American Dark Ages Begin 2017

LMAO....Dude, seek help. Seriously, if that's what you honestly think the sky looks like, you might be delusional.

Just wait until the new Trumpianian gets his hands on the EPA and the east coast will disappear in a vail of 'clean coal' smoke.

This is indeed what the sky looks like. Then it caught fire and there was no more sky, just weeks and weeks of heavy smoke. Ahh yes you have to love coal fuel. This is real and this was serious and it happened two years ago, one and a half hours drive from where I live. Link to Coal fueled power station.

And this may have actually happened. It doesn't represent our future..With or Without Trump.

Just because one side loses an election, doesn't mean the "Dark Ages" are upon us.
I hope you are right ,but I believe you are wrong because without a strong EPA we will see a large increase in the amount of pollution in the environment .

Reminder folks -- the USA isn't a democracy. It's a Constitutional Republic. We are governed by the Constitution which calls for us to elect Representatives to the Federal and State governments to run things for us. The representatives pass the laws. If we were a true democracy we would vote on everything with the popular vote winning.

I'm a straight, happily married (to a woman), moderate Democrat .. liberal on social and environmental issues, moderate on economic and foreign policy issues.

Trump & the EPA -- He's proposed put a climate change denier in charge. Expect to see a slight increase in air pollution over the next four years as air pollution laws are scrapped or not enforced. Due to current regulations many companies have already switched from coal and/or have spent hundreds of millions on new technologies to move away from coal due to current regulations. Don't know if they'll scrap the money they spent and switch back or not. Other industries will have a green light to produce and pollute without fear of retribution.

Trump & the economy -- I'm taking a wait and see approach. Right now it's looking like big business will benefit and if interest rates go up, the financial sector will benefit. Although from a personal standpoint Trump would want to keep these rates down so his kids can borrow money cheap to grow his real estate empire. On the job front, I'm hoping he gets to push through his infrastructure spending plans, our roads and bridges need it. On the job front, he says companies that leave will face heavy tariffs and penalties, but it looks like he's using tax incentives and breaks as bribes to get companies to stay.

Trump & social issues -- This is where it gets scary. The people he's appointed to key positions thus far do not believe in affirmative action or civil rights legislation. The judges on his list of potential appointees are all anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage. One of the judges on his list even went as far as calling Miranda Warnings the worst case of judicial activism in history. That is flat-out scary.

Foreign policy -- We'll have to see how he deals with our other allies, but right now, his handling of Asia/Pacific rim countries doesn't look promising.

What could be scarier -- The changes that could be coming to the Constitution. Republicans control close to 70% of state legislatures. If 2/3 of the states call for a Constitutional Convention, one would be held and the Constitution could be dramatically re-written. OR if the proposed amendment passes with a 2/3 majority in the House and Senate it goes to the states for approval. It might be tough getting that margin in the Senate, but it's possible.

I hope you are right ,but I believe you are wrong because without a strong EPA we will see a large increase in the amount of pollution in the environment .

Considering the EPA is little more than Monsanto's goon squad at this point I don't think that will be the case.

When are they going to include a doctor's office near the security check in, at airports ?

Sunday’s events clearly shook her — as she explained in the video she posted to her Facebook page and later to YouTube and the entry she wrote on her blog.

“I was in such shock last night that I didn’t include all of the details,” she wrote Monday, referring to a “humiliating” experience with the TSA.

Albert began chemotherapy in February, and opted for a medical port, which UW Medicine (published by the University of Washington) described as a catheter or a “long, hollow plastic tube” that is “connected to a plastic and metal reservoir.” It’s used to inject medicine directly into a vein.

Albert’s port, made of metal embedded in her chest, is used for chemotherapy, which hasn’t been easy on the 42-year-old. She now wears a wig due to hair loss, and the treatment has caused an infection across her body, “including on my feet,” she wrote.

To battle this infection, she carries a large container of medical cream — larger than three ounces.

Naturally, this makes flying somewhat difficult. She has to warn Transportation Security Administration agents of the oversize cream, that she won’t take off her shoes due to the infection, and that she has a metal port in her chest, which can show up when going through the body scanner.

The security agents played their game. Humiliate the TV star.

When I asked them why they were doing all of this, they kept repeating because I have the cream. That makes no sense. They didn’t say it was something with my scan,” Albert told Us magazine. “They were out of line. They were laughing. They had smirks on their faces.”

She pulled her wig off of her head.
(Cancer is not kind to scalps.)

A doctor could have read the papers she brought with her.
She did everything right.

He could have looked at the surgery site, the equipment and the medical cream.

What's wrong? I thought you loved uber huge gubbmint??

Jesus Christ will you people make up your minds?

Can't be communist nanny state control freaks and libertarians at the same time....

Someone doesn't like the teams hypocrisy being called out :D

Directions are changing little lemming, fear not I'm sure you'll be running with the herd again soon as soon as they figure out where to go from the failure of their epic "Fuck white people!!" campaign. :)
Right, I'm sure you'll soon be allowed to take your guns on the plane with you. It's your right to defend yourself.

I fly with guns regularly.

I even spent 15 hrs on a commercial 747 with an M4 that had an M203 attached to it. I had 22 mags of ammo, HEDP/smoke/lum 203 grenads, flashbangs and frag grenades too. :D

This is a weird statement. If it is true, and if you do have a valid permit to do this, why would you brag about this on a site like Lit? If it is true, and you do not have a permit to do this, it demonstrates a huge gap in security.

