Anyone from the UK?

Hi from another UK Newbie (but no so newbie as I had account here a few years ago).

UK South coast is what I can see out of my window

i dont like sweet with savoury which clouds my opinion! love a mushroom on a pizza
My screen name reflects a hobby. I got a smallish (2 pizza capacity) commercial wood fired pizza oven a couple of years ago and it's my go to summer outdoor entertaining thing. I make my own dough and tend to stick to traditional toppings, I'm not so much of a puritan that I adhere fully to the AVPN rules about what can and can't be used (yes, that does actually exist) but I prefer to stay within the spirit of the AVPN.

Like you I find the sweetness of pineapple confusing  I have made sweet pizza's before with lemon curd or a Nutella calzone but it's not really to my taste and there are better deserts.

Did a gig in Newcastle a couple of years back, we all ordered a standard flavour pizza apart from one of the girls who ordered the chocolate one. Nutella, m&ms marshmallows etc. was disgusting

Yep, totally agree. The lemon curd wasn't too bad because it was a bit sharp rather than overwhelmingly sweet but I wouldn't bother to do it again.

I understand things like AVPN and DOC for commercial concerns, but for home cooking? Nah. Treat yourself. Live a little. You might discover incredible flavour combinations that aren’t on some stuffy list!

Seems to be several newbies today... so fave biscuit? Choccy hob nobs seem to be the pack leader at the moment.

It's not a strict code I follow at home, I often do nduja (my GF's favourite) which is not an approved topping, but some things go together well for a reason and I don't have a palate for American style pizza with huge amounts of meat and cheese. Olives, artichokes, Italian ham, mozzarella, parmesan, peperoni, mushrooms, gorgonzola, a basic tomato sauce and fresh basil in various combinations keeps me happy.

I'm more likely to deviate if it's a Detroit style cooked in my conventional oven
