Once a pdf file (adobe reader) is sent to your email, is there a way to edit the work that was done. I had someone do some work for me and there are a lot of errors that need to be corrected.

The work was originally done in In-Design (sp?) on a Macintosh and I'm unfamiliar with the program.

What I did was bring up the file in MS Word on my PC, but only half of it came up. I had to minimize MS Word to a small box and drag the file into the box because it wouldn't open any other way. It's also 12 pages long.

And even if everything did come up, I'm not sure if I'll be able to edit anything.

Does anybody have any ideas in what program to use, how to edit, fixing the settings, or what I could possibly be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

What kind of errors are they? If they're spelling/grammatical errors, you can fix them if you have the full version of Adobe Writer. It lets you create and edit PDFs, instead of just read them like the free Adobe Reader. But you'd have to buy it.

If they're other kinds of errors (ie graphics), Photoshop might work, but I"m not positive about that.

Hope that helps a little.

It's spelling and grammatical errors, yes.

I'm trying to find the Adobe Writer online. I only have the reader. Hopefully, there's a free download somewhere. Right now I'm not having much luck finding one.

Thanks.

Another way is to use the select tool in reader and just highlight all the text in the document. Then copy and paste it into word and go from their. Depending on the format, it could take a little time, but it's generally a very easy thing to do.

Sure, I can highlight it and put it in Word, but I wanna be able to delete some of the words in Reader, which seems impossible.

I had to download the trial version of Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional to be able to edit.

Useful information, if anyone else was wondering.

Thank God it's over.

Adobe is an extremely poor word processor. You're better off to use Word Perfect to do the processing and editing. WP also allows you to republish to a PDF. You can also open PDF's in WP, at least those that don't have security protocals prohibiting them from being edited.

Acrobat and Acrobat Reader were never meant to be word processors.

Why not go back and ask your sender to send it to you in its original state- more than likely a MS Word document as opposed to encapsulating it in a PDF? Or just have them copy it from the InDesign document and paste it onto an email to you.

Simple!

try download.com or a trial copy of adobe 8 from www.adobe.com. I get pdf's all the time and am able to translate them, however the the programs I use are other 3d modelers and cad programs.

download.com may have one, or not. if not do a web search for pdf to indesign. sounds silly, but a simmilar search has generally turned up results for me.

Adobe Reader

You cannot edit .pdfs unless you have a Standard or Professional version of Acrobat, has to be the full version. Lets you create and edit .pdf files.
Reader will not allow that.
