Adventure Company - Fantasy

Name:Nikolai Von Tartakov
Role:Mercenary/Soldier
Age:35

Location:Tavern-Fort Ridge

None of the names drew a response. Practically everyone acted as if he hadn't spoken though a hush had befallen the room. Nikolai ran a hand over face and began to curse in Krasnodar. Was nothing ever simple with these people? Their xenophobic attitude was growing tiresome. Von Tartakov was usually an affable and pragmatic individual, but he swore an oath on the spot that should he ever be allowed to return home he would suggest to the Czar that they invade this place. He stood there fuming. He adjusted his sword belt, and one of the barmaids fearing violence was imminent spoke up.

"please milord, no need for that."

Nikolai wasn't sure he understood.

"Vas?"
"If'n it's the Adventure Company ye seek I heard 'em tell they was meetin' at the North Gate at Dawn"

He nodded

"Veddy goot, I require lodging. Is any too be had here?"

There was. He gave the girl some coin and hurried off and returned with a key.

"Will there be anything else milord?"

"Yes I vould like something to eat and water for bath. Vill that be problem?"

"Not at all milord? Perhaps ye'd like some company?"

What? Of course he was here to join the company. What the hell did she-oh wait, she was propositioning him. He smiled.

"No thank you devotchka, I vill need someone to fetch in the morning to be at gate on time."

"Of course milord"

Nikolai retired to his berth. His meal and bath arrived in a timely manner. The food was actually enjoyable. The bath was like heaven, it had been far too long. He double checked all his equipment and provisions and promptly went to bed until he was awakened the next morning.

Name: Benjamin Grimstom
Role: Church Knight
Age: 28

Location: Golden Fleece Inn

As was drilled into him, Benjamin was up well before the first light of dawn and have dressed into his cold armor, it was a mild discomfort by now. As was also drilled into him he had said his morning prayer and made sure that his weapons was serviced and in full working condition before he left his room with his possessions tucked under his arm.

Name: Benjamin Grimstom
Role: Church Knight
Age: 28

Location: Northern Gates - Fort Ridge

Benjamin grumbled his annoyance as the dew settled between his armor and chilled him, he guessed from his horse and the pack mule's reactions that they weren't very happy either

"Don't worry, soon we will fry in the warm sun again"

They were standing in the shadows of the gate, the guards on duty dubiously glancing at them every now and again. Benjamin was sure that he was first there, but judging from what he saw of his other companions it would not take them much longer to join him. He flexed his fingers in his gauntlets and grinned to himself, he had no idea why the Church allowed him to go on this quest, but he was enjoying his time away from the drudge of every day

Name: Bello Le Mani
Role: Thief
Age: 22

Location: Alleyway, Fort Ridge

Bello Le Mani woke up feeling terrible. Last night was spent in a corner of The Glass Bowl Tavern, drinking copious amounts of ale with the rowdy bunch of locals he'd met. A real crowd of peasants, he thought, but that didn't bother him. Bello was from a humble background himself, having grown up a fisherman's son in one of the eastern fishing villages. Bello was a charming character who was liked by many. His charm was his highly deceptive and perhaps deadliest weapon.

You see, Bello was a small-time thief who earned his silver going from town to town lifting objects from right from under people's noses. In fact, whilst in the Rusty Horse Tavern yesterday afternoon, Bello had been befriending half the soldiers in Fort Ridge. As their coin purses mysteriously lightened, Bello earned himself a small fortune.

Bello did not not relish the idea of hanging around Fort Ridge for long, namely because before long there would undoubtedly be a dozen angry (and now much poorer) soldiers out looking for blood. As Bello got to his feet, he realised where he was. A dank and rather grotty alleyway appeared to have been where he'd spent the night. As he brushed off some dirt clinging to his tunic, he heard several voices approaching. Suddenly, two scruffy young men came careering through the alleyway and stopped in front of Bello. "Bello! Just the man. We're on our way to the Northern Gates now. They approved all our forms so we're officially members of the Adventure Company!" triumphantly declared one of the men. Bello recognised him from The Glass Bowl the night before. 'Adventure Company?' Bello thought to himself. 'Just how much ale did I drink last night?!" Before he could say a word, he was being marched alongside his new pals to the Northern Gates of Town.

