I know this probably sounds like the opposite goal, but I wanted to know if anyone knew of a way to stop being horny...at least for now.

For the past two weeks, I've been horny as hell and it becomes somewhat of an obsession...I have been masturbating when I wake up and before I go to bed but the relief only lasts for about half an hour or so and then I am burning for something to be rubbing me or needing something inside of me again. I'm masturbating the minimal amount that I can but even that has been interfering with work and I'm getting in trouble. I also have lost a lot of sleep over this. I don't know what I can do besides just live with it like I've been doing, it just usually isn't this bad or persistent. I am used to being wet all day, that part is normal for me, but I am not used to this driving need for orgasms...

Please reply with any help...believe me I love being turned on..but this is too much..

Sounds like you need to see a doctor or strive to have more quality fulfilling orgasms

You may have Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder.

This isn't a joke, or something that is "Cool" and porn-like as the neandrathals above me have tried to turn it into.

This is a VERY SERIOUS MEDICAL CONDITION and you need to seek a doctor's advice ASAP.

I am so very glad it's not just me. I have been so turned on and wet these last few weeks it has been driving me crazy.

I finally decided yesterday to not let myself cum until Wednesday. That lasted about an hour, but I have been fairly successful today :D

If you do manage to find a solution, let me know :)

Since it's interfering with your life and work, you need to see a doctor (and preferably one who specializes in sexual issues).

And make sure you fully research and run anything you're considering taking by a qualified medical professional, since many supplements have interactions, contraindications and side effects.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out! :rose:

I have had a similar situation from time to time. There have been times when I had to mentally stay focused to do my work and not jump someone.

To echo several posters, if it's interfering with your life and work, please see a doctor to rule out any medical condition, including hormonal imbalance.

IF, and only IF the medical professional ruled out any physical causes, you can try to 'redirect' your energies into something mentally/physically challenging, preferably both that will occupy your mind and hopefully exhaust your body. However, this takes several weeks, and I'd like to remind you that this is one option, and one that could be explored AFTER you have received health check.

If this came on suddenly, you really do need to see a doctor. It could be an imbalance in hormones, which could be a sign of a much larger medical problem. It will likely turn out to be something not serious, but you really do need to find out.

I agree. Whenever any condition interferes with your basic quality of life, it's best to get a bit of help. Talk to a doctor. Please don't be worried or shy. It's less important that having fulfilling days. I wish you the best. x

Thank you for all of your replies, I knew I wasn't the only with this problem. And it sounds like the best thing to do would be to see a doctor...and if it continues or gets worse then I'm not going to have much of a choice. But it also sounds like there isn't a whole lot I can do about it anyways. I am hoping it will just go away.. I don't know what to do. But I'm starting to feel very depressed about it because I am dreadfully tired. Which in turn makes me very upset because even though my body and mind are tired, it doesn't stop. This can't last forever can it? I mean if it is some kind of hormone imbalance, won't they balance themselves out again?

Thank you for your help.

It sounds hormonal, or like you are in constant ovulation, neither of which is that great for you.

are you on any medications which might have this as a side effect?

Why suffer, when you can at least start the process of getting it checked out? It could be a hormone or chemical imbalance, and I can think of several things a good doc could do to get you back on track and relieve the symptoms. Yes, hormones usually balance themselves unless you have some kind of underlying condition. And you really don't want to take that chance just in case it's a very serious underlying condition, like some form of cancer, or even a psychological disorder.

Out of curiosity, have you started any medications or anything else recently? Are you on hormonal birth control? Is there any chance you could be pregnant, or could have been pregnant recently? Do any chemical imbalances/psychological conditions run in your family? You don't have to answer here, but those are the types of questions your doctor should be asking, so you may want to think about the possibilities before your appointment.

Some people who complain about being constantly horny are actually experiencing the symptoms of an STD

a few possible ways to stop being horny

-go on the pill
-have surgery
-take antidepressants

Since you don't want to see a doctor at the moment, here is my suggestion, and even if it doesn't work you should have fun trying.

Set aside a day where you have nothing to do, and won't be disturbed. Depending on your circumstances you may need to tell people you are sick, but given how tired you are that shouldn't be difficult to pull off.

On that day, your job us to cum and to sleep, and nothing else. You should also jeep things as basic as possible, no toys, no porn, no books, just your mind and your fingers. If you need toys to cum then enforce 5mins without first each time.

You will need to eat, so get some comfort food in that can be prepared quickly and eaten in bed. Get a jug of water so thirst doesn't keep you awake. And have some music to listen to quietly if that will help you to drift when sleep is not easy and your mind wants to race.

Once you have this day planned, you need to save up your energy for that day. Not an outright ban as that is unrealistic, but think to yourself do I REALLY need this one, or can I bank it for the big day? When I was having similar problems the focus on a specific day really helped me to focus on something other than now when I had the urge.

I only did this a couple of times, but on the best one I woke at 5am for my first, and was busy from then on. I finally got up in the evening and watched a couple of films and ate some pizza before finally going back to bed and enjoying my 12th. Who knows how many a woman in the same situation might have?

Thank you very much for posting your method of relieving this sort of thing. I will most likely be doing this soon, it sounds like a good idea. I think just promising myself that I'll get this time off is helping a little.

I'm not on any medications and I don't want to be. I know it's not an STD because I've never had sex. And being turned on is common for me, it just usually isn't this bad....so I just don't know if seeing a doctor is really worth the time and money, it's not easy for me to find the time during the day. It doesn't make sense to suffer, but I'd like to find a natural way of healing this...but if it persists..even after I try this method..I will probably have no choice but to seek a doctor.

I'd just like to know, if there are any other good ways to deal with this...

I can't say I have experienced the same thing because I don't think it has affected my sleeping. There are many times where I would be really turned on and in the mood for about a week or two before my period. I would get to the point where I am really really sexually frustrated no matter how many times I masturbate, so it could be hormonal imbalance. Just wait it out a little and see what happens, if the problem continues, then I suggest you go to your ob/gyn just to check out everything and make sure you're A-okay especially if it is effecting your life that much.
