Thanks again poets. I'm now waiting on a home ventilator, which is finally arriving tomorrow after much hissy-fitting (look Annie, a new gerund!) on my part. Getting proper health care in the USA sucks unless you happen to be wealthy. I am not and am becoming less so due to all the equipment, etc.

Tzara I love the poem you shared. I shall happily gossip about you, starting with your amazing ability to open cans and bottles. May it be true!

Yesterday my sister gave me a crossword to finish and I had to use a magnifying glass because I couldn't see the numbers. My eyesight is fading fast and to say I'm frightened is very much an under statement. Soon I won't be able to see enough t type in here, is there any way of making it bigger? I've fiddled with font sizes but that only seems to make it bigger after you've typed it.

I have fast growing Cataracts and am on the waiting list, I have an assessment appointment for February. Then I go on another list for the operation. It's a waiting game and my eyes get worse daily and it's doubtful whether they will hold out that long

Hi UYS, I don't know about your computer but mine has a change zoom size button in the lower right corner that goes up to 400% hope that helps.

Also, you can customize your text size by holding the <ctrl> key and either scrolling your mouse as you keep it depressed or by tapping the plus ( + ) key to customize your size.

If you are using a Windows IOS platform, you can access "accessibility" through your display settings and searching "accessibility". A number of options will pop up that you can explore to make reading and working a whole lot easier

Good luck with the waiting game. Once the wait is over the operation is "routine" and improvement was more or less immediate in my mother's case.

UYS, if you like, I can write to a specialist--my friend--from Sweden (he works also in Norway). I may find if he can see you within a short time (without me or him knowing your identity at this stage; and later too, it'll be between the doctor and you only, I still don't need to know anything).

If you say yes, and he can arrange your visit, I'll write to you how you can contact him. Then it'll be up to you.

If he works in Norway and Sweden there's no way I could get to him, I don't even own a passport anymore as I'm not well enough in other ways to travel not even far in my own country. Just getting to medical appointments in a wheelchair is a chore unto itself and that's without enquiring if other countries allow me to travel with morphine. I do thank you for your kind offer though.

If it is something you can use, it might be worth knowing that CBD is legal in UK these days. It is not as documented as I'd like it to be, but it might slow it down a bit.

As I understand it currently CBD oil in the UK can only have a maximum THC content of 0.2%.which is next to useless and I haven't seen it as a prevention of cataracts.

Ah, I might be remembering wrong yeah. I thought it was CBD that reduced cataracts, not THC. A damn shame
