The Thing About Vanilla

Its hard to argue with vanilla ice cream. Sure, it may not get the media coverage that chocolate or strawberry, or even pistachio gets, but is there any more pleasing flavor than vanilla? Creamy and soft, its a taste entirely without sharp edges. Those that argue that vanilla is bland and boring only reveal the crudity of their palettes; naturally, vanilla responds to sophisticated tongues, those that appreciate subtlety and know how to enjoy a rich flavor. Not to mention vanilla's versatility - its perfect in a variety of settings and contexts, paired with softer and harder flavors, mixing and swirling among them to create something new. Best of all, when youre finished eating it your face is sticky, messy, and wet.
