A wedge between them... fill free to join in..

She was fed up, Kelly had waited for him for the last hour. He was late again and she was tired of it. Picking up her purse she moved away from the table and stepped out of the restaurant. Making her way through the busy sidewalk she turned the corner and proceeded to head towards Matt's office. She was telling him exactly what she thought about being stood up again. Plenty of men would have loved to spend the afternoon with her but she had married Matt and she had expected him to be the only man that she had wanted to spend time with, now she saw herself years from now alone while he did his own thing.

Kelly moves swiftly down the final block to the office and stops short. There he stood, her husband of 4 years. In his arms stood a woman, a younger woman then his wife. Kelly felt the blood drain from her features as she slowly begin to walk towards the couple. Her eyes filled with tears as she watched her husband bend down and give the beautiful woman a passionate kiss. A kiss that Kelly remembered he had once given her. She reached his side and stood behind him as Matt closed the door of the taxi. She felt her body become ridged and her heart harden as he waved goodbye to his lover.

Her eyes burned a whole into his back and she could tell my the stiffening of his shoulders and his upright posture that he could sense her behind him. She watched his face stare coldly at her and she saw her hand smack his face before her actions registered what she was doing. She saw the red hot mark on his face and cursed herself for losing her composure. "Why?" she asked.

Turning to face her Matt slowly slid his eyes over her lush body. Admitting to her that he had known Mandy for years now would only have hurt her more, but he knew telling her the truth was the only wat to rid himself of a mistake he made. "I've loved Mandy years before I met you. I only married you because she was in a relationship. Now they are finished and so are we."

With those statements Kelly's world crumbled and her spirit broke. She moved quickly away from her husband and ran off towards the park. Finally, she found a quiet place to rest and sat down. Her tears fell down her face as the sounds of her sobbing echoed around the dense trees. Soon she was hiccuping and tried to calm herself with deep breaths. She looked around and didn't see anyone. Placing her purse on her stomach she laid down on the park bench and closed her eyes.

As she slept a slow fog raised up from the grown and shrouded the park. The birds became still and quiet. The fog grew higher and thicker until if someone had known that the woman and the bench had been there they would not have seen it. Kelly's body shifted and shivered but still she slept on as the area around her began to change.

Kelly woke up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Sitting up on the bench, her fingers wrapped around her purse she looked into the thick fog that surrounded her. A shill crept up her spine as she realized that it must have gotten later then she had realized. Rising up she slowly began to walk back towards the exit of the park. The fog was so thick she stumbled as she tried to find her way. Eventually she stopped and looked in all directions, not knowing where she was. Defeated, she blew her blonde tresses from her eyes. She stood quietly trying to listen to the surroundings of the area. Finally she heard a noise off to her left and she headed towards it.

As she made her way to the sound she felt as if a presence was lurking behind her. Her steps quickened and she hurried faster. The feeling increased as did her movements. Running now, sweat beading down her head and trickling between her breast. Her foot catches on an upturned root and she falls along the rocky path. Her head hits a large rock and a thick blackness envelopes her.

Looking down on the sleeping figure, his silver eyes run along her skin. He had seen her from his globe. Watched her enter the green area that he had witnessed many enter. Noone had caught his attention like this one. He could see her clearly through the crystal that showed him the pathes of his ancestors. Lifting her still form, he carries her back to his keep. The animals of the forest scatter, leaving him a path unhindered.

He can smell her scent. His nostrils flare as he quickens his steps. He can feel the temperature in the air beginning to change. The time to return to his grounds is upon him. Quickly he uses his energy to move faster down the path. Leaping many feet between each step. The gates of his keep swing open and his followers close them behind him. The crash of their shutting ring in his ears and the darkness of his hall welcomes him. He can sense the change in the air outside as the sun rises up to claim its place in his world.

Moving up into his chambers he lays the woman upon his bed, beckoning his mistress to care for her. He leaves, never seeing the evil stare of hatred the lover gives her soon to be replacement.

