offered him, they offered him a stress-free way of working, compounded by her subtle encouragement offered by her mind to him. "Now I know the usual bartender salary is $23,000. I'd like to offer you, $45,000 a year. To stay on, and also help us transition into learning all we need to help tend bar and do the books." The fact she offered him almost double, was enticing to him.

Mike strongly thought about it, "Make it $50,000, and I'll knock 50k off the price. I've got someone who can draw up the contracts, only takes him a few days. My brother-in-law is a Lawyer. So, Tuesday work to look it all over?"

It was impressive listening to her pitch. He was already sold but if he wasn’t he’d be sold all over again. Mike as as well. He couldn’t be sure how much she had to “finesse” him but she didn’t have to bite him to make it happen so that was something.

“I think we can make Tuesday work. Shall we say this time Tuesday?”

The financials appeared to be what Mike said. They made money but where so heavily leveraged that it only paid the debt. With a cash sale they should make money plus have the income being funneled in. In all it seemed perfect.

Mike shook hands with them and got back to the bar.

“I guess we have a bar!” Jason said raising his arms from across the table from Lacey.

It was perhaps minimal. A man who'd never wanted to give up the idea his dream could work had given up to the point he wanted away from it. But hearing the fact these two had plans, ideas, dreams. Also, Mike wanted to see it all come to fruition, even if he wasn't running it anymore. It felt good. Mike was on board for teaching them as they learned, and he got to relax, without the stress of owning the place anymore.

Lacey gave a happy grin and scooted close to Jason, running her fingers against his cheek. "...soon, but yes, a business which is ours." There it was again, that affirmation that she wanted this dream with him, not alone. He was very much a big part of it all.

“Ours.” The word hung there in his mind for a moment. It’s not as if he’d doubted their connection before now but the prospect of them buying a business together felt a whole lot like a concrete step in starting a life together. Somehow it just became more real.

He’d been lost in that thought for a split second when he realized Mike had returned to the booth with a round of shots. They toasted to their new partnership and each threw theirs back.

“Can we look around?” Jason asked realizing they hadn’t really seen all of the building.

“Absolutely. I can’t get away now but feel free to show yourself around.”

They wandered back past the pool tables and found the kitchen closed. It was clean but kind of small. Seemed large enough for their needs though.

To the side of the pool tables was a little nook large enough to have a private seating areas but was currently unused space. They found some stairs next to the dance floor that led up. Presumably to where the office was. They climbed them to see what was up there.

As they found the office upstairs she tilted her head and then looked over the minor balcony down to that nook there. "Hrm. We need to make it there, pretty, but darker. Turn it into, um, a place I can, uh maybe get a little nibble." She said it gently and quietly to him there. While entwining their hands together. "Discreetly."

He looked over the space nodding. “Yeah, I can see that. Maybe some curtains that can be drawn for privacy. Like a little VIP space that can be requested for more private gatherings. As he said it he had a feeling that the college crowd would probably end up using it as a hookup spot too but maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing.

The office, as they’d expected had a large desk and also a sofa. Jason imagined the sofa got a lot of use by Mike when he was pulling long days running the place. He squeezed her hand “I think it’s perfect!” leaning in to give her a kiss.

"Curtain's yes, and I know. Some will likely hook up there. But at least we'll know it's consensual and nothing bad, right?" Nothing bad like what happened to her. "I'm okay with that. But if we see any of the bad, we stop it. I won't have that on my conscious."

“Absolutely. We have a responsibility to make sure it’s a safe place if we want to draw the college crowd.”

He led her back down the stairs, nodded to their booth from the night before. “And that booth needs a plaque” he joked with a laugh.

On the way out they stopped and shook hand so with Mike one last time. “The place looks great! We’re excited about the possibilities and will see you Tuesday evening.”

With that they walked out the door taking another look back at what will be their new bar.

As they reached the car he turned to her “How are you feeling? Do we need to find you… someone? We really do need to come up with a term for that. I’m never quite sure what to call it.”

Waving to Mike, she moves with him outside heading for the car, grinning. Totally because of his comment about the booth. "Maybe. Maybe just 'secret'. Cause it's our secret. What we did there." As she smiles up to him there. "I don't know what to call it either. Maybe we do. Need to find me, someone." She shrugs a little. "I'm sort of hoping as I get further along it's a little easier. that maybe we have a little more breathing room between times I need.... something from someone.. so it doesn't get between us... I really .. love you.."

