The difference is Trump has faced all criminal and civil charges in various courts. Most of those cases have been adjudicated or are in the appellate stages. No statute of limitations were allowed to expire, no attempts to offer sweetheart deals have been made, and no retroactive blanket pardons have been granted.

He got off, but the fact remains he killed a guy while restraining him in a choke hold and was no longer an actual threat because he was restrained.
