Adding illustrated version of story after initial submission

I'm looking at submitting my first story. I would like to submit it without illustrations, but I also created an illustrated 'cover' for it. Can I submit it without illustrations, then resubmit to also appear as an illustrated version, featuring just a cover image? Thanks for any guidance!

If you put it in a series (you can have a series with one chapter) then you can add the cover to the series.

Covers on lit aren't very visible though.

You could edit the story to include the image.

I doubt the site would want two copies of the same story, with the only difference being a single image. you'd likely have to choose one or the other.

Ensure you check the art rules, as they have changed last year as to what's allowed.

Duplicates of the same story are not allowed.

I doubt that the presence/absence of cover art will avoid this.

What @Katie_Mae said, but any illustration - even just text on a rectangle of color - which is embedded in the document places the story in the Illustrated category. And you are not meant to have two mostly identical stories published here (there are exceptions where a second version is substantially different from the first).

Are you saying, Submission 1 = Story, Submission 2 = just the cover, but no text?

If so, #2 would be a Art submission, quite separate. But you'd need to observe the current rules for art - no AI, no nudity.

The Series function allows a cover, I think (the same rules apply as for art), but a single story isn't a series.

Hardly worth the effort, really.

In the before time, I had seen two versions of the same story, one illustrated and one in another category without the illustrations.

This was several years ago, and I don't remember the exact stories.

Since they changed the rules, I don't really see the point of illustrations without nudity on an erotic story site.

Even way back, though, I don't think a single cover art illustration would have flown as two stories.
