An ex shows up unexpectedly

Since it's near Thanksgiving, I thought I would share an experience and ask if anyone else has experienced a similar occurrence. Lat Thanksgiving, my wife's niece brought a new boyfriend to the family dinner. The guy happened to be a former fuck buddy of my wife's from back in her swinging days. When he was introduced, I saw the look on my wife's face and got the idea that something was wrong. She took me aside and told me that he was Dave, the gut she had shared a few stories about with me. Their time together was not good and he was generally a liar and not a good person. Perhaps the worst offense was when he tried to pimp her out to his friends while he watched and wanted to video the encounter. My wife was vehemently opposed to this and that led to their break-up. Another thing that made this encounter uncomfortable was that he tried to get my wife alone multiple times, to the point that I had words with him about it.
The question is, should my wife tell her niece about this guy? This would obviously be risky if her niece had developed feeling for this guy. Also, it might expose my wife's secret past.
What do you guys thinks? After I get a few responses, I'll tell you what we actually did.

If your wife cares about her niece at all then yeah. Make up some third party that dated him or something to cover your wife's past but, yes, the women should discuss.
