Added stories never show up on count

This may be just me and it’s a minor issue but very annoying because it’s been there from day one. Somebody adds a story to favourites and it’s a lottery if it shows up and is counted, normally it doesn’t. I post a story, five people add it, the count stays at zero. I say it’s annoying because it’s not like I have huge numbers but the site should work, it shouldn’t be so buggy whereby it’s a lottery if something works or not and the site provides a hosting service but makes money from a hell of a lot of advertising which only exists because people post content. I have tried to contact site management other ways and been completely ignored time after time which doesn’t inspire much confidence.

I’m sure I’m not the first and this issue must have come up before but I put various searches in and nothing came up. Any feedback would be welcome,

Many times, you get told the story was added to Favorites.

And it wasn't, really. The message is inaccurate. It was really added to someone's List. Some Lists are private, making it impossible for you to check, too. I wish they'd fix that, but so far they have not.

You're not alerted when you're added to a private list. Alerts only happen when you're added to public lists, which you can check, but it could be any one of who knows how many lists the person has that you were added to, with who knows how many stories in each.

For the OP, if you download your stats, you'll see that the "lists" number will have increased by one whenever you see a "favorite" that doesn't increment the favorite counter. ( Why the lists number isn't there as part of the standard displayed stats in your control panel, I don't know. You can only get accurate, up-to-date information on that number by downloading your stats )

The alerts don't differentiate between lists additions and favorite additions, but the counter ticked for one of them when you see that alert.
