I was bored at work. I was supposed to be finishing up typing up correspondence for my boss, but instead my mind kept wandering to the new guy on the next team. I hadn’t caught his name, but he’d looked directly at me and smiled when he was introduced to my team as a whole. Whenever I’d looked up from my desk, he was watching me with a cheeky grin.
I glanced at the clock. If I hurried, I could catch the 1pm break. With a flourish, I typed the last couple of letters for the boss to sign, and headed down to the canteen.
I usually kept myself to myself, so as usual I bought my sandwiches and sat in the corner, with my nose in a book.
