Today was my third day at East Metro's illustrious St. Amaterasu University and, already, things were weird.
First off, I should introduce myself. My name is Apollo. Yes, I know, what a strange name. But my parents were typical scholar nerds and they loved their mythology, so deal with it. I did, over the course of the 21 years I've been alive. I also happen to not only be a new student, but I'm also a foreigner, a exchange student currently staying in America for the term of my courses. You can imagine what that was like; standing at six feet with short but messy brown hair, hazel eyes, tanned skin, muscles and an Aussie accent, I tend to stand out enough to make the crowd of girls following me grow from one to twenty at best. All I wanted to do was just do my work and go home.
However, there is one girl who isn't like the rest: Mona. She stays away from me, as if being near me could cause a nuke to go off within her and kill the planet. I catch her glances every now and then, but it's like she is either shy to talk to me or doesn't see me like the others do. I can't blame her; she IS a strong girl, after all, every stride she makes having purpose.
Oh, right. I forgot. Why is this third day of uni weird, you ask? Well, it all started one day at the library. I had just sat down, reading the English texts the class required to read by the end of the week. There wasn't anyone nearby, no-one in the library at all in fact. So, I felt less inhibited to remain quiet and that was why, when I felt something brush against my leg and I looked under the desk to see what I was, I cried out in surprise.
It was Mona.