Name: Naida Jaroslawa
Role: Healer
Age: 25

Location: Northern Gates, Fort Ridge

Naida's night had been pretty uneventful. She had gotten there early, gotten a room, and found out where the groups would be meeting in the morning. She had gone to sleep and risen early as she was accustomed to. The brunette arrived at the gate and found herself a little lost.

She probably should have figured out who she was supposed to be traveling with before she had simply gone off to sleep. It was not in her nature to be extremely shy and this was certainly, at least in her mind, not the situation to start being shy.

"Excuse me," she said to a man who seemed to be a knight. The guards that were near him did not look very friendly, and considering he was prepared in the same manner that she was, he might have more information than those other men.

"Good morning," she said with a smile to him. "I was curious if you might know anything about the Adventure Company," she asked with a raised eyebrow and a look that said she hoped she wasn't bothering him.

Name: Zerathul Duskfang
Role: Ranger
Age: 27
Location: Campsite - Fort Ridge Outskirts

Zerathul had woken early, as was his custom, and attended to his small campsite. He made a small breakfast over the fire, and ate it shortly afterward. The food was good for a rough campsite, and he dropped some dirt over the fire to put it out. A brief shrug and he left the campsite.

Location: Northern Gates - Fort Ridge

He arrived at the northern gates in less than five minutes. He observed that he was the first there, and so leaned against a tree, staying in the shadows as he waited. The knight from last night appeared atop his horse. Shortly after a women appeared and conversed with the knight. Just behind them came a small group of men were walking toward the gates, one of them looking rather disoriented.

Zerathul looked around, keeping his movements slow so to not be noticed until it was time to move. He noticed several animals going about their business, but leaving rapidly once they noticed the group at the gates. He turned his eyes back to the gates and waited.

Name: Nikolai Von Tartakov

Age: 35

Location: North Gate-Fort Ridge

Nikolai arrived early at the gate. The company was already beginning to assemble. He inquired of several people and was finally directed to a man who appeared to be in charge.

"Pardon Sir. Allow me to eentroduce myself. I am Nikolai Von Tartakov. I wish to offer my sword to Adwenture Kompany."

The man eyed him skeptically

"Where do you hail from?"

"I come from Glorious Empire of Krasnovia."

"Glorious you say? Well I've certainly never heard of it. What skills do you possess?"

"I serve for years in Krasnovian Army. There is leetle I can't do."

"As I said, I'm not impressed with this Krasnovia of yours. Perhaps a demonstration is in order. It appears you have no horse, you'll need one to keep up. Acquire one in the next two minutes and you're hired."

Nikolai looked for a nearby stable, there was none. Then he spied a portly individual who obviously fancied himself a fighter amongst the members of the company atop a fine black steed. Nikolai approached him and grabbed the horses reigns.

"Your services are no longer required by Adwenture Kompany. Off horse please."

"Eh? Leave go of my horse ya tosser or I'll have your head. Don't you know who I am?"

"I do not care and I do not have time for this. OFF HORSE NOW!"

The man drew his sword and swung at Nikolai. Von Tartakov easily ducked under blade, then grabbed the man's wrist and used his own momentum to spin him from the saddle. Then fellow landed in a heap on the ground. Nikolai stepped up and kicked him in the ribs knocking wind out of him. He hauled the man to his feet and pushed him away.

"Be gone fat boy."

The fat man took to his heels and fled vowing revenge. Nikolai lead the horse back to the company.

"Impressive Von Tartakov. A man who'll do anything to get what he wants. You're certain to be popular with the rest of the outfit. Welcome."

Nikolai saluted and moved into the formation settling next to a heavily armored man and a dark haired girl.

