the chat- 3 regulars / mods who say the same thing to each other every day.

A bot pops in every few minutes, gets banned, the most exciting thing that ever happens.

Real users presumably every few minutes who say hi, and then vanish.

I deleted the bookmark for the chat.

To the casual observer I get it. There IS amazing fun to be had. You have no idea what you're missing. The key is patience and a profile. I was hoping the forums might offer that same magic in another form. It's more like thread after thread of use the second letter of the word above you to start a new one, would you do X with the poster above you, what are you thinking right now.... Oh well.