As he moved away already the womans curves filled his mind, got to remind myself not to get too attached, these mortals are only good for a few years and there their strenght is gone. I wonder if I will be able to turn this one into an immortal? He had been trying for over one hundred years but to no avail. Moving deeper into his keep he needed to rest.

Kelly turned over on the bed, a cold chill crept over her. Her eyes opened slowly. Taking in her surroundings, she notices the flimsy curtains around her bed. Her eyes continue to move about the room, noting the age of the things around her. She moves her hand over her head, feeling the pressure of a bump. Pressing against it softly, though wincing, she doesn't feel as if she had broken anything. 'Where I am,' she thinks, as her feet slide out of the bed to rest on the cold hard floor.

Noone was with her as she moved about the room. Her fingers gently ran over the ivory comb and brush. Glancing to the left and then the right she makes note that not one window is in this room. Sitting down, she trys to remember what had brought her here. Her mind fills with anger over the memory of Matt and then her body shakes with fear. The fright she had when she had awaken in the mist, the sense that someone, something was chasing her overwhelms her. Her head pounds as she remembers the fall and then nothing.

'Who had brought her here?' and 'Why?' She needed her answers and knew that somewhere someone would tell her what she wanted to know. She had been stepped on my one person she refuses to be stepped on again. Squaring her shoulders Kelly moves over and pulls open the heavy door and enters a world she had not been expecting.

The hall is dark and drafty, shivering she makes her way, along the path. Her back presses deep against the rock wall. She hears voices coming from below her. Making out a dark corridor, she slips inside, just as two figures step onto the landing.

She keeps her breathing steady as she slowly backs her way up the stairs. Pressing her body deeper, as the figures pass by her. She studies their clothing, a shimmering grey and slides long across the floor. Looking up, she sees a faint flicker of light and begins to take the stairs that lead up to it. Kelly's eyes adjust to the light, making out a door with a circular handle, lifting it she slowly slips inside.

Pressing herself against the closed door, she calms her breathing. Glancing about the room, she notices it too has no windows. Sensing someone watching her, she moves her eyes to the form resting on the bed. A pair of silver eyes look back at her.

He watched her from his bed as she entered the room. He registered the fact that she had noticed his eyes, her whole body had involuntarily stiffened.
"This one may be interesting" he thought, adjusting his thought patterns he probed her mind to feel what she was thinking.
Good he thought there were no thoughts of flight instead a strange feeling of inquisitiveness.

'Come here' he pulsed with his mind. He watched her body recoil as his thoughts intruded on her inner mind.
He commanded her again but noticed this time she did not flinch. He smiled inwardly; this was better than his last earthly subject who just curled into a ball and whimpered. There may be some promise in this one....
He smiled in his mind and transferred the thought across. His Mistress would have been amused at that thought he registered, he very seldom smiled these days.
He watched her approach from his vantage point on the bed, shifting slightly to watch her lithe form move.

Kelly stood there rooted to the spot, then felt a pull to her body, an invasion to her mind. She didn't feel any real sense of danger from the 'being' on the bed, more of a sense of calm. It was as if, it were trying to calm her with its eyes. She was more curious as to who or what it was. Man, woman, or neither. The room was so dark that she couldn't really see the figure. Under thoughts that she knew were not here own, she moved closer to the bed.

Taking in what little light that was allowed into the room, through the cracks of the wall, she is able to see his full figure lying on the bed. He is not covered by a blanket, but is wearing a black robe. Allowing her eyes to travel up his body, she notes his height and the broadness of his shoulders. Her eyes travel to his face. A strong face with chisled features, house the eyes of silver. The eyes that draw her to feel at ease and not fright. Pulling her eyes from his, she takes in his long black hair. Looking back to his face she studies it trying to guage how old he is. He looks to be in his mid to late 30's, but yet older at the same time. Staring back at her, she forces her voice to rise from her throats, "Who are you?"