"Good morning, Nikolai Von Tartakov" he smiled broadly and offered them his hand.

Name: Abrielle Regis
Role: Bard
Age: 22
Location: Northern gate – Fort Ridge

Abrielle trotted along silently, her soft, high cut boots barely stirring the dust. She kept the cowl of her brown cloak pulled low over the flowing waves of her honey blonde hair to avoid unwanted attention her effortless grace could sometimes attract from the towns onlookers. She was already late after over sleeping and the last thing she needed was for a street urchin to think she was just a harpist out alone.

Abrielle hated having to prove that she knew what to do with the two short swords strapped to her waist.

At the though of the weapons Abrielle’s hands slid down to grasp the leather bound hilts, temporally stopping the sheaths from hitting her thighs. Although unadorned with pommel stone or rune the bard had come to feel the two plain swords were as natural to her as the harp strung in its shoulder case across her back and as beautiful in their own way.

Pulling the cloak tighter around herself Abrielle upped her pace as she came out of the main street and around the blacksmiths. She let out the breath she had been holding unnoticed when she realised the company where still gathering. When she reached the gathered adventurers, dropping her pack into the dust the bard scanned the area taking note of the individuals of merit from the tavern, again amazed at the amount of metal the knight was wearing.

‘Let the warriors do the fighting’, she thought, opening her cloak to allow neck to be seen Abrielle started to make her way to the wagons.

‘Now that’s the way to travel.’

Name: Bello Le Mani

Location: Northern gate – Fort Ridge

Bello had arrived at the gates alongside his two fellow adventurers. While the two young men busied themselves attempting to attach a package of their supplies to an unruly donkey kicking out at its masters with obvious disdain, Bello decided to take a look around. He would have appeared extremely out of place as he casually sauntered past a very tall and heavily armoured man who appeared to be some form of knight. Considering for a second lifting an item or two from the man's supplies, Bello couldn't help but notice the man had quite possibly the biggest sword with him Bello had ever seen. Taking this into account, he passed up this thieving opportunity and continued to circulate among the growing crowd of adventurers.

There were two things Bello was lacking: a beast to ride and another to carry his supplies. The latter not mattering a great deal at the moment as Bello had no supplies. Not yet anyway. As he made his way along, he spotted a rather large and portly man standing slightly away from the main group. The man was cursing about some foreign mercenary who had robbed him of his horse. In one swift and elegant movement - barely bending down at all, Bello had swept past the chubby man, relieving him of the parcel of goods he had layed down on the floor next to him. It was clearly not this man's lucky day, Bello thought to himself, as he gracefully tossed the parcel up into the air, simultaneously catching and concealing it within his long black cloak.

Reaching one of the assembled wagons, Bello saw out the corner of his eye a local soldier questioning a nearby adventurer. Without hesitation, Bello dived into the back of the wagon and crawled behind a large wooden barrel, hiding himself from view. After his pickpocketing antics of the previous afternoon he was not taking any chances. If a soldier were to recognise him and put two and two together, Bello would be spending the rest of the day in the stocks. Therefore, he thought it best to stay in this hiding place until the Adventure Company's wagons were safely out of Fort Ridge and on their way.

"Excuse me,"

Benjamin turned his head towards the voice as he noticed that the rest of the company was assembling

"Good morning,"

He was about to reply, but she spoke before he could get any word out

"I was curious if you might know anything about the Adventure Company,"

He bowed to her from his saddle

"Good morning ma'am, I can tell you that the man over there"

He motioned to the speaker of the previous evening

"Is in charge and that we are in for one very difficult travel, mountains, passes, snow, ice, water, wild animals...Ok wait that will be food so nothing bad there"

He eyed her speculatively

"You do not seem like an adventurer, soldier, hunter nor thief ma'am, may one inquire as to your chosen profession?"

The brunette found herself smiling as the man took the time to greet her despite the fact that she had not given him the chance to respond to her own 'good morning.' She looked over at the man he was motioning to. She had spoken with him yesterday and he had just said that they were to meet here. She supposed that she would just keep an eye on him for now.

