Here I sit, alone in the bar, swirling the last of my vodka around in the bottom of my glass. I can already begin to feel the creeping affects of the last two drinks, but not enough to call myself drunk. Uncomfortable, I shift in my sit before adjusting my tight, black mini dress, the matching black pumps on my feet swinging freely beneath the bar. I am unable to push the tragic thoughts of the past few days to the back of my mind; from the cheating, to the break-up, and now, considering the fact that I am no longer staying at my former boyfriend's house, I've been forced to spend what little cash I have on a hotel. Luckily, I am able to walk to the bar for drink to clear my head.
As I finish off the glass and slide it across the bar to the bartender for a refill, I can't help but notice a man, dark-haired and blue-eyes, sitting a couple of barstools away. His icy gaze has caught mine for the second time within a matter of five minutes, and strangely enough, I am unable to break the eye-contact.
