This is where I go to get names:

If I want a high schooler, I plug whatever the year was 18 years ago. College age? maybe 20 years ago. Then I just browse for a name that fits the character. If I don't find anything I like, I change it from the top 20 to the top 50 and look over the longer list.

He's looking for surnames, not first names.

Use the phone book for last names. Or go by the ethnicity and make it up.

By the way, for the make up threads you can just respond to one of my threads in any of the stories I've posted in. So if you're not finding much inspiration in my story, feel free to add a thread somewhere else. I'd be just as happy either way.
