I'm gonna get as much in as I can...

I know probably 5 miles doesn't sound like much to people who hike, but I am not a hiker... and the hills around here are a WORK OUT...

... so I'm damn proud of myself!

When you challenge yourself cardiovascularly, that is the key. Having terrain that is not level with give you an increase in heart rate more quickly but it is also more strenuous on the knees and ankles, so you have to be careful. Of course, the sidewalks and pedestrians here in the city are a challenge, too, but of another kind!

And as previous stated, I am proud of you. I know how hard it has been to drop and keep off 20 lbs in the past 2 years. It isn't easy after age 35 in women because of our hormones. I have many more to go yet, so I am hitting a plateau right now... key is not to gain it back or put on more...

There's more room in my jeans than there was a week ago, so I must be doing something right!

Not sure there's that much room... we're only talking about 3 pounds of room, and I know you're more solid than that, thank God...