He pulled her to him “I love you too! It’s only been a week or so. We’ll get it worked out.” He reassured her.

Pulling out his phone he pulled up google maps. “Let’s see what we have in our new neighborhood.” He scanned the blocks surrounding them. “Looks like there’s a little jazz club around the corner. Says live music. Let’s take a look.”

They walked around the corner and down the block a little ways until they found the “Ghost Note”. On a small chalk board marquis was scribbled “Tonight: Uptown Quartet” in colorful chalk. Jason shrugged and pulled the door open. They found themselves in a dark club with a small well lit stage in the back. The band was playing some jazz number that sounded familiar but he couldn’t quite come up with the name. The bar was lined with patrons, stools turned toward the band.

Finding two stools open he noticed a lone man in khakis and a button down shirt sitting in the stool next to them. His look screamed of business traveler in town for meetings the next day. Perhaps just passing time outside his hotel room. He led her over to the bar and offered her the stool next to their business traveler while he took the one furthest away.

Lacey easily smiled at his affirmation of love. Then he leaned to look at the map's locations and agreed on his choice. She moved with him then inside, and when he directed her to sit there, she did. Striking up a smile with the traveller not long after. After all some men really liked the idea of a redhead, and Lacey was a rather dramatic-looking one with delicate, youthful looks.

A whiskey later with him and lots of small talk she managed to catch his eyes enough to draw him in. Jason would notice a subtle shift in his body language, changing from interested but cautious to simply interested.

It was he who sought to lead her through to a darker corner the two leaning in it talking. The guy's hand stroked Lacey's thigh and up over her hip. Before she sought to kiss him softly, getting him to lean into her not the other way about her smaller form hidden by him, not that really anyone was paying attention. Others had likely gotten a little carried away in this very corner.

A move of her lips from his to his neck, as she bit him and took a hard draw of blood, he got flooded with venom and a hand went up under Lacey's skirt there, clearly something going on there as she drank another mouthful, then pulled back licking his neck. She managed to duck about him trying to grope her and weaved her way through the room like smoke in that dark place. Not that she became actual smoke, much more it became harder to track her until she was leaning into Jason and kissing him at the bar.

Jason watched as he led her through the bar to that dark corner. She was so beautiful it seemed almost too easy to lure an unsuspecting man away to be fed on. They disappeared from sight for a few brief moments and he visualized the scene. Him thinking how lucky he’d gotten and pawing at her. Unsuspecting as her lips moved to his neck then that oh to familiar rush as she drew from him. Not a hint of jealousy crossed his mind. It was necessary and he was secure about their love for each other.

Before he knew it she was back by his side kissing him deeply. How did she get there so fast? He thought as his hand traveled up the back of her thigh under her skirt cupping her ass.

Indeed as his hand came to cup her ass, she delved her tongue into his mouth and kissed him more deeply. Those slender arms wrapped about him tightly. A feel of those breasts squished against his side and chest, as she nuzzles him there for a moment.

A movement of her lips up to his earlobe as he'd heard. "....so glad you were right here... I was good, I got what I needed there, but now all I want is you."

As soon as her words left her lips Jason tossed a $20 on the bar and led her to the door making their way quickly down the block, around the corner and into his car. He leaned in and kissed her hard again. He hand traveling up her warming thigh beneath her skirt. Her legs part allowing him to reach her panties then stroke the damp fabric as she ground her hips into his touch.

Moving his lips down to kiss her neck he continued to stroke her. Her hand on three back of his neck pulling him into her he heard her breathing heavy from her arousal.

She managed to get him onto her passenger seat, climbing atop him, even as his fingers stroked her against those panties. her hand and nails teasing his neck softly. Stroking his back. A louder lusty moan then. Even as his lips nuzzled and nibbled on her neck she clearly delighted on it. "....yes... yes... oh yes..."

“Fuck I want you now!” He exhaled into her neck as his free hand moves to release the button of his trousers and lower the zipper. His lips moved from her neck lower tracing his tongue along the neckline of her top before his hand found its way underneath it to caress her breasts through the lace fabric of her bra. A shift of her hips as he pulled her panties aside then she was lowering herself onto him. Feeling him slide into her wetness.
