Accidentally watching the wrong movie

In my mind, i set this at a multi-plex, but it could be at home in front of the home screen.

A young naive religious couple.
Or a more mature couple on a first date, who barely know each other.
or platonic friends on a break from studying.
any pairing not expecting titillation.

end up watching XXX when they expect PG.
(ok, if it's it the cinema, it's just a hard R).
they become too enthralled to leave...

My mind always trends toward meta.

So the couple sit down in an empty theater, the trailers play ... and the movie is actually about them, the couple sitting in the theater. It shows them sitting there, in fact, but the couple on the screen look around, realize they're alone, and start making out. It's weird, but also incredibly exciting. Their eyes meet, they lean in to kiss ....

When they look at the screen again, hands are touching naughty body parts through clothes. The temptation is irresistible ....

The story would have a dreamlike quality, because in real life if you saw a movie about you and your crush making out when you went into a theater, you'd be freaking out, not turned on.

Hmmm, I think there’s a few ways to do this.

1. A lot of theaters nowadays have a lot of steps so you know the movie you’re seeing. Even if you slip into the wrong theater, you get ads for the genre you’re about to see.

The exception is AMC’s mystery night. Now you know the rating and runtime but I could see a religious couple seeing their favorite filmmaker is talking about a partnership with AMC so they think the mystery movie will be his new film. They go and it takes a long time to get to the title.

2. Tubi and some other services autoplay new movies after the last one ends and the selection is wild, sometimes not related at all to what you just watched. So young couple is watching a religious show or movie and they fall asleep in each others arms but wake up during a soft core film (tubi has a few on there). Wrapped up in each other, they can’t lie about the effect the movie is having on them

3. Like @TheWritingGroup said, make it surreal. They are seeking out the only showing of a religious film left and think they found the right theater but they aren’t sure. Still, they are invited in and told to right in as the movie is starting. They know the film is about two missionaries who have to fight against temptation. The film is done first-person perspective and there are some very lewd scenes but the couple persists in watching, even as they feel their hands wander

Then, during a sex scene, the camera focuses on a mirror and the two see themselves in the mirror and only then realize they are nude and fucking right in the aisle

I like the idea of a surreal film, where the couple look at a movie image of a mirror and see their real selves (or their deep desires) reflected in it.

Set it in the 90's, back in the days of video stores, and it could be a case of mixed up video tapes. Couple thinks they're renting wholesome entertainment, like Predator, but instead the tape got swapped with Back Door Girls 32. Or maybe some mischievous customer/employee went through the trouble of recording an adult movie over the original tape and they find themselves watching one of those gang bang videos that were popular for a while.

Either way, they've never seen an adult movie before, so they keep watching even though they know they should be turning it off and watching Touched By An Angel instead. After a while, one notices that the other is trying to covertly masturbate, so they start as well, and then they gradually do it more openly, before finally giving in and are all over each other.

They decide the movie is some kind of sick AI joke, but don't delete it. They both can't stop thinking about it and watching it when the other isn't home.

The husband feels guilty for thinking of his wife that way until he catches her masturbating to the movie, and they actually talk honestly about their sexual desires.