I hope there will be some follow-up to determine if this statement is true or is simply troll hyperbole.

It was one of the first civilian provided flights to Kuwait during OIF III way back in march 05.

I was part of a cool guy crew and since we were catching military transport in Germany and the logistics weren't in place for safety fuck fuck games. So me and my gang of 138 Airborne gangsters are some of the only people who ever got to fly transatlantic commercial with machine guns and grenades.

They took all our shit coming back though, even made us bathe....after we bathed.

Those poor flight attendants, the smell had to be eye watering.

why would you brag about this on a site like Lit? .

It was just a rather unique experience, not that big of a deal but since phro brought up flying with guns....why not?

Besides if I wanted to really brag about flying I'd tell you about my ride in an F-16.

Check it out.

I also made friends with a USAF Col. (and most the officers in her wing or whatever) who not only saved my ass on more than 1 occasion but took me for a spin in her F-16 back stateside.

It was the ultimate thrill ride, I don't know how else to describe getting hot dogged around in a fighter jet. She put me to sleep a few times, did some cruising about with the squadron, did a mid air refuel, it was dope as fuck. :D

I imagine you would have to go into space to best going out and ragging on an F-16 with the homies.

Bring out your memes, any old memes.

The Vatican had its hand in the original Dark Ages.

The Vatican has lost control over the United States of America.

The Extreme Right Religious have reason to celebrate.

Religion, government, the military, and business riding in the same cart.

The Right Wing GOP threw the baby out with the bathwater.

They decided the anti Christ was their warrior.

Domination of the world, or end of the world.

Win/ win for them.

No fear of the button getting pressed.

Make the world Christian, or go straight to their version of Heaven.

What will happen to the Constitution, if the Democratic party is starved to death ?

Awwwwww, did Trump's win ruin your journey??? Sorry....

Having a brother who was a lifer in the USAF, I am familiar with bragging about the hardware.

Your prior posts make more sense to me now.

So you carried your country's guns on a plane, but you can't do the same with the ones in your basement. Is that the source of your bitterness?

What a strange conversation to be having, considering the lone madman killing strangers in the Florida airport.

In a sad but ironic twist of fate, the Friday mass shooting at the Fort Lauderdale -Hollywood International Airport comes one week before Florida legislators planned to debate a new bill allow the carrying of firearms in airports

Last summer, the Justice Department decided to start winding down its use of private prisons.

Deputy Attorney General Sally Q. Yates noted in a memo that while private prisons were useful when public prisons were overflowing, they made little sense now that the prison population was falling. They didn’t save much on costs. Nor did they provide the kind of rehabilitation programs proven to reduce recidivism.

Nov. 9, the day after Donald J. Trump was elected president, the stocks of correctional conglomerates were among the best performing on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares in Corrections Corporation of America gained an astonishing 43 percent on the day. The reason? Privatization is back at the top of the government’s agenda..

There’s a magical thinking among business executives that something about the profit motive makes everything run better,” noted Raymond Fisman, a professor of economics at Boston University. “What is government going to be like when it is run by billionaire C.E.O.s that see the private sector as a solution to all the world’s problems?”

"...it seems unlikely Mr. Trump’s team will take the thoughtful path."

No...I'm not bitter, you just wish I was.

The persistent baseless accusations you make about others say a lot more about you than those you throw them at ;)

The clouds parted. the sun came out we were saved. Hail Obama. Hail the King.

Just because one side loses an election, doesn't mean the "Dark Ages" are upon us.

I would agree with that if the incoming POTUS were Bush or Kasich or even Cruz. But this is a completely different situation. This is not normal.

Reminder folks -- the USA isn't a democracy. It's a Constitutional Republic.

It's a democratic republic. As opposed to, say, an aristocratic republic, like the Roman Republic, or the Venetian Republic, or many antebellum American states.

In my experience, anyone who says "our country is a republic, not a democracy" is not arguing but ranting. When he means anything by it, what he means is that America is a federal state, not a unitary state -- which is true, but has nothing at all to do with any purported difference between a republic and a democracy.

It's a democratic republic.

Microscopic on the democracy, HUGE on the republic.

To the point most people who made it past high school don't consider it that but a Constitutional Republic due to it's remarkable lack of democracy.

In my experience, anyone who says "our country is a republic, not a democracy" is not arguing but ranting.

That's because you don't like hearing anything that conflicts with your socialist outlook/agenda.

When he means anything by it, what he means is that America is a federal state, not a unitary state -- which is true, but has nothing at all to do with any purported difference between a republic and a democracy.

"let me tell you what you think!" LOL what a good socialist....

No he means that our FF's took every measure they could in the Constitution to temper and gut check 'democracy' because simple mob rule is not only dangerous but political/economic suicide and they knew that.

To the point we for the most part don't even elect our elected officials, we elect the electors, we have the electoral college and super majority clauses/rules for changing laws and on and on and on....the Constitution is MASSIVELY anti-democratic, and itself practically impossible to fuck with via democracy except for the remotest notions of the term.

We aren't a socialist democracy, never were meant to be a socialist democracy.........it's as anti-American as ISIS.
