Sometimes I'm glad I'm in the volunteer fire brigade and not the ambulance service.
Today is the carnival parade. Here in this area, it's customary to go to a float in the parade with your empty wine glass and have it refilled for free. Incidentally, the wine glasses here hold half a litre. If you have a smaller glass, people will laugh at you. Gulp vaccination.
I'm on standby at the fire station. And since this is an appropriate website, I should mention that we wear long johns under our firefighting gear to prevent chafing. In short, there are ten people walking around in T-shirts and long johns. Mine are black.