She was surprised when he started talking about how hard their journey was going to be. She guessed that she should expect people to do that, she was not the sort of woman that would normally go on these kind of adventures.

"You do not seem like an adventurer, soldier, hunter nor thief ma'am, may one inquire as to your chosen profession?"

"I am a medic," she said with a warm smile. "I've been trained to use herbs to heal wounds as well as stitch up gashes, find medicinal herbs as I travel, and deal with infections," she explained wondering if he thought she was silly. She gently tugged on the reins to keep her horse from pulling away from her.

"Have you been on many of these expeditions?"

He shook his head

"Our holy mother hardly let's her knights go anywhere that is not church business, so this will be the first time that I go on an expedition like this"

She seemed to be busy drawing away from him so he removed his helmet and gave her a friendly smile

"A healer will be of great help on our journey, I am sure that there is to be a lot of trouble up ahead. If you need anything on this journey feel free to ask me and I will do my best to help"

He grimaced

"And I'm not offering because I'm a knight, I am offering as one human being to another"

Another smile touched his lips

"I will count it as an honor if you would choose to ride along with me"

He let the offer hang in the crisp air between them

Naida was surprised to hear that it was his first time on an adventure like this as well. He looked the part of a man who was well traveled, well at least in all that armor he seemed prepared. She seemed to be much more at ease once her horse chose to stand still and keep her right where she was trying to stay, which was next to the armored knight.

She looked back at him to see his helmet gone now and a smile on his features for her. A tiny blush crossed her features at the look and she fought it back so that she wasn't embarrassing herself too much.

"You will be the first person I ask for help," she said once she had brought herself back to a place where she was not afraid of looking foolish. "And I promise it won't be because you are a knight," she offered with a small laugh.

She looked a little surprised as he expressed that he would be honored if she would ride with him. She felt a blush again but this time just let it go and smiled. "I would be happy to be in your company good sir."

And suddenly she knew that she didn't know his name.

"I am Naida Jaroslawa," she said knowing that he name was probably an odd one in this territory.

"I am Benjamin Grimstom"

He grinned impishly

"I drop the sir out of convenience, it's so much easier for conversations don't you think? Sir this and sir that just stiffens up a conversation. It's an honor to meet you Naida Jaroslawa"

He paused for a moment

"Interesting name you have, especially for these parts, but then again if I look around it does seem that we have a wide variety of people joining the group, so I am sure that yours is the less exotic name we have here"

He ran his gauntlet covered hand over his short hair and grinned

"At least tell me that you have brought some sort of weapon along? I'm sure that even a knife would count as a weapon on this expedition, but then again as you are our healer I'm sure that we all will have a very special interest in keeping you alive, well and fed"

Naida smiled when he said he felt like the sir would stiffen the conversation. "Oh yes, I can see how it would slow things down when trying to get to know someone on a more casual level," she said. She saw the impish smile and had to admit that it looked good on his face. "It is nice to meet you as well good sir," she teased lightly. She had a feeling she would probably be throwing the sir into conversation just to give him a hard time on occasion.

"I am sure it is probably one of the easier ones to pronounce," she agreed. She was probably the least of all of the exotic people running around on this journey. She looked normal enough, not like she didn't belong in this land, it was probably just her name and accent that had her sticking out like a sore thumb.

Naida was surprised that he was worried about her defending herself.

She supposed that it was a valid concern.

"I am not without defense," she said with a warm smile to him. She removed one of her moonblades from her belt. It probably didn't look like any weapon that he was used to, which would be why he wouldn't have noticed it sitting there.

Or her cape had been covering it.

"Women are expected to be able to defend themselves as well as study medicine where I come from," she explained. She wasn't sure what most women were like out here but considering the question they must not be like women from her home territory.

"I still wouldn't mind someone having a special interest in keeping me alive and well," she said before thinking a moment. "And food is always a plus," she said blushing at how ignorant this must have sounded.

