Anyone for a nightcap?

For tonight's pizza: Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon. Alas, the Purple Angel is so hard to come by and tonight is a celebration worthy of the angel, so this is the next best thing from the house of Montes that's readily accessible.

I am currently counting down to Makers Mark o'clock. When it arrives, I will generously air toast in your celebratory direction. :)

Time to get this party started....again!

Ending the day that started with a colossal tool of a customer cussing me out, followed by an owner that seems to think that I have enough down time while single-handedly running his office that I can SWEEP THE FLIPPIN' FLOOR!
(Why don't you just make me wear a French maids outfit? Ass.)

Bite me.

A snifter of Courvoisier, please.

Salute!

*resurrects thread* OOO ZOMBIE THREAD COME TO DRINK YOUR BRAAIIIINNNZZZZ (as a nightcap)

So, I just concoted myself a tasty little "kinda Toddy". Rooibos Tea, couple splashes of Ribena (elderberry cordial, for those unfamiliar) and a splash of Bourbon. TASTY.

I also have been using a small small glass of Fine Old Galway Pipe (20 yr aged Tawny Port) as a nightcap to GREAT satisfaction. I paid only $36 for this bottle and I feel like I STOLE it!!

Also, it's not alcoholism if it's only a LITTLE nightcap before bed every night, right? >_> I mean...it's mostly out of sheer enjoyment for the flavour and the warm fuzzy feeling from sipping port is just a BONUS!

16 yo Lagavulin. Tasty, somehow kind of fruity, really really smooth. A bit too smooth for my taste, so it's not my favorite, but it's still very enjoyable.

Epic Armageddon IPA while cooking. Let's hope I still have all fingers after filleting oranges.

Don't drink and dice!

I'm drinking Nøgne Ø God Jul strong ale. One of the best Christmas beers I've had in years.

Done and still able to count to ten.

Sounds interesting. I'll see if I can find it here.

A glass of The Dreaming Tree ~ Crush North Coast 2011

It's a creation from a collaboration between Dave Matthews and Steve Reeder. A fun and tasty Cali sip.

Cheers!

I stumbled onto this great, cheap Cabernet!

Fetzer.

For $7-$11 a bottle, it's excellent, and I have been enjoying the first two days of daylight saving time in its company.

If you can find it, try a bottle of Hey Mambo red blend. Same price range but a disproportionately deep flavor.

I really have no clue if you are being a smart ass here (sorry ) but if not, surely you have tried Ménage à Trois?

Me, an intelligent derrière? For shame, madam. For shame.

Thanks for the tip. I bought some last night.

But I paid $12, not $10.

I hope it's at least a $13 wine.

You live in a high tax state (or province). I've never spent more than $10 for it here.
given this, the Hey Mambo might approach $15 but it will be worth it.

Just do what I do - ask the clerk to put a $49.99 price tag on it after you buy it. Take it home and drink it in the hot tub. That's living... :p

A glass of wine while we watch the Rockefeller Center tree lighting and listen to the (much welcome) rain outside.

To think that 30 years ago I stumbled onto the tree lighting by accident. I worked near Carnegie Hall and planned to walk over to Saks to get Mom's favorite perfume. I couldn't figure out why there were so many people around (and it wasn't such a big deal, on TV, etc, back then). I love serendipity like that!

Messina Hoff almond Champaign, if you can get it. Roughly $15 a bottle, not bitterly dry, not sickeningly sweet. Very good stuff, comes from CA.
Thanks for posting in here! What with all the parties coming up I was wanting to revive this thread and kept forgetting to do it...
What are you all drinking? What good buys are you finding in the wine and liquor and beer sections? Share! :)

I love Messina Hoff, though I haven't had anything from them in ages. I'll definitely give this a try! :)
