Any typewiter users?

I make too many mistakes for typewriter use. I couldn't bring myself to write until I had daily access to a PC and a word processing program. And for a few years there the words just flew up onto the page.

My handwriting id so bad, I had to start using something; an old Imperial typewriter was just fine. Then I realised I wasn't sure how to say what I wanted without either typing half or a line & a half at once.

My parents despaired of getting a 'decent' letter from me. Then I got my first computer, complete with a simple text editor. Surprise; 'readable and lucid' they said after I pounded out my first missive on the Dragon32, printed on an old Centronics 9-pin head.

I'm not keen on Word, either, but it's better than some others, and at least I am used to it.

Back in the day, I had to solve this by writing my rough draft(s) in a notebook and then editing on the fly while I transcribed it into type. Oh, and with lots of Liquid Paper or correction film. Gah, it was a labor intensive process, but I do miss it sometimes. I think I was actually a more productive writer then, when I had to sit and apply myself with no other distractions.