((I'm very happy to see this thread continuing even with my lack of activity. For the most part feel free to move us along on the journey, I have no major plans apart from some skermishes once up in the mountains. And I'll hopefully be back before we get that far.

Name: Constance Rion
Role: Hunter
Age: 25

Location: Tavern - Fort Ridge

Constance had awoken early in the morning, just shy of the sun rising. It was her usual morning activity. Wake up early, bathe or wash with a cloth and bowl of cold water and get some food before starting out when the sun woke. Today wasn't the same as waking in the wilderness, but it was a difficult habit to break. The main difference about today was that she had slept soundly for the most part in a soft bed. The feeling although foreign after time away from town, grew comfortable quickly. She confirmed her suspicion of growing soft as she aged, although in part she also confirmed her dreaded internal clock trying to make her settle down. Blasted anatomy.

With a quick soak in the taverns bath, and a quick meal she had gathered up her belongings and headed to the stables. She liked to take her time preparing her horses, checking they were in good health, shod, groomed and fed. They were an expensive commodity, and to let them become lame would be a grave disservice to them after their loyalty. Once both were ready, and her supplies secured she led them out in the morning sun. The Adventure Company had begun to gather, and as she mounted she followed several people out to the front gates.

Pausing to look over the crowd, her eyes wandered across many new comers she hadn't seen the night before.

Her quick eyes caught movement near the wagons, but instead of riding over to investigate she simply watched on from afar. Wondering if it was someone simply hastily checking supplies.

The female bard from the tavern rode up towards the wagons not far away, and with a quick click of her heels into the girth of her horse she trotted over. Coming up alongside the woman, she smiled.

"You never did accept the tip I offered for your singing last night? Although it would have been very easy to miss the offer. If you sing again, I'll be sure to remember and double the tip next time. It's rare to find someone of such vocal talent, but you probably hear such comments often on your journeys."

With hands folded across the pommel of her saddle, she walked her horses on slowly. Keeping pace. She looked natural in the saddle, and comfortable. And her eyes seemed less tired with a good nights sleep under her belt.

Abrielle carefully hid her smile as she watched the silently scampering thief jump into the rear wagon. His movement although not gracefully and seemingly faltering with the after effects of a night in a tavern were still amazingly effective and the bard wandered if he would be amiable to some shop talk.

But before she could follow that idea through with action Abrielle sensed another presence approaching. Turning in her saddle the bard watched the hunter leading two horses towards her and slowed her mare.

"You never did accept the tip I offered for your singing last night? Although it would have been very easy to miss the offer. If you sing again, I'll be sure to remember and double the tip next time. It's rare to find someone of such vocal talent, but you probably hear such comments often on your journeys."

Abrielle offered a quick nod in reply to hide her blush at the compliament. Then turning back around the two women continued the slow ride in.

"My thanks, I do receive much flattery but its rarely given with such sincerity. Next time i play i shall sing you a song worthy of your tip.” Looking over at the hunter, Abrielle smiled, “Then maybe i will accept it.”

Zerathul watched on as more and more of the group gathered. The small group of men arrived after a minute and one of them detatched from the group. The man caught sight of a local guard and dove into a nearby wagon. Interesting. Constance arrived and spoke to the bard from the inn last night. He had noticed that the young woman didn't catch Constance when she called last night. She must be wanting to give her that tip.

Just to their side, another well armored man came into view and spoke to the head of the company here. The man then proceded to hijack another fellow's horse and return to the head man. Zerathul got the feeling he would have a problem with this one. He did not like any who come from the nation that this particular man was from, and he seemed to be worse. He would do anything to get what he wants. Granted, Zerathul was much the same, but he did it for different reasons. He realized that he would need a mount for the trip. He would walk, but it was not fast enough. He could not run for that long and keep up his strength.

He moved off the tree. Probably time to get to know those who would be covering his back. He stepped out from the shade of the tree and moved through the large group, not so much as brushing against a single one of them as walked through. Not many in this world can touch him if he doesn't allow it. He listened in on conversations and took note of how people carried themselves, how they spoke, and what equipment they carried. He discovered most of what he could learn without speaking to each person, which he did not intend to do, and found himself stopped just off to the side of the knight from last night, who was mounted on his horse and speaking to another women who had a rather curious set of blades.

Bello, too impatient for his own good, snuck out from behind the barrel and crept towards the entrance of the wagon to assess the situation. Timidly peering round the corner, he concluded that the town guard had moved on. Feeling it was safe to exit his hiding place, he climbed out of the wagon and planted his feet firmly on the ground outside, filed with a renewed vigor after the previous night's revelry. Bello was feeling very proud of his victory over the local law enforcement. He decided not to wander too far away from the wagons as they would be his mode of transport, owing to the fact he didn't have a horse to ride. He felt that commandeering a horse from right under an unsuspecting adventurer's nose in broad daylight was asking too much, even for Bello's talents.

He heard voices nearby and turned round to see two female adventurers steadily approaching. Straightening himself up and preparing to turn on the charm, he stepped forward, politely smiling and called out, in a poetic tone: "How are you today, young maidens? The sun was not shining on this day until some divine being ventured to part the clouds only to behold your beauty. And thus the sun shone golden rays upon your fair skin... allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bello Le Mani and I am a member of the Adventure Company, of which I can only assume you are also a part of". Upon speaking these words, Bello performed a very low bow, head almost sweeping the ground.

"I'd guess that on a journey like this you do not want to be caught short provisioned"

He motioned towards the pack mule

"I'm sure there should be enough food..."

He broke off as he saw the cloaked figure of the previous evening come drifting through the gathered group like a wisp of smoke, not touching nor being touched. A very dangerous man, he thought to himself, then he turned his attention back to Naida

"I'm sure there should be enough food for a group of three of four people and with the hunter along I'm sure that we can get fresh provisions in the meat department"

He glanced at the leader of the group who seemed ready to depart, he placed his helmet on his head and secured it before looking at the cloaked figure

"Sir it seems like you are in a need of a mount, I did notice one at the livery, a fine horse, but unable to carry me. The owner said one gold coin for that fine animal. It really is what they call a steal, maybe you would want to look into that"

Benjamin turned his attention back to the leader

The brunette hadn't taken notice of the pack mule until just now. She had to admit that it looked as if the man was indeed well stocked and that he would not be in too much trouble, she supposed that she had picked a good travel buddy, that much was for sure. She looked to the man that Benjamin had addressed once his helmet was in place. He was on foot and she was pretty sure that being on foot like that was not going to keep him up with the rest of the group.

She offered him a smile, she supposed that smiling at every single person that happened to be traveling with you might just be inviting trouble, but it was just in her nature to do so.

She honestly could not help herself.

"You mentioned earlier that you haven't been out on an adventure like this before... Can I ask why now?" She was a little curious.

"I have been on expeditions before with other knights, but then when we had pages and cooks along, but this will be a new experience for me to go alone and look after myself"

He turned his head to look at her

"It is when I asked for time off from my duties that the form came to my attention, I decided that I would follow my mind and go on this adventure, one can only learn from it or die on it and I am sure that the services I have done for our holy mother the Church would give me some salvation if I am to perish"

He chuckled

"Come to think of it, all the treasure that may be mine after this adventure goes to the Church so all in all I am here on Church business in my own time"

He fixed his eyes on her, the rising sun making them visible in the shadows of his helm

"Why is it that a fair lady skilled with healing ways has come on an adventure like this one?"

((I'll move us on a little ways, to get us started on the journey.))

Name: Constance Rion
Role: Hunter
Age: 25

Location: Leaving Fort Ridge

Up ahead of the gathered group, when no more people seemed to arrive for what seemed like a good half an hour, the leading members of the Adventure Company began to move out. They headed down the well defined track that led due north of Fort Ridge. Hoping to make good time and find camp in safe territory. Most of the party rode on horseback, however many happened to hitch a ride on the tailgates of the wagons, or simply walked along beside everyone else. Although only the best were expected to sign up, many of the wagons were run by simple merchants, cooks and carers. As those loitering around behind everyone else started to move out to follow the others, Constance also began to walk along the side of the path.

Later she might offer her services leading the party, but very few could possibly lose their way on such well wandered roads.

Looking to Abrielle, Constance smiled. She enjoyed the personality of the other woman, and found it refreshing. It seemed to echo the mood she could set the men in with simple songs, and gave the start of the journey an uplifting feeling. Although Constance still felt a little unprepared for what lay ahead. No matter the preparations, the unknown was sketchy.

"I suspect it would be a tip saved for when we return, maybe help in other ways would be more acceptable. How I can help is left up to what you need, but just ask if I'm around."

With a smirk she turned her attention off the wording of her comment and onto those who rode with them. She hoped at some point to speak to them all, as knowing who watched your back was of high importance.

Constance did manage to overhear one portion of the conversation between the Knight and Healer, and chuckled at the reply she would have given if asked that sort of question. To heal the wounds many of us will have, through accidents or combat. Constance was sure many would need a healer, especially once they headed into the mountains. Part of her hoped that the Healer was used to death, as many would possibly perish simply from the cold.

They had passed into the forests, where tall trees with thick branches and large expanses of leaves shaded them from the morning sun. It was a moderate morning, very little breeze, a mild temperature and medium humidity. She could already see some of the people walking with the wagons taking sips from their water skins. Many were not used to this type of travel.

Naida couldn't help but smile as he spoke about working for the church on his off time. It was noble to give money earned to the church. Was she here for the money? Not especially, though it would be good to get the money so that she could settle herself down somewhere. She looked over and was able to see his eyes as the sun shone down on the whole group and into his helmet.

"Why is it that a fair lady skilled with healing ways has come on an adventure like this one?"

"Well," she started trying to think how she was going to say why she was out here, "I wanted to have an adventure. I will more than likely have to settle down and start working much like my mother and grandmother did and before I did that I wanted to get out and see things, do things that they never did, and it wouldn't hurt to make some money so that I can see about opening up a shop to work out of," she explained.

That was a lot of reasons she supposed.

"Besides, I noticed that there were not a lot of healers signed on when I joined up so I guess, I felt like this was where I was supposed to get my start," She said as she kept eye contact.

"What do you think we're going to see out here?" She asked.

He sought out the man the knight had mentioned and purchased the horse from him. It came with the saddle and bridle for just another gold piece. He mounted his horse, whose name he found out was Abelard, and led him back to the group.

They had already started off while he was gone, so he nudged Abelard into a steady canter to catch up. They slowed and he led his horse just apart from the group, but close enough that he could react to any threats that may appear. He glanced over and identified each of the individuals that he knew. The knight, Constance, the bard, the thief, and the other soldier. He turned his gaze back to the road. He was pleased to find that Abelard moved almost as quietly as he did. Quiet as a horse can manage, that is.

"I suspect it would be a tip saved for when we return, maybe help in other ways would be more acceptable. How I can help is left up to what you need, but just ask if I'm around."

The comment although said without intonation was enough to lift Abrielle’s right eyebrow. The ranger was obviously a person of diverse skills. Opening her mouth to speak the bard was surprised to see the thief out of his hiding wagon and bowing before them.

"How are you today, young maidens? The sun was not shining on this day until some divine being ventured to part the clouds only to behold your beauty. And thus the sun shone golden rays upon your fair skin... allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bello Le Mani and I am a member of the Adventure Company, of which I can only assume you are also a part of".

When the long laugh finally left her throat and Abrielle was fanning her face to remove the flush she could speak. “I am wise to the nimbleness of your fingers and the quickness of your words Bello. Please continue with your flattery but be assured my heart is in no danger.” Turning to indicate the athletic brunette beside her the bard continued, “Let me introduce Constance, and I am Abrielle also of nimble fingers.”
